Overall, everyone enjoyed the stay.

Property had great access to the beach with a minor walk through the Dunes. It could use some TLC but was very functional for a week at the beach. Property management group was very easy to access and work with.

The location was great, right on the beach and near anything you need for a vacation. The host communicated with us throughout the entire time and was very helpful. We would LOVE to visit and stay at this same location next year too!

Very nice week at Cape Hatteras. It's very easy to go to the beach ans you have a nice view from the deck. The house is perfect for two family. I hope I will come back soon.

We had a wonderful week staying at the Crab Inn, right on the beach and within close proximity to restaurants and shops. The views from the top floor were amazing and the hot tub was a great bonus! A few things need updating and a few items need adding but otherwise a great rental property.

Great location, upstairs ocean view, walk to the beach.
Location was amazing. Just across the street there was breakfast, grocery store was five minutes from the house. Beach was perfect. Not a lot of people which we all love.

Perfect OBX Getaway
We loved our stay at Crab Inn. There was an issue upon arrival that the rental company took care of immediately. It has so much space for everyone and is well laid out. The home directly behind is a single story so the view from the upper deck is unobstructed ocean view with gorgeous sunrises. The boardwalk to get to the beach is right outside the side gate. The beds are SUPER comfortable and the linens and decor is a great aesthetic for a beach house, and a lot of things have been updated (floors, bathrooms). It had a fantastic supply of games, dishes, kitchenware, flip flops, books and beach gear. A lot of the beach gear has probably reached its end and needs to be replaced, but we were still able to use what we could and enjoy long beach days. There’s a charcoal bbq and kayak to use, the outdoor shower was very convenient. Plenty of space for food/drinks—including a mini fridge on the first level which made it super easy when using the spa. Lots of amenities that made our stay easy and relaxing. There’s even a telescope to watch the night sky from the deck, and a cute porch swing near the spa. There’s hooks for a hammock in front of the spa as well (no hammock though) We drove up and down the OBX and it was so nice to have this home to come back to and relax. Bring your own towels, and read the guest book for great suggestions on places to eat and enjoy!

Perfect spot!
We had such a perfect week! I was pleasantly surprised to find that the house was actually even closer to the beach than I realized. And the beach path is the most direct one. The deck view was amazing. The house felt clean. A few outlets in the master bedroom were not working so we had to move some things around. But not a big deal and you expect somethings like that when you rent at the end of the season, like we did. We loved having access to the Koru pool. Walks to ice cream were great. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great stay
House is steps from the beach - you walk out the side gate and you are already on the public walkway to the beach. Great location - a mile north of the pier. Nice view of the ocean from the top deck. Took advantage of the club koru membership that comes with rental by visiting the pool, which is directly off the beach next to the pier, several times. Plenty of games including a lightweight, easy to carry to the beach cornhole set. Maggie was very communicative in answering our questions. Door lock was tricky at first but if you pull the knob toward you while you turn the deadbolt it locks and unlocks easily.

Good beach house for family get together!
Very clean, great view from top floor, great hot tub, easy access to beach, and sufficient choices of restaurants, grocery stores, spas, and shopping within 15 miles. Maggie, the property manager was most responsive and had the flood light bulbs replaced within 2 days. We found the 72 degree temperature restriction on AC very uncomfortable for relaxing and for sleeping.

Perfect beach house
My family of six (five adults and one preteen) enjoyed a wonderful week at Crab Inn. Communication with Maggie (owner) was very easy before our arrival and I knew exactly what we needed to bring (towels, soap, paper goods). From the moment we arrived we knew we had picked the perfect house. The house was ready early and very clean and there was a starter pack of paper goods. The house is well stocked with quality kitchen tools, books, games and beach items such as chairs, beach blanket and umbrella. The beds were all very comfortable. If you prefer fluffy pillows perhaps plan to bring your own (I found them perfectly comfortable but others in my family mentioned they were a bit flat). The three main bedrooms are on the lower floor and are very quiet- and ensure that those who prefer to sleep in or go to bed early can sleep without being woken up by the rest of the party. The view from the top deck is picturesque and the Adirondack chairs are very new- I enjoyed drinking my coffee each morning while watching the waves. There is a path to the beach right next to the house. When we had an issue with the hot tub- we called the local property management company and they came early the next morning to fix it. The house has plenty of seating for the whole family and hooks for your towels and bathing suits. This was the best beach house our family has ever stayed in. If I had my own beach house I’d outfit/decorate it just like Crab Inn. Don’t hesitate to book!

