• Looking for sea shells and sea creatures in tidal pools across the 700 feet of ocean frontage, or dig for clams in a sandy cove.
• Try your hand at fishing right off the rocky ocean edge on the property. With a little luck you may pull in a striper or bluefish!

A beautiful, clean and comfy property with spaces and activities for all of us. The Harpswell location is gorgeous and the cottage was well equipped .
Our Host was without fail helpful and welcoming.
Please check out this wonderful spot!

Our family has wanted to visit Maine since our children were young and we all got here when they have children too. So 3 generations- 11 in our party - had a ball! The property was awesome - plenty of room for everyone and lots of common area space for us to be together. We took advantage of the Kayaks and the fire pit often on our trip. The property was very well appointed - I brought extra towels, kitchen utensils and plenty of cleaning supplies based on prior Vrbo experiences and didn’t need them at all - everything was very nice and usable for big meals and seafood feasts. We traveled the almost 3 hours to Acadia National Park and also went on a whale watching tour out of Kennebunkport - all wonderful as the property was fairly centrally located. Local sightseeing included Orr’s Island and Bailey’s Island - light activity but a great place to walk, hike and search for shells and sea glass at low tide. Really enjoyed the stay and the property made the difference. Our host was very helpful and was very responsive. Enjoyed the stay so much - would highly recommend!

This property exceeded all our expectations! The living space was absolutely perfect for our group, offering ample room to socialize while still allowing for moments of tranquility. However, the outdoor area was the true highlight. Whether it was the multiple decks from which we could spot seals, harbor porpoises, or bald eagles, the picturesque point where we could unwind and savor the rugged Maine coastline, or our adventures on the bay in the kayaks, it was truly a splendid place to unwind and enjoy a vacation.

The property exceeded our expectations . It is very well equipped and has a beautiful outlook over the water . There is ample dining and living areas both inside and outside and a fire pit surrounded by chairs . It was perfect for our extended family group visiting Maine from the UK for our sons wedding . The boathouse is also very well equipped with kayaks , a canoe and sail boat and paddle boards . I would highly recommend the rental to anyone . It is clearly a well loved family home with many extra touches and equipment which make a huge difference to the overall experience

Family gathering (Philly, Boston, Chicago participants). The house, host, and location were "Awesome". This was a annual get together of my brothers, nephews, cousins and the house was perfect for all 10 of us to bond as well as have some "down time", when wanted. My communication experience with the host was excellent, even offering to have our party check in a day early due to a Nor'easter moving up the coast. The house had everything we needed, and MORE.
Everyone had a great time and when we left the house yesterday was asking "how can we possibly top this?"

This house was everything we had hoped for! We were 7 adults and a baby and there was space for everyone to be together, or to have privacy when needed. The kitchens were well supplied, the linens were great, there were even bins with first aid supplies! The fire pit was fun for all as well. And the view of sunrise was amazing. I loved this home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at this amazing property. The recently completed renovations are the icing on the cake, adding even more beautiful water views and a luxurious master suite. The outside spaces are just as enjoyable as those inside with many seating areas for soaking up the beautiful views.

We absolutely loved this property. It was a big family reunion for us and with so many people we had plenty of space and ease with cooking and kitchen equipment and accessories. Also many things to keep everyone entertained… lawn games, kayaks, the sailboat, puzzles, books, games, fire pit, hammocks. It was the perfect property. We would go back in a heartbeat and completely recommend it to anyone. Hilda was a gem and quick to help and respond to any questions we had. We thank her for putting her gorgeous property up for rental.

Perfect place for extended family vacation
Long Point was even better than we imagined it would be: a bright, large place located right on the water, with numerous spaces for us all to spread out and relax, and savor the ocean scene. Even on the one rainy day we had, there was enough indoor, open space for games and reading. We kayaked and read and walked and dreamed, and splurged on one magnificent big lobster meal; we boiled up our crustaceans in the outdoor cooking area down under the big deck. Thank you, Hilda, for a wonderful stay!

Wonderful experience!
This property is truly amazing! The view is spectacular and the house had plenty of room for the ten of us. You do not have to bring anything with you, except your suitcase. Between the two kitchens, Hilda has thought of everything to make your stay and great one.
Very comfy and cozy! Will definitely rent here again!

Perfect place on the coast
We had a wonderful 10-day escape at Long Point and look forward to returning. The property really is a special place and offers multiple quiet relaxation spots. I finished two books while sitting quietly near the water - what a great place to relax and forget 2020! We also appreciated the owner being very responsive to our questions.

Special place
Fantastic trip at Hilda’s place. Everything you could possibly need for a family getaway and incredible attention to detail from the stocked pantry to the nightlights for the kids. The boathouse has everything you need to explore this gorgeous inlet and the grounds are filled with chairs for lounging and hammocks for reading.

