Great location, best of the past 3 vrbos we have stayed at. House could use a good cleaning and re-stock of basic items. We were short on towels for the whole stay and had to do laundry daily but as we left we found more towels in the second dryer downstairs. So attention to detail from house keeping would have been nice. Over all we enjoyed our stay and would go back for the location.

We took our kids and grand babies and it was wonderful. The beach access is wonderful! The whole family fit comfortably in this spacious rental. My only issue was the beds were a bit uncomfortable. Make sure if you bring a toddler to pack some outlet safety plugs.

The stay was good. We booked the house for myself, my 3 sisters and our aging mom. It was not as elderly friendly as i had hoped. Also we did find that some dishes and cooking items( waffle iron) specifically, were dirty when we pulled them out to use. I feel like the kitchen, bathroom etc were not cleaned and maintained the way it should be. We did have a smoke detector that kept beeping from low batteries. I texted the number and did get an immediate response and someone over to take care of it promptly. So that was good. Over all we all had an amazing memorable time that I hope my mom will remember always.

We enjoyed our stay. The beach access was easy for our older parents and they liked how close to the water we were. It was nice to be able to give them the main floor for bed/bath access and the walk in shower. The daylight basement is perfect with the recroom type setup plus bed/bath. Easy store access loved the wood fireplace.

This property was PERFECT for my family. I enjoyed cooking in the well stocked kitchen listening to the waves while my boys played ball on the beach. At night we enjoyed playing ping pong and soaking in the hot tube with a beautiful view of the stars. Not to mention the vase amount of books and every board game you could want. The beds were comfy and my kids loved making a fort with the neat corner bunk beds. I can’t wait to book our next stay!

We go to the OR Coast every year and this house was truly our favorite. Our kids asked us endlessly for weeks after returning home if we could buy the house! Haha — they made such great memories there. The location, home, and everything in between was all 10/10 and that’s coming from a semi-picky vacation rental person! Can’t wait to go back — and next time, with a new little guest!

Beautiful view and easy, direct access to beach. Expensive, for what you get.
House/kitchen needs update, missing formica on counters, knives dull, BBQ rusted and difficult to work. Chairs on balcony were missing, the ones there were old resin ones, some broken, others paint stained. Luckily the maintenance man was there and able to get into the garage to get out the nicer wicker blue and white chairs that are in the pictures. Carpet on stairway stinks and matted, one bedspread had a crusty stain on it.
Hot tub and hot sauna were nice.
Overall, big enough to hold entire family of 8, the view is what you pay for.
Probably would not stay here again due to cost, or would find a more modern updated home for the price.

Great central spot for exploring. The backyard beach access was awesome, especially with 2 small kids. The dishwasher broke during our stay. Communication with the rental company was quick and easy. The house was clean, could use some repairs but would not stop me from staying here again.

Read the fine print
The house was lacking hot water and the property managment team wasn't able to fix it. The dish washer was broken which we had been told it was fixed. The location is great but the property management, Meredith Lodging, only gave us canned statements and no refund on our stay due to lack of hot water.

Stunning location, dated kitchen
The location of this house on the beach was amazing. The sunset views of the ocean are completely unobstructed and the sounds of the waves were amazing. Access to the beach is right off the back deck. Our kids loved just running out the beach whenever they wanted.
The house has a good amount of space. Three big bedrooms plus a kids playroom/sleeping area with 6 bunk beds. The bunk beds have been updated and are much nicer than the metal-frame ones in the pictures that we saw. You could definitely sleep three families-of-four in this home with no trouble
As others have said, the house is pretty dated. I don't really care about things not being stylish enough, but I do care about functionality. And there were problems with function. The worst offender was the stove. It's an old-school electric coil stovetop that has trouble maintaining a temperature. And the vent hood just vents into the kitchen, so that's completely useless. You aren't going to be able to do much more than boil water with that stove. Given that there aren't many restaurants nearby, I'm not sure what people do for food - especially if you have a large group. Luckily the grill was working so we just ate food that we made on the grill for the most part. The kitchen is also really under-equipped with cooking equipment. And sharp knives are just piled in drawers in stead of a knife block. The whole kitchen needs a massive overhaul. I think we couldn't stay here again just because of the kitchen.
The property management company does a pretty good job with what they have to work with. The grill had full propane tanks and the hot tub was in good working order - that's often not the case at rental homes. The house was pretty clean when we got there with the exception of a couple things we found under beds. I'm sure the cleaning crew is overworked and they are doing the best they can. One annoyance was that most of the glass and dishes we pulled out the cabinets had some dried-on gunk that didn't come off easily. Maybe the dishwasher doesn't work that well. Again with kitchen issues.
The property management company also had a text message service for communicating with them. That was a good way to get questions answered without having to disrupt your vacation by waiting on hold on the phone. It was a nice touch.
The house could be a really amazing property with some updating.

Great location, nice home
Super comfortable home in a great location. Close to good restaurants, souvenir shops, and a grocery store conveniently just up the road. The house itself is great, large, comfortable and right on the beach. Our kids loved all the games and puzzles and game room. Fisherman’s Rock is just a two minute walk down the beach, the view from the top is breathtaking!

