About this house rental
Set on an acre of land and located on a hill above the historic village of Millthorpe, our accommodation is delightfully unique.
We offer a free breakfast on the first morning of your stay featuring our home made bread and jams and if the hens are obliging you can collect your own eggs and cook them up in our new kitchen.*
We now offer free pick up and drop off to Millthorpe railway station if you plan on taking the XPT from Sydney.
You'll be staying in your own private wing of the house, complete with your own lounge, kitchenette, dining area, bathroom, toilet and entry.
Our wing is adjoining so you have us nearby if you need any help or advice on where to go.
Our accommodation is perfect for groups of gourmet travellers, wedding visitors and families looking for far more space than your standard rooms.
There's loads of off street parking and an acre of garden to explore, and if you're arriving in the right season, plenty of fresh produce to enjoy.
We're a gentle stroll down to the hatted Tonic restaurant, Millthorpe Providor and Old Mill Cafe and the beautiful historic main street of Millthorpe.
Millthorpe is only 20 minutes from Orange and 30 from Bathurst and with our extensive local knowledge, born from being a local journalist, we can direct you to all the best places to load up with all the best that the region has to offer.
Our property has three bedrooms and will fit six people. All bedrooms have a queen bed in each.
As local produce makers and caterers we can advise you on all the best places to visit in the central west, and the best ways of getting there.
*Extra bread can be purchased if ordered early.

A lovely property that was welcoming & warm. Beds were comfortable. The property decor was very nice, with photographs & prints adorning the walls. Plenty of books & games to entertain you. We were there in a very cold artic weather burst, so temperatures outside were extremely cold & rain, so grateful for the warmth. Property was clean & well set up.

I travelled to Milthorpe to help celebrate my granddaughter’s eighth birthday. Location was fantastic. Close to school so I could pick them up and drop off. The house was perfectly suited to all ages and the girls had such fun reading through all the children’s books on the shelf. Lovely couple of days. Thank you for your hospitality.

A perfect setting in a regional NSW township that shouldn't be missed on any road or rail trip for those who are after a taste of the life and times of early Australia.
The homestay is quiet, safe, extremely well appointed, very clean and just perfect for a small group or family.

So close to everything, and yet so peaceful
A beautiful sandstone house, with all the amenities you would need for a comfortable stay - from the comfortable beds and the massive bathroom to the included Netflix and wifi. It was such a treat to wake up in the morning to birdsong, fresh homemade bread and jam (provided the first morning) and to sit outside for breakfast while watching the bees and butterflies dance around in the garden.
Mark and Sandra are discreet hosts but also so accommodating and generous. We are so pleased with our stay and would absolutely recommend it. And Mark makes the best bread!

Cosy stay in Milthorpe
We had a lovely stay in Milthorpe. The accommodation was well equipped with lots of foodie facilities and treats. It's a very short stroll downhill to central Milthorpe. Really handy after a large dinner or wine tasting and shopping. We enjoyed the fresh eggs and bread and being able to buy Mark's craft beers. We also loved communing with Fergus, the very sweet dog. Thanks for a lovely weekend!