Family get away ❤️
The house was perfect for our two families. The views from every room was awesome! We loved using the kayaks especially in morning when the water was so calm. We brought our own wood and used the fire pit most nights. The new kitchen was perfect for cooking all our meals and it’s true it is “well stocked”.
The owner was great with answering all our questions before we went and even when we were at the house we had a couple of small issues. Thank you Hilda for making our stay wonderful!

Amazing place in Maine!
We had such a wonderful time! The house is cozy, very comfortable and has a incredible view. You have everything you need from the kayaks, the pit, & outside long chair to spend a nice WE. ( we saw dolphins !) Hilda has been very helpful. It’s definitely a place that I would recommend. And I’m sure I’ll come back !!

AMAZING!!!
This property is more stunning than the pictures. I grew up on an island north of Bar Harbor, then military service took me away. Forty-five years later I return to the memories of who love Maine. It will always be my "home."

The perfect place for making memories
Both Hilda and her home are amazing!! We are not unfamiliar with Maine and it's gorgeous coastline. My husband and I live here and so do all 4 of our grown children, yet gathering together with them is challenging with schedules as they are. This central coastal location was perfect, allowing them to even "commute" to work and still make it for meals or coffee on the deck. We enjoyed every second and found it incredibly hard to leave. It has the perfect mix of old and new. We wouldn't change a thing!! It was comfortable and we felt at home immediately and there was nothing we could have wanted for- except more time!!! The kayaks were enjoyed by all- even those of us who had our first adventure of ocean kayaking- and the firepit with it's many chairs was perfect for reminiscing and catching up with each other. Watching schools of fish swim by and eagles and osprey and seals were bonuses!! We did venture away from the house for short trips to Land's End and a very convenient and lovely church nearby- but it was hard to pry us from this beautiful home. And no one could ask for a better host!!! We feel truly honored that you allowed us the opportunity to share this magical and sacred space. Thank you Hilda - for an amazing and memorable weekend!!!!!! We long to return and wish we never had to leave!!!

Perfect Vacation spot
This house is in a gorgeous setting. From the deck you can see the lobstermen check their traps and gaze at gorgeous scenery. Having kayaks and access to the water is unusual on the Maine coast. Hilda has equipped the house with everything one could possibly need. She’s attentive to the smallest detail, making staying there a pleasure. She really thinks about visitors’ entire experience in a way that’s unique. Clearly, we love staying there!

All Inclusive!
We had a great family trip to Harpswell. This house has everything you might need. I have yet to see any other VRBO or Air BnB this well appointed.
We enjoyed the kayaks and canoe and how great of shape everything was. This is not your typical rental with the bare necessities, Hilda has made sure everything is there for you.
One of the two Kitchens was recently remodeled and it looks great. We really enjoyed how half the home was newly remodeled and the other half felt like a quaint rustic cabin. The best of both worlds.
The view is spectacular and the property coastline is what you want to see in Maine. Rocky ledges but the property also has great water access off the beach and the dock.
Hilda was great to communicate with and had us prepared for the trip. She even txt'd us during the trip to ensure everything was as we needed.
Great house and great host.

Return Visit
Perfect location on the Maine coast. This was a return visit...and I have booked for next year as well. During our stay, we hiked many trails in the area, went kayaking out the door, visited the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, enjoyed an Art Walk in Brunswick.....

Maine Paradise
We had a family gathering at this perfect home in Harpswell. It is a wonderful property- on the ocean with several places to sit and take it all in. We explored neighboring islands by kayak and we jogged, hiked and biked around the scenic countryside. After a day of exploring, we like to prepare a nice family dinner. This house is better appointed than any vacation home we have visited. Everything you might need (and more) is provided in the kitchen. The living spaces are furnished and decorated as a home would be, dispelling any sense of “rental property.” Hilda was gracious in answering a number of questions before and during our stay. She does everything she can to ensure a good experience of this place that has been special to her for many years.

Lovely place with all the traditional New England charm.
This was a special find for us. If you really want to know what Maine looks like, feels like and lives like this is the place. In addition, Hilda has thought of everything to make your stay quite comfortable and charming. It has the traditional charm with all the comforts. It’s lovely and Hilda was wonderful to work with! We will be back!!

A Dream Come True
Hilda has made this home so welcoming and provides every detail that makes it hard to want to leave. There is a reason she gets so many repeated guests. The view, the location, and the home itself is a package deal that's hard to beat. This is one home I would love to return to one day. Thanks for the memories Hilda.

Special Place with Countless Great Features
My family and friends rented Long Point over a long weekend in November 2016 and we were very lucky to have beautiful mild Maine weather. We all fell in love with everything about the house, the property and the surrounding area. We were a party of 10 and the home accommodated us very easily. Some of our favorite things were the gas fireplace, wonderful comfortable beds, open living/dining areas where all could spend time together comfortably, the fire pit and the general peace and quiet of the beautiful setting. Oh! And the unbelievable view and sunrises! We also had that full super moon which lit up the water at night and we could see the clouds and islands out in the water. Short trips to Freeport and Brunswick were fun as well as slightly longer trips to Boothbay and Portland.
If you are lucky enough to spend time there, Long Point is a special place with too many wonderful qualities to mention here. Hilda Douglas is an ideal hostess and we all thank her for sharing Long Point with us. It’s an inspirational place.

