It was a really beautiful view and great access to the beach but the amenities, cleaning supplies, and kitchenware was not adequate for the amount of people listed on the posting.

This house was so filthy and run down. The bathroom was disgusting. The shower curtain was full of black mold and the bathroom smelled like pee. The toilet barely flushed. No hot water in the sinks. The kitchen had no coffee pot. Half of the kitchen drawers were falling out. The ceiling has huge holes with big broken pieces barely holding on. The dryer handle is broken so they wedged some kitchen tongs in it to open it up. Half of the lights and lamps in the house didn’t work so it was extremely dark. The linen closet was a bunch of bedding just thrown in on the floor. Nothing folded or neat. The whole place was disgusting. Super unacceptable. The view was amazing and is the only silver lining of the place.

We had an absolute blast, did not want to leave. The view is absolutely incredible and the private shared beach was so fun. Big windows, epic view. I couldn't figure out how to lock the front door from the inside or get the internet to work but we had decent cell coverage (Tmobile) and the DirectTV worked for the football games. Clutch. The thermostat was hidden away but the temp was just right (we like it on the warmer side- we're from CA) and there was an optional wood stove. A simple seasoning kit would've been great but we should've packed our favorites. This picture showed a Keurig which left me holding my k cups lol ah well, did fine without coffee. There was a drip machine but no grounds. Left my ice cream on the counter...sorry, meant to grab that. Missed it on the ferry lol. A light over the dining table would be really nice but it's splitting hairs. I have never wanted to swim to Seattle so bad...really felt possible. People were out snorkling and it's January. Amazing. I could've spent an entire day just mesmerized watching the ocean and all the different things happening. Super cool. I almost want to leave a bad review to keep this hidden gem ...well...hidden. But, that would mean others miss out on the joy we had, which would be a crime. The place was super clean and basic (outdated charm) which fit our young family perfectly (nothing for them to get into). It was easy to tell them "not allowed in the kitchen" with the layout. Didn't use the W/D or dishwasher can't speak to those. Fyi, no one was above us and if it was our family with loud ass toddlers stomping around upstairs and a single couple or the like down below on a different schedule (not up at 7am daily) I could foresee some frustration as I could feel my kids walking around on their heels on the ground floor. Not sure if the top floor rents out or if kept private. A bonfire pit with some real wood (not store bought bundle that stuff is awful) and a couple better lounge chairs would've been super clutch and upgraded this place big time. There was a BBQ. I just bought a sweet portable fire pit with cover on ebay with stars and moon cutouts- would've been sweet. A little house manual would've been helpful, seemed like Monday was trash day lol, I love having the opportunity to be helpful. Wow the rock man figure by the castle on the road in was super cool. Did I mention we had a blast? What a find. Thank you for all of you who manage this place....Big thanks to you.

First of all, this place has an amazing view of the Seattle skyline and the water, just fabulous. But that’s about it...bbq grill doesn’t work, wifi doesn’t work, cable doesn’t work, toilet barely flushed, kitchen sinks are dirty....we also had one of the plastic sheets covering the lighting almost fall on my head when the bedroom door was being closed. There were empty beer and soda cans. The list goes on. On the other hand, clean towels, ample bathroom amenities (soap, shampoo etc.). This place has a lot of potential, just needs some care.

The view was great but that was the only good aspect. The house was not clean and seems housekeeping only did half of the job with soiled linens in the kitchen and dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Lots of problems, toilet not working, no hot water in bathroom sink, lights not working making it quite dark in evening, Wi-Fi not working as well as TV. The worst part was the lack of response and follow up from Vacasa. Calls were given the standard we’ll check into it and get back to you. Then when I called back there was no “ticket” or limited notes on the case. I had to call 4 times to finally get a response and resolution. A lot of wasted time to clean up the kitchen, trouble shoot the bathroom and call customer service. This also took away from family time. The last person was finally helpful but a $25 refund for amenities and partial cleaning fee refund was hardly enough to make up for all this hassle. We did not get what we paid for. Beware poor customer service.