The house was exactly as advertised. It is an older home with older decor but the property was well maintained and clean upon arrival. The property management was very friendly and accessible. Beach access would accommodate all ages. Would rent again.

Nurses needed a vacation
Rented this house for a group of 12 nurses to get out of Portland, OR, as we clearly needed a vacay. The Oregon fires were a week before & our hospital had been evacuated due to the fires being so close. So excited, we pulled into the driveway of the rental to find an employee of Meredith Lodging. He told us that there was a leak behind the washing machine, & they found black mold. So we couldn’t stay at this rental. We immediately got on the phone with ML and they told us that unfortunately they did not have any other houses that were equal or better to rent to us. The best they could do was rent us a much smaller house that only slept 6, and give us the remainder balance back so we could rent hotel rooms. Or, just give us CREDIT back for a rental a different time.....not an actual refund. Which would mean our group of 12 nurses would be split up the whole weekend, or the weekend was canceled. Anyone who is a nurse/knows a nurse, knows how difficult it is to get time off, especially the 12 of us at the same time. So we refused this as a resolution. As the rest of the nurses showed up, we decided to demand to stay at this house. We looked at the black mold & it was behind the washing machine completely out of sight. And it clearly had been there for months with all the previous renters. The only reason they wanted to cancel our reservation was because they had just discovered it, & the owner wanted to turn the water off to prevent any further damage. Though the small leak had been there for months, so one more weekend wouldn’t have made a difference except for ruining our weekend. So we demanded that Meredith Lodging have the owner call us, so we could talk to them directly but ML refused. We then told them we were not going to leave & they finally agreed to let us stay. But they were crass and rude to us about it, even after attempting to cancel our weekend upon arrival with zero warning. Oh & btw, this leak had been reported for a whole week & they chose to not check up on it until the hour before we arrived. They did call us the next day & demand that we moved our cars to the grocery store parking lot several blocks away & if we didn’t, they would fine us $500. The house itself was awesome. Very clean, & nicer than the pictures. Location is amazing. The house is great. But unfortunately, I won’t rent from ML again. They have very poor customer service. They could care less if they ruin your plans once they have your money.

Property is seemingly clean but extremely outdated and run down. Kitchen sink is broken, counters are peeling, debris in hot tub, beds are uncomfortable, pillows are bricks. Location is the only redeeming factor.

Great location but the cleanliness could have been better.
The location was superb however the cleanliness of the property was extremely disappointing. Black mold in the basement due to the downstairs washer leaking for God only knows how long. Dirty pan in the oven, cobwebs in the bedrooms, Jewelry from previous guests in upstairs bathroom. Ran out of toilet paper and had to buy our own. The decor is dated and just thrown together. The pictures make this property look bigger than it is. If anyone has mobility issues this is not a property for them.

Beautiful view and beach, lacking in supplies
This house was spacious and comfortable for our growing family. We loved the view, private beach and hot tub. We noticed that the website listed a hide a bed upstairs, which it did not have. It also lacked on supplies. They only had one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom which we ran out of, only a travel size dish soap, which we ran out of, no hand soap, and no rinse aid in the dishwasher which prevented it from running. I left several messages to try get supplies. The kitchen counter was broken and held together with a band aid, but over all our family had a great vacation and a wonderful time in beautiful Depoe Bay.

House change
We did not actually stay at this property. When we were on our way to check in the property manager called and said a pipe had burst so they moved us to an upgraded house in the same area for the same price. We stayed at beauty on the beach. A gorgeous property and we were very thankful as we were meeting friends all from out of state for Thanksgiving.
I Would highly recommend staying here. The house has 2 king master suites, 1 king room and 2 queen rooms. We were able to spot seals and whales from the deck and enjoyed the easy access to the beach.
My only small complaint was the dishwasher did not work. We reached out to property management and they never did get back to us.
Also, not a big deal but worth mentioning if you are traveling here with younger children. The house has no bathtubs- just 3 showers. They also did not have anything for smaller kids I.e. baby gates, high chairs, pack and plays

Repairs and update
The location absolutely can’t be beaten. Gorgeous view. The kitchen left a lot to be desired. The stove and oven need to be replaced. One of the burners didn’t work at all and 2 out of the other three were so slanted it was hard to cook on. The whole room needs attention. No kitchen towels and several of the pans that were non stick were no longer. Had to buy pans to cook in. beds in the bunk room were very uncomfortable. All of them squeaked loudly when anyone moved. It is a shame the upkeep is not maintained. It is a beautiful house and the view cannot be compared.

We had a wonderful stay. First of all, the views and beach access were fantastic. The House was very, very clean and well stocked with towels, linens, and kitchen needs. There were lots of great games, books and videos for both kids and grownups. Our children loved the entire lower level especially the ping pong table. My husband and I loved unwinding in the hot tub and sauna. It was a perfect vacation and we’re hoping to return. The only suggestion I would make would be adding some more comfortable outdoor lounging chairs and/or chairs you could take to the beach. Otherwise we pretty much had everything we needed.