Vacation 2021
Our stay at Crab Inn was very relaxing. The view from the top is fabulous! We sat outside a few nights with a star tracker app and discovered what the names of the stars were that we were looking at! So many stars! We did experience a few issues. Non-working outlets in the master bedroom and the ceiling fan in the living room just started to fall from the ceiling. It was hanging by the wires. It was addressed immediately the next day. Our host Maggie was terrific and available. That’s really important. Our only regret picking the week of June 5th is that the Koru Beach Club was not fully operational yet and we didn’t get the full experience. All in all a great week in the OBX!

Getaway to the beach
Great view from top floor family room and balcony. Everything in the house worked and it was very clean. Comfortable beds. Not everything is new in the house and the jacuzzi has a low hum even when not in use. Never ran out of hot water in showers. Overall, very comfortable and enjoyable. Short walk to good dining places. Short ride to supermarket. Unlimited activities available. We really enjoyed Diamond Shoals Seafood and the Pohouse. Bikes available for weekly rentals. Friendly vacation neighborhood!

Perfect!
House was clean and comfortable and had everything (and more!) that we needed to have a nice relaxing vacation. The hot tub, outdoor shower, porch swing , picnic table and adirondack chairs were wonderful additions! Very convenient location and beautiful views of the beach from the house! The host was very responsive and quick to answer my questions.

Wonderful Vacation Home
The beach/lighthouse theme of this home fit well with the view of the ocean and the proximity to the beach. Like all homes in this area you don't need a gym, the walk up all the stairs and in the sand to the beach keeps you moving. The home was comfortable, well kept and had fabulous internet so we were able to keep up on work easily. Everyone enjoyed the fact that there was an outdoor shower and the beach access was right out the door!

Very enchanting classic Outer Banks Cottage, Great View
Very roomy, but cozy cottage. Beautiful sunrise views and of course ocean views all day from the porch and den. Very short sandy walk to beach, house is well outfitted with everything you need both indoors and out!

Great place and location
As described, the place is steps from the beach and about a mile from the pier and pool club. Great view from the decks, amazing hot tub, and full of things that you will need for the beach or to stay inside. Maggie always responded to our questions within a few hours and was a great e-host.

Fantastic place to stay
We had a great week-long stay. The location is perfect - I didn't wear shoes or sandals all week, the house is right beside the boardwalk to the beach. Extremely well-equipped house, with good cooking equipment, patio furniture, etc. I was surprised at how lovely it was to have a jacuzzi; we used it almost every day. The beach is wide and beautiful and uncrowded in front of the house, and the water surprisingly clear and warm. A stay here is highly recommended.

Trip cut short by hurricane
I have to start by saying that Our trip was cut in half by the hurricane, which as a huge disappointment. Maggie was responsive and helpful the whole time as we tried to figure out if we could make it. Once we got there the house was great and exactly as described and shown in photos. Some of the drawers stuck in the kitchen, but it was not a big issue. The walkway to the beach was right outside the house, and it was a short walk to the water, absolutely fantastic. The access to the pool and pier was phenomenal as well. My kids fished and ran back and forth from ocean to pool. There were riptides and huge waves when we were there and I don't know if this is normal or due to hurricane. But, it was unsettling and I was very grateful we had life jackets for our kids. Overall it was a great house I just wish we had been able to enjoy it more! And we saw baby loggerhead turtles make their way to the ocean from the nest right near the house- my daughters were thrilled!!

Good vacation home
I say it was ‘good’ for a couple reasons. The entry to the front door was nearly impossible to open. It took three of us and a call to the property manager to get in. Also, carpeting downstairs needs to be replaced. There is no garbage disposal and I spent a lot of time digging things out of the sink.
The area is very conservative. I’m not familiar with other outer banks areas aside from ocracoke, but there is a distinct difference.
That said, access to the beach is easy, there are several fun things to do within walking distance. My kids got coffees and ice cream and T-shirts close by. Two of my kids rode bikes to the Hatteras lighthouse, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
It was a great vacation and the supplies and games and bedrooms all were very, very good.

Southern OBX is the place to be!
The kitchen was well equipped, lots of pots and fry pans that were in good condition. The beds were comfortable which is important to us. The walls and floors are thin but that is structural. Both of the upper sliding glass doors locks were rusted shut from weather, but the property management company was able to get them open (by removing the locks) & provided wood to be able to "lock them"
The water pressure in both bathroom showers is low, but the pressure in the outdoor shower was great..... this ended up being the best place to get thick hair clean.
We really enjoyed the new outdoor furniture on both decks. We loved going to the Canadian Hole to go kayaking & paddleboarding..... also a great place to see sunsets. Walking to ice cream is a must! The cups and cones place had amazing flavors... a big hit for our group.
Overall, we had amazing vacation and the sunsets and sunrises are a wonderful reminder that we will get through this despite COVID.

