About this house rental

This property has a little bit of history. It is a 1970's Commonwealth Games athlete accommodation home, transported to the beautiful Hanmer Springs when it was no longer needed. Recently renovated inside, it is now a comfortable, warm home in a perfect location for a great weekend getaway or longer if you find you cant leave! The location is perfect for either a relaxing time of Pools, great food and wine at the amazing restaurants or shopping at the fantastic and increasing selection of Hanmer shops, all within an easy walking distance from the home. Equally the adventurous types can enjoy direct access from the property to the amazing walk tracks and cycle tracks of the Dog Stream Reserve.
Special conditions:
Families preferred, this is not a party house and is managed by neighbouring property. Please note Linen and Cleaning options are temporarily unavailable, you must take your own linen and clean property when departing, sorry for this inconvenience. Smoking outside only. Please enquire for midweek single night stays.

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels); please note if hiring linen, the sheets and towels required will be left for your use. The property is not serviced therefore beds will not be made up for your stay. Hire includes use of linen and laundering post stay.

Loved it, 2nd time staying here. Didn't need to use our car at all for our 2 night stay, everything was only a 5min walk away. Clean and very tidy. Everything we needed in the kitchen was available. We will definitely be staying again.

We stayed in Autumn, beautiful time of year and were kept cosy with the woodburner. Shortcut down to the river and trails is great. Would love to stay during the summer time too to make more use of the outside areas. Communication was awesome. Will definitely look at for our next trip up!

Loved our stay at this beautiful house. The house was a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures and my son loved exploring the garden and house. Would definitely come back for a stay next time we’re in Hanmer springs

A clean, tidy Bach with all the comforts of home. The living room opens onto a spacious deck which overlooks the bush. There are bedrooms upstairs and downstairs. The heat pump is downstairs - the upstairs area is kept cool in the summer months with a fan. The Bach is centrally located just a short 3-minute walk to Hanmer Town Centre. The kitchen has all the mod cons. Loved the hammock in the garden!

Great location, very close to the hot pools and restaurants. Love the fact that the house has direct access to the forest. Beautiful view, quite street. Lots of toys for the young one, lots of board games, dvds and cards. Great supply of fire woods. Plenty of cups, plates, cutleries. The only downside about the property is the cleanliness. The place is not that clean, lots of cobwebs, dust, the pillows have drool stains (I think that's what put me off the most). Lots of left over items (I'm guessing) from previous guests, expired items like sunscreen from 2018 etc. (I'm sorry but I threw them away) The place doesn't have wi-fi so make sure you have plenty of data on your phone or just unplugged and enjoy your time with your family or friends. The card game is pretty fun for the adults. The kid entertained himself with the marble run. Overall we are happy with the stay.

Wonderful house, perfect for family groups with 2 living areas and plenty of toys and games available. Great fire that kept us toasty warm with plenty of firewood. Lovely outdoor area though it was a bit chilly for us - love to come back in summer. Everything we needed in the house and a short stroll to town, pools or into Hanmer Forest. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thanks very much.

It's in a perfect location. Short walk to the hotpools, backs on to amazing trails through the bush, excellent views. House was warm and comfortable even when snowing outside. Would love to stay again

It is a really nice place for family. My 6 years old girl loves the bunk bed, toys, backyard swing… The location is great, close to the pool and village Centre. Definitely will visit again next time. Highly recommended.

Such a great location! Perfect for walking into town, hot pools & supermarket. The kids loved being able to walk through the Fairy Forrest as well. Nice & clean and some great toys for the kids as well.

we had a lovely time in Hanmer, very quiet and comfortable accommodation. One small issue that I need to report. The shower hose bracket is loose and fell off when my sister attempted to move the shower head. It went back into position but we were very careful not to move it again. thanks for nice accommodation

Our family really enjoyed staying at this property. It is a great place to stay because it is close to town and easy access to some family-friendly bike tracks. The kids (age 8 and 11) also have their own space where they can hang out and play games. Thanks for providing such a lovely accommodation!

Really enjoyed our stay- nice modern decor. Fabulous situation - 5 mins walk to the pools. Loved the spacious deck overlooking the bush. One bathroom/toilet took a bit of planning with 6 people.

It was a lovely warm house and we loved that it got the sun all day. Easy access and easy walk to the town centre and pools. Great to have the bush and reserve at the back, a quiet place to stay.

We loved our time at this property. Ideally located a stones throw from hot pools and restaurants and backing onto picturesque forest and river walks. Lovely fireplace, spacious decks and comfortable furniture. Kids loved the downstairs den. We’ll definitely be back!

Very happy with our stay here. It's on a large section which leads down to a stream at the bottom, so the kids had fun exploring. Reasonably central, very easy walk to everything.

Property is great. House is very warm and heaps of room for children to play down stairs and also lots of toys and DVDs for rainy days. Heat pump stopped working no power getting to it but two oils heater and wall heaters kept it nice and warm and the fire upstairs kept us all warm. We sure will rent again! Thanks so much
