Most enjoyable stay Jon very helpful. Would certainly recommend.

This a charming location and therefore very quiet. It is not on the "beaten path" but with modern digital mapping, not hard to find. It is large, clean and fully functional for a large group. There were nine (9) of us.
The kitchen was very capably addressed for the those who cook.
The best part for my family were the host and hostess: Jon and Lou. They were remarkably friendly and quite informed about the region and its history.
A more affable experience might not happen again.
I so enthusiastically applaud their hospitality.

The location was great and the facilities were clean and comfortable - just as advertised. The hosts were friendly and helpful - allowing us to arrive a little early and providing valuable advice as to the best way to tackle Snowdon. Even the weather was good. We really enjoyed our weekend.

Just as expected from photos and description. Living, dining and sleeping spaces all perfectly reasonable for a group stay. Everything required for a stay in the Welsh countryside. Large kitchen and dining area great for family meals and games. If you want bells and whistles go to a hotel, if you want functional, homely, multi generational provision at a good cost, this place does the job. Would definitely return.

Be aware of the extra hidden cost ! never at other places before
We were looking for relaxing family holidays and saw good reviews for this place so decided to stay
It look beautiful location and the host provided instructions in advance the impression was very well coming host it was really assuring but
A Few issues I need to emphasis
1 This is very remote location nearest village shop is ~ 2miles away the kitchen is well equipped but the host don’t provide any basic starter kit (ex:Tea Coffee cream ) which you get at most of the places specially so remote
2. They don’t have proper internet or powerful wi-fi as result if you want to watch any programme on TV Netflix it take so much time to down load you have to wait in the middle of the programme you are watching
3. They charge for the electricity bill separate after your stay we were given a bill for £54 .00 for electricity for 4 night stay (we didn’t cook and styed mostly outdoor)
4. in the initial booking although the cleaning fees is included if you don’t clean a thing or two they charge extra (for ex they were no happy that one cereal bowl a coffee mug and greater was not washed )
Also they expect everything back to the place where it was before
5. There are instruction every where to follow ( forget that you are on holidays) 10 AM is the deadline to leave the place otherwise they will charge you extra We have travelled so much till now this was such a strict protocol to follow
We were really happy for the rural quiet place huge for ourselves but there indoor games were for kids T/t table was removed during lock down as the host stated we really felt sorry for the loss these people may had during the lock-down
We accepted that we needed to pay extra for the pet we had as we choose pet friendly accommodation also by mistake the wet Towel came with us we posted them back as they are charging substantial amount for missing /broken items be aware! (as the host responded that to buy anything they have to go to Bangoor the travel cost is also included I guess)
In nutshell if you want to go away during Holiday and cook for 20-30 people and have special OCD to clean and tidy up then this is the place for you
I don’t write bad review as I didn’t had any bad experience so far in fact I felt the host was friendly
So just stating the Facts

Beautiful
Such a beautiful area with lots of hidden gems to discover on walks. Most activities that we did took between 30mins to a hour to get to. But the house so big and has everything you need. I know lots of things had to be removed and changed due to Covid but we adapted.

Great base for exploring N Wales
Excellent base for exploring north Wales. Very well equipped kitchen, plenty of seating and space in the lounge area. Bath and several showers clean . Small bench and BBQ area outside. There is no garden but this did not bother us as out all day with the children. Andy and Deb's always on hand if and very helpful if needed. Yes we would all stay again 😊

Perfect for family groups
We loved our stay here, it was ideal for us, a group of 3 families all with young children. They loved the bunk beds! It was warm and welcoming, the owners were brilliant at communicating before we arrived and made us feel right at home.
The pool table/table tennis was great fun in the big kitchen diner.
Co-op just up the road.
Thank you for having us, we'd love to return !

Comfortable stay. Friendly hosts. Cosy rooms, warm showers, nearby shops and eateries within a reasonable drive. A good location to centralise a walking break and to visit towns and activities in the region.

Great large holiday cottage
This cottage is great for large groups. It is a little worn but that makes it great when visiting with children and also when returning covered in mud from walking. The cottage has everything you could need for a comfortable stay (except a full sized bath!) we would visit again. The owners were very helpful and communication was great.Thanks.