Ideal location and house for a friends get-togethe
Over the years, I have rented Hilda's house several times. I keep returning. Why? Beautiful setting. Clean well-kept house. The kayaking possibility. Walks out the door. Easy drive to stores for supplies.
This year, we discovered Libby's Market in Brunswick for the very best Lobster Rolls. Took a day trip to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.
Really did not have to go anywhere....cannot beat the views from the front decks. Beautiful. Plan to return next year!

I have visited Longpoint several times in the last 10 years in both the summer and fall seasons. It is quintessentially coastal Maine with the drama of rocky cliffs and dramatic tides and the sounds of sea birds, lobster boats and wind through the pines. Longpoint is located on a large parcel land, and is on a island that has not been over developed. Though summer cottages, restaurants, boating and fishing facilities are nearby, much of the rural character of coastal Maine remains. Longpoint is a delightful retreat with a cozy, well- furnished home that makes the most of the lovely setting. Summer sun or chilling rain, it is one of my favorite vacation spots and a peaceful refuge I will return to again and again.

Our weekend in Harpswell was just about perfect. Family staying at the house have not stopped telling us what a marvelous time they had and what a beautiful setting all could enjoy. The accommodations worked well for a varied crew of all ages. Personally, I am called to get out on the water and the canoe was a special treat. The full moon reflecting in the bay on those clear nights was the crowning touch.
We were able to celebrate a graduation weekend that we will remember for years. The layout and kitchens were just what we needed; all was supremely clean. Thanks for the opportunity and congratulations on establishing a perfect retreat! I'd recommend for many different vacation considerations.

A fabulous place for our family reunion. Bringing 11 of us from three states across the US for a week to linger, connect and laugh. Three grandchildren loved it. Three children and spouses got time together and alone, and, as parents, we basked in all of the above. Everything we needed was there when we arrived and some things we did not expect. The setting invited casual walks, fishing, kayaking and much more. So glad we came. Thanks Hilda - you have a rare gem here!

Long Point is one of those rare places that will be etched in your memory long after you have returned from your vacation. That is why my girlfriends and I chose to return to our beloved Long Point to celebrate our 30th year reunion. The house is extremely comfortable, well equipped, beautifully decorated, and clean even down to great smelling towells. Each morning we'd wake up and look out the huge picture windows to sunshine bouncing on the water, lobstermen checking their traps surrounded by seagulls, seals swimming, and even dolphins this year. On our perfect sunny day some of us put the kayaks in the water and crossed over the bay to the next island while others chose to relax on the dock in the lounge chairs. The breathtaking sunrises, sunsets, and the night sky filled with so many stars is not to be missed. Long Point is the perfect place for large groups or a romatic holiday. Yes, we will return to our beloved Long Point and make more memories.

I will be returning with seven women friends for repeat rental in June 2008. Hilda's houses look out on the water. In the morning, I sit on the deck, sip my tea, and watch the lobster fishermen check their traps. Later, I enjoy one of the provided kayaks as I paddle along the rocky coastline. The house is spacious, well kept, and very comfortable. Could not ask for more. Thank you, Hilda for providing this wonderful rental setting.

My husband and I spent the second week of October in Longpoint after staying the first week of our vacation in eastern Canada. It was a wonderful cozy respite from our hectic daily schedules. The property was immaculate and the view from the kitchen and den area leave nothing to be desired. The kitchen, which is so important to those of us who love to cook, is a delight. Looking out the large windows watching boats go by and the leaves turning as we sipped our wine, is a treasured memory. The day it rained and turned cold was just right for staying in the comfortable bed and snuggling. We ate at Cooks of course and happily purchased a painting on our return trip that hangs in our den to remind us of the lovely getaway. We would reccommend seeing the Nautical Museum in nearby Bath for those interested in shipping history. I would reccomend this property to a wide variety of travellers.

I can say nothing but good things about my second year of renting at Long Point. Host Hilda knocks herself out to make sure your stay is perfect. Everything is there to make your stay enjoyable.
There are many things to do in the area, or do nothing at all. Sit on the deck and watch the eagles soar, check out the lobster boats, or just sit and daydream... Long Point makes for a perfect vacation spot....
5.0 / 5.0
We stayed at Long Point this past week for the first time. I can't say enough about this fabulous place! EVERYTHING was as advertised.....except better. The views are breathtaking, the house itself is spotless and beautifully decorated. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas (Brunswick, Bailey's Island, Phippsburg) but we chose to spend most of our time at Long Point. If you go, you won't be disappointed.
