10 min to the head of Mount Desert Island which is an area known as the Town Hill section of Bar Harbor.

Description accurate , convenient location to Ellsworth- close to some very good restaurants, not too far from Acadia for hiking and Bar Harbor for restaurants and shopping. Quaint cottage on the water with great sunsets. Equipped with everything you need. Loved sitting on the deck!

Spent a week here while our kids were at sleepaway camp and it was a perfect spot. We heard a coyote, loons and owls and saw ospreys regularly. So close to Acadia. Highly recommend and lovely owners. Only advice - don’t work remotely like we did - take the full vacation!

We loved our time at the waterfront cottage. The sunsets over the water were beautiful, and there were multiple options to enjoy the view - two decks and chairs to move around the yard. Our boys (ages 14 and 11) spent hours skipping rocks and exploring the shoreline. Observing the differences on the shoreline between high and low tides was neat. We never did make use of the fire-pit, but that would have been fun.
The house was very clean with everything we needed for our 5 day visit. The kitchen was well-stocked with the essentials to make meals. Beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed a few of the many games available for use, and there were also plenty of movies and CDs to choose from. Communication from the owners was excellent.
We used the cottage as a base to visit Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. It was an easy 20-30 minute drive. We went into Ellsworth (10 mins) for groceries, and had several meals in Ellsworth and Trenton (also about 10 mins). Although Bar Harbor is a beautiful town and closer to Acadia (our primary purpose for the visit), we preferred to stay in the more peaceful setting of the waterfront cottage.
The house next door appeared to be under renovation, but there was no one doing work during our visit.
We couldn't have asked for a better location for our first visit to Maine.

It was hard to leave this idyllic cottage, not only at the end of our stay, but every day we went exploring. I often thought how we could not explore anything and just stay at the cottage all day, every day. From watching the sunrise across the water, to the sunset in the evening everything was wonderful! The views are the best part of this place. Right on the water, amazingly peaceful. The sunsets were spectacular!!
As for the cottage, it was wonderful. Everything was clean, updated, and nicely appointed. Three decks allowed you to enjoy the views. We spent most of our time in the sunroom with high ceiling and a fan and walls of windows, it was the perfect spot to watch the sunset and hang with the family playing a board game at night.
The cottage is close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National park where we spent a lot of our time exploring. There is so much to do in the area and so many amazing restaurants, we will definitely be back!
Our hosts Kim and Doug were great. Communicated when we needed it, but gave us space to enjoy our stay. They were super organized and you wanted for nothing at the cottage.
If you are on the fence, please rest assured you do not need to be. This place is everything it presents in the description and photos and 10x more! It is a WINNER!
Thanks again Kim and Doug, we will return!

My family and I loved coming back to the peaceful and relaxing location while exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor. My family of 4 had plenty of space to spread out and everything was very clean and well-kept.

Beautiful setting and property! 30 mins to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. House was very nicely furnished and clean with everything we needed to season, cook, clean and just enjoy the location! West facing for sunsets over the water. Bird watching was good. Master bed was very comfy. 2 fire stoves were comfy as well. Decks! I just can’t say enough nice things. Don’t hesitate. Just book it and enjoy. We sure did. Thanks so much!

The bayside cottage was all we hoped it would be!! So quiet and peaceful. Loved that the cottage was near the water and far from the road. Gorgeous sunsets and views!! I loved the kitchen and found it extra Well appointed. I was able to bake to my heart’s content! Evening we enjoyed grilling and eating by the water. Tons of room to spread out. Living room and sunroom were fabulous!

My husband and I stayed in this lovely cottage while our daughter was away for the week at camp. This was a perfect location to get in some work during the day and explore the area in the afternoon and evening - All the hikes we wanted to try and some great restaurants were no more than 15-20 minutes away. It would have been a great location if our daughter was with us too as the shoreline offered a lot for a child to explore.

Pros:
Incredible sunset views of the bay
Very clean
Well stocked kitchen
A/C in both bedrooms (listing is not accurate)
Cons:
The well water for the cottage is salty and undrinkable. Owners should state this in listing and contract, and not just admit that it's a problem in the instructions located on the property. At a minimum leave a gallon of drinking water until renters can get to the store
The beds in twin room are only suitable for small children. The matresses are worn out and the ancient bed springs are not a typical modern box spring. They are extremely uncomfortable for an adult. We wanted to use one of the twin beds as my spouse has restless leg syndrome, and ended up having to put the mattress on the floor in the living room.
There is an extensive construction project at the property that shares the driveway. This wasnt disclosed to us until 2 months before our arrival, and project was clearly started way before then. No chance at that point to find another place for 4th of July week. Fortunately the neighbors were very considerate about letting us know when the driveway way going to be blocked for deliveries of materials.