The property is spacious with open plan cooking and living areas. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate large groups. A fully equipped kitchen made cooking for 11 a breeze. Located a short drive from Caernarfon, an excellent base for exploring north Wales and Snowdonia

Walk up Snowdon
13 adults and 5 children had a wonderful time on their Snowdon trip. Hose wa amazing a provided everything we needed for our stay. Facilities in the kitchen were amazing.
The family enjoyed the PS2 and the snooker table.
The weather was excellent so we were able to enjoy a BBQ and Al Fresco dining!!! A lot of dog walking went on by the locals who were all friendly and stopped to chat.
We can't thank Andrew and Deborah enough and all the family want to go back.

Lovely spacious property. Very clean and comfortable with great communal areas.
As a mixed age family group, the property was perfect for us. The bedrooms are large with plenty of storage space. The 4 bathrooms were all clean and well equipped. Entrance hall had lots of coat hooks and boot storage space.
Upstairs the open plan kitchen/diner was huge and offered lovely views of Snowdon. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped with all the appliances and utensils you could need. The separate lounge had plenty of large comfy sofas. Everyone enjoyed using the pool table and the table tennis and there was a choice of other games too.
We had a dog with us and the property is very dog friendly with two lovely walks from the door.
We loved our stay there. Deb and Andy are really friendly and helpful and made us all feel very welcome. They have put a lot of thought into what guests might need and made it feel homely as well as functional.
I would recommend Capel Tanrallt without hesitation and hope to return there someday!

A fantastic place for out large group of friends and family. Excellent facilities, beautiful setting
We had a wonderful weekend with 15 of us. The communal living space is great. The table tennis table and pool table are a real bonus.
Deborah made the organisation and weekend very easy for us. She has made such an effort to make the bedrooms cosy. We all slept very well on the comfy beds and there are so many bathrooms there was never a need to wait.
The kitchen has everything you need and the table would seat a party larger than ours.
We hope to return to walk in the beautiful countryside in the summer.
Thank you Deborah.

Great place. Best description is Hostel. The accommodation is very practical for hikers and adventurers with an entrance to cater for for coats and boots. Ground level if returning wet and muddy is great as you can hop into ine of three showers to clean up and warm up. Upstairs there is a communal layout with cooking facilities which copes brilliantly with group cooking needs. A great base and communal accommodation environment. Our next walking weekend is booked.

The photos do not really do justice to the room sizes. This is not a posh get away it is an honest home from home. There was everything we needed including two Christmas trees, and although I took extra crockery for our Christmas lunch I really didn't need to. One thing I would recommend, if you are a big tea drinker then take your own mug, I thought they were small, although you can simply top up using one of the many tea pots there. It was a joy to cook for 12 using the kitchen, I felt spoilt having two range cookers. The pool/ping-pong table was a wonderful addition which kept the children and adults entertained for hours. The beds were comfortable and being an mixture of doubles, singles and bunks, it made sleeping arrangements very flexible. The views were wonderful and so many walks and yet to close to Caernarfon if you prefer to wander around towns and castles and great for exploring the North Wales coastline. Andy and Deb are wonderful friendly hosts, we did not need them but knew we could call on them at anytime if we needed to. Memories made...

This amazing house is set against the most beautiful views and we did not want to leave!!!! We were a group of 6 adults and 7 children of all ages and the house boasted entertainment for all ages pool table tennis and lots more!!! The kitchen was well equipped for the adults (lots of fridge space for wine) 2 double ovens and enough equipment for a full Christmas dinner. The owner Deb was super friendly and warm and had s a wealth of knowledge and passion for the area and was close by if we had needed her. I can not fault a single thing about the house comfy beds clean with lots of space warm showers and living areas. We will be back again for sure already recommended it to 3 other people!!!! Thanks again Deb xxxx

I stayed here with a group a 10 friends and it was absolutely perfect for us. We were very comfortable here and had lots of space. The big kitchen was ideal for cooking group meals and we could all easily fit round the big kitchen table and eat together which was nice. The location is very scenic with lots of walking and activities nearby. The pool table offered great entertainment when the weather wasn't nice enough for walking. Andrew and Deborah were very welcoming and happy to offer us advise for walks as well as lending us maps and sending us mountain weather forecasts. I would definitely recommend this property to any large groups planning a get away to Snowdonia.

