Lovely private home perfect for 2 couples. Clean, well-appointed, easy drives to vineyards and local towns to explore. Host very responsive.

I stayed for an extended period over the summer to be closer to family and friends. The house is wonderful and very nicely furnished. Comfortable master bed and great shower. The host is very responsive with communication. The location is quiet and complimented by a peaceful garden and deck. The host provides a Sonoma County Park Pass that is a great addition as there are several parks close by and access to the Russian River. The location is ideal for wine country visits, but also to take in the charming coast and the nearby towns of Sebastopol and Santa Rosa. If you are adventurous you are even close enough to take a day trip up to the big trees. Finally, you are close to a quality market with fresh local produce located only 5 minutes away. Highly reccomend.

Shady retreat
This Russian River home was a great location for our group of four who were traveling from CA and AZ to relax, hike, and spend time together w each other and two dog companions traveling with us. The pictures well represent the home and the yard was even nicer than we anticipated with many different places to enjoy in the yard at different times of day - it made letting our dogs out in the morning so easy so they could explore the yard or lie in the sunshine on the deck.
The bedrooms are separate from one another which allows for privacy and the home has a lot of filtered sunlight and shade throughout the day.
You do have to drive out of the location to get places, but this house is a quick 5 minute drive to Forestville and the West County Regional Trail (great for running and biking), an 8 minute drive to town of Guerneville and great restaurants (try Brot and Stumptown Brewery), 10 minutes to beautiful Armstrong Redwoods. and about 2 minutes to Korbel Winery.
We will be back in future summers!

Cute and cozy
This house is everything as it appeared in the posting. It was all we needed to relax after a long day touring wine country. The kitchen was well-appointed (even had a wine opener, which is something we expected in Sonoma but it’s also been an essential item that has been lacking in other homes away from home). The living room was comfortable and a great place to unwind with a movie. My friends and I highly recommend this beautiful home.

My husband Jon and I had invited our daughter and son in-law to join this week– and it would have worked great– plenty of space for the young couple to be with us or by themselves, including the hot tub! But they had to cancel their trip, so it ended up being a cozy but spacious getaway for two. We liked cooking in the house, relaxing on the deck and admiring the garden! Also we loved being near Forestville and other Russian River highlights. So pretty and green in the trees! We hope to rent it again!

Most importantly: our newly adopted dog loved this space! The 2 br./2 bath was great for 2 couples-we could be together as much as we wanted, and apart as much as we needed. the fenced in yard was safe, quiet and very Zen. Kitchen well-stocked (we like to cook!), and the hot tub was a wonderful way to start and end our days of nearby wine tasting. The location was perfect for us-we enjoy the restaurants and wineries in Forestville/Guerneville and Windsor, and the nearby little market was convenient for the few items we needed. The hillside location was cooler than the valley, and the winding roads kept away any traffic. We celebrated our 1st anniversary on the deck, beneath the strings of lights, listening to the crikets-Nirvana, indeed!

This was a great property right where we wanted to be. There was a small issue when we arrived, but Angela responded quickly and it was resolved. Only thing I wish I’d looked at more closely was the road it was on. It’s a very narrow, twisty, one way gravel road. Easy to navigate after the first time.😉

My wife and I stayed her for a week for a little bit of remote work, and a nice four-day wine country weekend. Another couple joined us for three nights and we had a great time.
As you can tell from the map, this home is located near the Russian River above River Road. You can hear the traffic but if the windows (all dual-paned) are closed, it's not very noticeable. There were two very hot days when we stayed but the house stayed quite cool even without A/C and in the cool evenings it cooled back down quickly once the windows were opened. The beds are very comfortable; it was only the third or fourth night that we realized we hadn't given them a second thought which is awesome.
If you like to cook, you'll find the house has just about anything you're likely to need, down to a garlic press and salad spinner. A nice drip coffee maker plus a French press. Really great since we brought a lot of fresh food and it was easy to get it prepared.
We took walks through the neighborhood, eating fresh blackberries from the briars along the road. Speaking of the roads, there are two ways in; one along a narrow one-way road that's in theory the faster one, and a more roundabout one (up the Champs de Elysses) that's wider for the most part. We liked the latter better once we tried it.
The location is great. It wasn't too far over to the coast, or to Sebastopol, or the southern end of Eastside/Westside roads and the wineries of Dry Creek Valley. Had an amazing tasting at Porter Creek on one of the hot days; great folks and great wines. If you go there, tell the chickens that Leo sends his regards.
The owner, Angela, is terrific. She reached out the first day to ask if there were any questions we had, or if we'd like any restaurant/winery recommendations. I did contact her about something a couple days later and she got back to me quickly.
My wife and I needed to work remotely for a couple of days and the cable internet worked great. Speeds were just fine and the WiFi coverage was more than adequate. Cellular service on the other hand isn't great, in particular my phone on the Verizon network couldn't reliably make/receive a call. AT&T was somewhat better. If you have WiFi calling enabled, you should be covered.
The hot tub is clean and well-maintained. We had dinner out on the deck one night, drinks another night. Very pleasant.
Overall, we found it a great place to stay.