A perfect view!
Our family of 4 loved our stay! Fantastic location - just a few steps away from the beach. The view (and deck) is amazing & feels like oceanfront. House needs some updating in the kitchen & bathrooms but excellent value overall. The owner (Maggie) was incredibly responsive to questions & immediately took action to resolve a fussy toilet situation! We took a day to enjoy the oceanfront Koru Klub pool as well as the hot tub at the house. It was great to have extra beach chairs & boogie boards to use when friends joined for a few days. The complimentary kayak is also a fantastic touch; however, we didn't have time to use. Don't forget to bring your own bathroom towels!!! We would definitely stay again!

Location is amazing!!
We loved our experience at this house. The location is amazing. Just behind the beachfront houses, but the house in front is only one story so you get a perfect view of the beach from the top floor. Plus, it's in a nice neighborhood but also super close to the stores. The hot tub was a godsend for us, as it rained the first few days we were there. Lots of thoughtful touches - boogeyboards, beach chairs, and even flip-flops!

Relaxing location
The location was perfect for what we were looking for, quiet and not crowded with an easy walk to the beach. The property owner was easy to get a hold of and responded to my questions within hours. The house could use some updating in the bathrooms and kitchen.

Nice place, amazing location
This was a lovey home. Two
Decks. Beautiful view. Hot tub. Literally right next to the beach access.
I would say that the home needs a deep cleaning. It’s not the cleanest. And the master bath smelled vaguely of smoke like the guest prior had been smoking in there :(
Besides that - perfect. Avon is great too. Small and low key. Has everything you need but not the hustle and bustle. Coffee, ice cream, several restaurants in walking distance.
Remember to bring your own bath towels!!

Had a great time at Crab Inn! Everything we needed, quick walk to the beach, and gorgeous views. Enjoyed use of the kayak and beach chairs. The private outdoor shower and hot tub were great bonuses.

Perfect Vacation Property
We are a family of four and this was our first vacation innNorth Carolina. We were super lucky to come across this property, it made our vacation perfect. Beautifully decorated cozy house located pretty much on the beach. Very clean and practical with beautiful ocean views. Maggie is a gracious host, she responded within hours every time I contacted her with questions. Thank you for letting us stay at your house, we will be back!

One word - Details!
My dad’s family has been visiting the Outer Banks since the 40’s, and I am continuing the tradition with my own family. Crab Inn was the perfect rental house! Every detail made it a home, rather than just another rental house. From the big outdoor shower complete with plenty of hooks to hang towels etc, to the basket of flip-flops, every little touch made it comfortable. The new grill made dinner even better. The view from the top deck was amazing even though there was another house between us and the dunes. We could see right over the house, over the dunes, and watch the sun rise over the water. Just breathtaking. The kitchen had literally everything we needed too. Oh and the huge kitchen table with the lazy Susan was a fun highlight! The location was great for grocery shopping, especially if you forget something right in the middle of cooking dinner! Yes. Speaking from experience! Shopping was within walking distance for souvenirs and fishing supplies. Coffee and ice cream were right across the street, too. The beds were so comfortable, which is important after walking out to the beach, playing in the surf, and fishing all day. And the hot tub! Sweet! I think our daughter logged several dozen evening hours on the swinging bench! Every rental house at the OBX boasts about being a “home away from home”, but Crab Inn actually IS! The decorations and comfortable family areas took the house from “rental box” to cozy, inviting, and relaxing. There was a kayak and a bike to top things off. The management was quick to respond with any questions as well. I’ve been visiting the OBX for almost 50 years, and have stayed in countless rentals. Next year, Crab Inn really will be our “home away from home” again. Thank you Maggie, for sharing this property!

Awesome Week!
Our family spent the week at Crab Inn and loved it! The house, beach access, and views rocked!
There was plenty of space for the six of us (4 adults, 2 kids). Very clean, comfortable, and everything we needed. We appreciated the beach gear and took the kayak out once (fun:)
Big pluses for the PRIVATE outside shower--great!
Weather was mostly gorgeous and we took long beach walks, fished, ate too much ice cream, and soaked in the hot tub. We spent a lot of time on the upper deck--awesome view and we saw dolphins!
We definitely recommend and hope to return.

Excellent ocean vacation!
Location...location! We loved the instant beach access and ocean views from Crab Inn. We spent most of our time on the sand with above average temperatures and warm waves. Our youngest is now a master sand crab chaser:) It was also great to have beach chairs available.
The house was perfect for our five. There was plenty of space, everything was sparkly clean, and the beds were extra-comfy. The hot tub was an excellent end to a long day.
We have found our new OBX favorite and will return to Crab Inn for our next visit (July!)
Highly recommend!