Our family had the best week staying at Doug and Kim's house. Our children loved playing outside, picking wildflowers, and walking along the shore. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets on the deck and spent as much time as possible in the sunroom. It was only a short drive to Acadia National Park, the grocery store, and several great spots for lobster. We hope to visit again!

What a beautiful cottage on the water. As others have stated, cottage is well stocked and clean. The sunroom is amazing, as well as water front views and small beach area. We found ourselves spending our evenings there to cook an easy dinner after exploring Acadia rather than going out to eat. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, set back from the road, and was focused on the tides, breezes and sunsets to the west. An easy drive to any of the Mount Desert harbors but out of the fray, beautiful and quiet. We hope to return in the seasons to come.
Thank you Kim and Doug

We had the best stay at this cozy cottage! The location is perfect - It’s about 10 minutes to Ellsworth which has many food options for lunch and dinner and 25 minutes to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. My children are 4 and 6 and they loved playing in the tide pools right outside of the cottage. The water is lovely and calm. We all swam, went paddle boarding, and kayaked in the bay. The hosts were so kind and friendly. We would definitely return to this relaxing retreat! Thanks to Kim and Doug for sharing this beautiful property!

Very well planned out and appointed
The cottage was well designed and was perfectly stocked with everything we could have wanted. Even the bookshelf seemed curated to include the kinds of reading one would do on a vacation. We had a glorious time.

Beautiful & Comfortable Home
Perfect spot for our family of three for a week. The cove provided a nice protected area for kayaking and hanging out by the water. Bald Eagle made a daily appearance on the rocks across the cove. Easy drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia. House was well stocked, clean and comfortable. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place!

Amazing getaway!
This was a really wonderful house with really wonderful hosts. The house was so well-stocked, is in a beautiful location, the hosts were super kind and responsive to questions, and it’s just overall a peaceful and easy way to spend a week. We didn’t feel like we even needed to leave the property, but it was close to Acadia and whitewater rafting for day trips. Definitely already looking forward to being able to visit again!

Wonderful Place by the Ocean
This is a wonderful place, with stunning views throughout. Located on a bay off of the ocean, It was a special experience to relax and watch the ebb and flow of the tide and feel so close to nature.
The cabin is in such a great location for exploring the area. The cabin is located about 15 minutes from Ellsworth (shopping) and 20 minutes from the Hull’s Cove Visitor Center (entrance to Acadia NP).
We enjoyed our excursions – but also appreciated such a home-like environment to come back to! Everything is so thoughtfully prepared, from the beautiful furnishings in the cabin to the chart of Blue Hill Bay on the wall to the things in the cupboards to anticipate so many things that someone might want or need. The cabin features a full kitchen with everything you might need to steam lobsters or grill. Makes such a difference!

Most relaxing vacation ever!
The cottage was lovely, essentials were all there, we didn't need to bring anything except our clothes, the essentials were all there! The view of the bay was stunning. We took tons of pictures of sunset. The location was so convenient to so many activities. Don't forget to go to Schoodic Peninsula - well worth the hour journey to get there. Much less crowded, beautiful hiking treks. We will definitely return! Thank you Kim and Doug for sharing your lovely cottage!

We had one of our best vacations here.
We loved EVERYTHING about our vacation in this cozy charming cottage. The location was fantastic for our hikes in Acadia, our kayaking on the bay and the town of Ellsworth just a few miles up the road. Great brewery there! We kayaked to a Perry’s lobster shack one day across the bay. The water was relatively calm and we are experienced kayakers. The big room with the vaulted ceiling and wall to wall windows is awesome to sit in the morning with coffee looking out across the bay and for hanging out at night - watching the beautiful sunsets turn the sky so many colors. Comfortable place. We cooked four of the seven nights. Kitchen well stocked. The three decks were nice to have. Plenty of chairs for the beach or deck. Comfortable queen bed with awesome view of the water. We had a fire on the beach at low tide one night and the stars were amazing that night.
We had our mini golden doodle with us and she was in heaven. So were we.
Beautiful spot.