Lovely private getaway in Sonoma county
Our time at Angela's place was perfect! She was extremely communicative and responsive about details, and check in was super easy. The house was clean and cozy, and the garden outside was just lovely. And the location was a nice short drive from bigger towns close by. Overall we loved our stay!

Beautiful private home
We absolutely loved our stay. The home is lovely and well equipped. The best part was the outdoors, a lovely patio, garden and hot tub. It is well situated to explore the Russian River area. It would be perfect for two couples.

It was great location for are wine excursions
Great location. Stayed at Angela’s property several years ago and the property has seriously declined over time regarding maintenance and cleanliness.

Cozy, charming, private getaway
Great experience! The house is adorable. Outdoor strung lights go on at dark, creating a lovely atmosphere. Very private as fence surrounds the whole property. I had no problem with the television remote, which is saying a lot as I have problems with my own . The street is somewhat treacherous , narrow with sharp turns. That said, we navigated it without incident day and night. I hope to return!

Weekend Get Away
Fun weekend cottage away from the hustle and bustle. Quiet, no cell service, quaint property well away from freeway and other "city" noise. Reasonably close to Healdsburg and the family wineries surrounding area. The roads were difficult particularly in the rain & dark. Never had any luck with getting the fireplace on, but slept in each morning, enjoyed our coffee and solitude.

A treetop retreat!
Had a lovely stay. The house is very comfortable. Everything you need for a pleasant stay. Outside area was terrific, spent countless hours on the patio. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is a peaceful retreat. I had trouble using my cellphone, Verizon network couldn’t pick up a signal for cell service. Angela was very helpful. The one way road was a bit challenging, Angela suggested taking another route and that worked much better. Enjoyed daily outings to the many wineries. It was a great way to end my California road trip!

Mountainside escape
We enjoyed our stay here, and it was clean and well appointed with streamlined decor - in addition, the owner Angela was responsive and easy to work with.
There are a couple of quirks that we pointed out by others that we feel are worthy of repeating (I had read them, but they didn't seem significant before our stay). The path to get to the house was a very narrow, one-way road. We were very happy that had hired a driver to explore Sonoma wine country and navigate our way home! The bedrooms were comfortable, but the bathrooms are in a strange set-up that required anyone going to the bathroom to exit their bedroom and one one case, completely cross the length of the house and go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom - basically, both bathrooms were off of the kitchen, which is not ideal. The only other negative (for us) was that despite this being in wine country and being promoted for the location to wineries and tasting rooms, there were minimal wine glasses available and the few that were there were not matching. Since we choose to stay in to eat on a couple of evenings, it would have made our wine consumption more pleasant.
It was nice to have access to a grill (which we used). There was a hot-tub that looked lovely, but we didn't get to take advantage of it simply due to timing, nor did we use the TV; the WiFi signal was strong and I was glad to have WiFi calling on my phone since cellular service was otherwise not strongly available. The backyard was a beautiful spot for relaxing with morning coffee!
Overall, it was a relaxing stay for the period of time we were there with the very good friends we have in company.

A great house for our family
We loved our stay. The house was stocked and very clean. Centrally located for the coast , redwoods and wineries. I highly recommend it. Coffee on the deck every morning was great and private.

Forestville House #4269740
We enjoyed our stay there and found the house to be clean and spacious. Also deck was a real plus to relax and have our meals out there. Owner was responsive when we had to connect with her - which we appreciated.
Parking is very limited-space for one car only. Good thing we did not have friends with us.