Capel Tanrallt is situated in a beautiful area surrounded by stunning scenery and provides the perfect base for a whole host of activities in Snowdonia.
Unfortunately we only did one and that was hiking Mt Snowdon on the Saturday of our stay. I'd had a call with Deborah and Andy before we arrived to plan for the trip and get some expert advise on preparing for the hike. Andy also sent a very detailed and very appreciated breakdown of kit and equipment we'd need and offered to loan us anything we didn't have. When we arrived Deborah also sent me a detailed mountain weather forecast with tips on what to expect on the day which again helped us be as prepared as we could.
Deborah and Andy were both very flexible and very accommodating both before and during our stay. We had 14 people staying, all of whom were hiking a sponsored hike organised by myself to raise money for a volunteer trip abroad in summer, we raised an incredible amount of money and summited Snowdon and back in an incredibly fast time that on Saturday evening it's fair to say we celebrated maybe a tad louder than we should. Even though Deborah had received noise complaints on our behalf she was extremely understanding and kindly came in to ask us to close the windows and have fun.
Overall an incredibly handy, comfortable, warm and large accommodation, owned by 2 very genuine and caring individuals who enabled a group of 14 excited novice hikers to have the most amazing weekend away.
Thank you!
Sam

I hired this place for a large work group travelling up from London for the weekend to climb Snowdon and go caving. The weekend itself was amazing and the place worked well for keeping us all together. It’s very basic accommodation (it smelled like a pet shop and there were a few dirty plates but nothing too calamitous)and functional for such a large group as we were barely in the property given our busy timeline.
What soured the weekend and motivated the 1 star was the host; narrow minded, nasty and unpleasant. After leaving the property I’d emailed (They’re poor communicators too. Slow responding to enquiries) saying how great the weekend had been and mentioning we’d left a few items in our rush to leave on Sunday morning (the clocks had gone forward and we’d an early start for caving). After a couple of days I received a response saying the house had been left in a horrible mess, that we’d needed to give them (I'm not allowed to say exactly how much in review but it was quite a lot of money) to cover the cleaning and that she felt ‘used and disrespected’! Given we’d been in the property so little and made an effort to tidy up before we’d left I was shocked. We’d loaded the dishwasher but apparently missed some crockery, one of the sofa had been shifted forward slightly, we’d not recycled food (Wasn’t even aware there was the option given no signage) and we’d left some food in the fridges (Unopened food stuff which couldn’t be taken all the way back to London and we were happy to pass on or for the hosts to have). Although surprising, I had got an uneasy feeling from the host before we left. We’d a big and very mixed group of people and I got the sense this made her uneasy.
What was even worse was she was essentially holding our forgotten items hostage until we paid up. Having replied to her email as such I was shocked by the nastiness and just how narrow minded her responses were. A huge polar opposite to what you’re expecting including personal insults and insinuations. She referred to ‘my own insecurities and inadequacies’; all I’d said was the place wasn’t in that bad a condition when we left!
I’ve experienced a lot in London and I didn’t think a small holiday rental in North Wales would be the place I’d see the most genuinely vicious, narrow minded, nasty and heinous behaviour.
Utterly gobsmacked. I’d avoid this host like the plague!

There were 14 of us staying at Capel Tanrallt from 23rd to 27th December 2016 for a family birthday on Christmas Day! 7 adults, 7 children and 1 small dog. During booking for Capel Tanrallt Deborah and Andrew were great and kept me updated on where we were up to with the booking and answered any questions I had. On arrival both Deborah and Andrew were there to show us round and answer any questions we had and then after making sure we had everything they left us to explore the massive house! First impressions of the house was that it was much bigger than the pictures on the website and it reminded me very much of a large house that you would stay in as a child for school trips. The house was very well equipped with 4 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms on the ground floor with a big hall for hanging all your coats and for leaving any muddy boots! Then upstairs was a huge kitchen / dining room and a large lounge with plenty of couches and a few throws in case you got chilly! There was a pool table in the dining room which was an excellent addition for the competitive amongst the group and was well played with. The kitchen was huge and there were ample pots, pans, trays, cutlery, crockery and bowls etc for us all and even for Christmas dinner! We stayed in most days but all ventured out one day for a lovely walk in the hills which was really enjoyable! I would definitely recommend Capel Tanrallt for a group getaway and we are hoping to book again some point this year! Thank you Deborah and Andrew we will be back!!!!