Stay for the View
Aside from the view, the house did not live up to expectations. Everything about the place was rickety; stairs, outdoor benches and railings, etc. A dining room chair was obviously already broken upon our arrival, And the house overall Was not very poorly maintained. Additionally, two critical amenities (the BBQ and Internet) did not work during our stay. Fortunately, Vacasa was very helpful in trying to find a solution, and the representatives were prompt and courteous while delivering the bad news about not being able to BBQ or use the web. Overall, three stars based on the view and service from Vacasa, but I’ll likely stay elsewhere next trip!

This unit should not be up for rent
We spent a week in June 2020 with my husband and 2 year old son. when we arrived it looked like the unit had been wiped lightly and quickly, but not up for having guests stay for vacation and relaxing. We had received an email earlier saying that due to the pandemia they were doing "extra sanitizing", but this is far from true. This unit was so dirty, in the kitchen had mouse droppings in the drawers, the was a mouse running inside the unit, the bathroom was terrible. I had to clean it, including the shower curtain which had mold for several years. In addition in the kitchen there were not enough utensils, maybe a fork and a spoon. We had brought all our food and the fridge was not working. We called VRBO and vacate and we were told that someone will come by in two days. We didn't want to have contact with anybody. We requested to be reimbursed at least the cleaning fee, but we never heard back....

Girls Weekend getaway
We stayed at Rockaway Water View to celebrate my birthday and to have a girls weekend getaway. It was exactly what we were looking for. Being right on the beach was fantastic. It's a short drive to downtown too.

Worst vacation rental we've EVER had
I wanted to note that we are disappointed with our stay this far. I question the reviews on this listing.
- There were two pubic hairs in the shower. Completely disgusting and evidence there was not proper cleaning. In the given environment, you would think extra care would be given with regard to cleaning in advance of a guest's arrival.
- Half of the windows are completely covered in painter's paper and tape. You can't even see out.
- The grass out front is completely overgrown and not usable.
- Unit was marked as house, but there are two units. Ours, apparently, was a downstairs portion of a house, but not the whole house
- Very limited items in the kitchen and broken drawers.
- Some of the outlets are inoperable
- The inside of the oven was seriously dirty and needed a clean.
- No window coverings and/or broken blinds

Room with a View
We wanted a water-front house and this one exceeded our expectations. The house (duplex, actually) is adequate, but not fancy. But the view is outstanding, as is the privacy and serenity of the location. The skyline of Seattle across the Sound changes throughout the day and night as the light and clouds change. It's beautiful! The basic necessities all worked, bed is comfortable, back porch overlooking the Sound is a lovely place for a cup of coffee or glass of wine. The heat system is shared with the unit above, which left us with no thermostat control, and there don't seem to be any operative windows. That's the only negative. We would definitely stay there again.

Everything was great except the heater
I loved my stay except the heater being on high for 24hrs a day, each day. They had someone turn it off but it still kept going and we kept sweating.
3.3
Nice stay.
We had a nice weekend. The place was clean, and the neighborhood was quiet. Relaxing.

What a View!
What a fantastic view from every room!
That is why you stay here.
The property itself could use some updating to the bathroom and could use more windows that open with screens on the few hot summer days. Also could use some shades on the early morning sun when it’s too bright to look out.
All in all it’s a nice spot that we would stay again. We stayed in the downstairs and you can definitely hear the neighbors above. Would love to try the upstairs next time.

Don't even think about it
If you’re even remotely thinking about renting this dump, turn around and run—run fast and run far—but run. Run as fast as you can and don’t look back. Run Lassie, run. Don’t turn around and try to save your partner… run for your life. Save yourself. If you like the overall ambiance of a rundown no-tell motel that you’ll find on Route 66, you’ll fall in love with this place. Knock yourself out. You've been warned.

Million Dollar View
We enjoyed our recent stay at this location. The waterfront location is incredible, and the view is gorgeous. Enjoyed the deck in the morning watching the sun rise and drinking coffee, and in the evening sipping wine and grilling halibut from Pikes Place Market. The view includes a wide vista of the Sound including passing ships, fishing vessels, and an incredible view of Seattle (especially at night). The location of the property is in a quiet residential area and is convenient to Winslow and Lynwood.