Comfortable attractive bungalow in Forestville.
We enjoyed our stay here. The bungalow was nice, clean, comfortable and attractive. It is centrally located to Forestville, Guerneville, and the wine road. Would recommend.

A delightful stay
My husband and I had vacationed in the area many times, but we had never stayed in the Forestville area. We kayaked on the Russian River, visited wineries and enjoyed the local restaurants. This property was very clean and well appointed especially in the kitchen. The outdoor area was lovely.

Wonderful comfortable cottage
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage on Rio Vista. My sister and I brought our 87 year old dad to wine country for a family vacation. The house is very comfortable. The bathroom facilities in the front of the house were very good for our dad as it had a walk in shower with a hand held shower head. Dad has trouble standing for long periods and difficulty walking distances. The house is basically on one level and he was able to get around very well. The kitchen is very well appointed with just about anything one would need to make a nice meal. There are spices in the cabinets and plenty of quality cookware for guest use. The outdoor deck area is a wonderful outdoor living space. Well appointed with deck furniture and a nice table for eating dinner outside. The grill is clean and works great. We would definitely stay in the cottage again on another trip out to the Russian River Valley. I gave the cottage 4 stars only because there were a couple of small hiccups during our stay and 5 stars means perfection.
We had trouble with large flies getting into the house and congregating in the kitchen. It would have been nice if there had been some fly paper under the sink to put out. We were unable to get the television to log into the Direct TV so that my dad could watch his evening news. Not a big deal for my sister and me but Dad was disappointed. The owner did give us the password and username but we could not get it to connect. The roads are basically one way getting into and out of the area. Just want to give folks a heads up on that one. It's a little disconcerting when coming into an unfamiliar area and you're not sure if you'll meet someone head on in the dark! The cottage is adorable. We really enjoyed our stay. It is quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. Very close to many wineries and there are lots of activities available near by. Also not a long distance from the coast. We shopped at the Safeway grocery in Guerneville which was very convenient to the cottage. I did text the owner a couple of times with some questions and she was very quick to reply. I highly recommend this property.

A complete VRBO
We have stayed in many different VRBO‘s and most of them have been very nice to excellent. This home hits all of the boxes. The patio area is secluded and very enjoyable to relax upon after a day of hiking and wine tasting. Although we didn’t use it, the spa looked very inviting. On the inside, the furnishings were very nice and the beds were quite comfortable. But most of all, it was the most well equipped, clean, and efficient kitchen that we have ever experienced.
And I would also Add for frequent Russian River wine goers, the central location is outstanding as well.
Thank you Angela for providing an outstanding guest experience.

Quaint Bungalow in fabulous wine country
We had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend at this lovely, well-appointed bungalow in Sonoma. Centrally located, great outdoor space and very comfortable 2 bedroom house. Angela was very responsive and gave very thorough directions on all fronts - how to get there to what to see and where to eat/taste. Really a lovely place!

Charming home
Lovely backyard surrounded by tall trees. We definitely made use of the BBQ and jacuzzi. Well-stocked kitchen. Perfect location for our friends' wedding at a nearby winery.

Great place! Modern design and cozy home!
The place was great! The beds were very comfortable! The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and dishes. The entire home is modern and cute. The deck is very spacious and really beautiful! The host was very responsive to any questions we had as well!
4.8
Great location to area vineyards
This 2 bedroom house is clean and updated and close to many vineyards in, and around, Healdsburg, Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley, and Alexander Valley. The bedrooms are on separate sides of the home so it allows for your own personal space. There is no central heat but a fireplace linked to the gas fireplace heated the home up very quickly and remained comfortable the rest of our stay.
The house has a hot tub but it had to be drained the day we were to arrive. Based on the concern for the hot tub in the property description, the hot tub appears like it might be an ongoing issue. The owner was apologetic and refunded some money, which was appreciated, but a hot tub on a crisp night would have been ideal...especially in the beautiful courtyard of her home. It was really a nice deck to sit on and enjoy coffee in the morning though, so we were able to enjoy the outdoor seating provided.
Overall, the home was very comfortable. Kitchen appliances, coffee maker, oven/stove, cookware, utensils, and cutlery were all better than average for typical VRBOs so making meals will be enjoyable.
We would definitely stay here again, especially if the hot tub can be fixed.