We loved our stay
Acadia Bayside Cottage was the perfect place for our family to stay while visiting Acadia! It’s a relatively short drive to the park and Bar Harbor. The cabin itself is adorable - clean, cozy, and well equipped. We rented kayaks to ride on the bay and enjoyed beautiful sunset views. We saw Herons nearly every morning and even seals catching fish in the bay! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home!

I chose this cottage because of the views over the water and the amazing sunsets. We were not disappointed, as the cottage has fantastic views morning, noon, and night. We spent many hours watching the tide go in and out since there were such wild swings in the water level! The cottage itself is super cute and well-appointed. The kitchen was roomy and had everything we needed. No dishwasher, but who cares, we weren't cooking giant meals even though we took almost every meal at the cottage because of the pandemic. The bedrooms are cozy, and we really enjoyed hanging out in the great room by the fireplace and the giant views of the water! Our dog enjoyed racing around the grounds and exploring the beach when the tide was out.The cottage was an easy drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, plus many other cute towns on the coast of Maine. We would return in a heartbeat!

We were looking for a place to really unwind and relax. Arcadia Bayside Cottage totally exceptation
Arcadia Bayside Cottage was just amazing for us. During this stressful pandemic time this cottage was our perfect answer. Unbelievable how they think of your every possible need. I did need tape and there it was in the medicine cabinet. We have rented multiple different listings and this by far it at the top of the list. Every evening the most beautiful sunsets and we took picture each night. We saw Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Harbor Seal, Porpoise and many other bird sightings. Looking out on the bay each morning or really anytime of day was just a joy. Five stars!!! We'll be back!!!

Wonderful stay!
Clean and very comfortable cottage with incredible views of the bay. Convenient access to MDI. Dazzling sunsets every evening. We couldn’t ask for a better spot to relax after spending the day at Acadia. We saw lots of eagles, ospreys and seals during our stay. This really felt like our home away from home!

Cottage was prestine and the views of the bay were stunning. Conveniently located to Acadia National
The cottage was prestine and the views of the bay were stunning. Amazing sunsets and hours spent at low tide exploring the shore where we found hermit crabs, blue crabs, green crabs, sea snails and sea stars. We also saw an Eagle, herons, loons and even spotted seals. Cottage was conveniently located to area attractions yet secluded enough for relaxation after being out exploring all day. We enjoyed plenty of dinners out but also had amazing dinners cooked at the cottage. I would highly recommend this rental property. The owners were were terrific and went above and beyond to accommodate our stay in the cottage.

Fabulous Spot. Bigger than it looks in the pictures.
Great spot. Amazing sunsets -- like 5 different variations of fabulous that the sun went through each night. Right on the water, which was good for kayaking, and for low tide rock and shell finding. 10 minutes to Ellsworth for supplies. 20 minutes (or so) to Bar Harbor. We had 3 adults and 2 kids, and place was great. Plenty of fans and one room had an a/c unit … which was nice as we had some hot weather. WiFi was strong. Friendly neighbors. Couldn't have asked for more.

Picturesque and cozy!
We had an amazing 5 days at the cottage and we loved everything about it. That included proximity to Acadia NP and Ellsworth for dining. We saw loons, eagles, and cormorants from the cozy sunroom, and totally enjoyed our rainy day mid-rental. Thanks to Kim and Doug for a wonderful time!

Nature and Comfort Combined
This cottage is ideal for a nature get-away! Right on the water, able to watch the turning tides with cranes, loons, and turns - sunrises, sunsets, nestled under pines. Acadia and Bar Harbor are 20 minutes away - then come back to our private cottage providing an escape from the crowds. The cottage had a fully supplied kitchen, games, books, movies, plenty of towels, wanting for nothing. The grocery, Walmart, and LLBean were only 7 minutes away. It was so relaxing reading while the warmth from regulated gas stoves kept us warm as the weather changed from end of summer to early autumn. How lovely to visit the shoreline beach by walking down the slope from the cottage or sitting out in the adirondack style chairs enjoying a glass of wine with the mesmerising panoramic view right in front of us. Clean and comfortable, our host Doug was prompt when asked to explain the stoves. Hostess Kim was quick to suggest a number of local lobster restaurants to try closeby. Overall a refreshing visit that felt like home immediately...this cottage will be my first choice in planning a return visit!
