We had a wonderful time at this well furnished very relaxing getaway. Everything was better than expected.

This place is fantastic!!! View over the lake is amazing and super clean. Loved the industrial feel and atmosphere. You will not be disappointed, and communication with the host was superb. I definitely will be back!

Grace's retreat was awesome!! Comfortable beds, enough seating for all, great deck with view and well equipped kitchen. I hosted a Father's day cook out. We had serving plates, cutting boards, and mixing bowls and enough utensils for all. Terry was awesome when dropping off/picking up the pontoon boat. We had a fun time on the lake and will be returning.

Very nice and will do again.

This was our second time staying at Grace's Retreat. We had the best time, as always! Terry was there at all times to answer any questions or requests. A bonus with this property....they have a nice tri-toon you can rent! We can't wait to get back again!

Excellent property!

I can't say enough nice things about this place. It's location which feels like you're over the water surrounded by just enough trees to keep you cool. Well appointed
inside and out. I took my 97 yr old mother and my 47 yr old daughter. Suitable for any age. Kitchen well stocked for even the most gourmet cooks. If you have a chance, go for it.

Excellent location for Smith Lake. Home has all the amenities to relax and enjoy the lake with family. Great location.
4.8
Well appointed unique property with functioning glass garage doors for door walls to patio.
Property owners easy to communicate with and responsive. Not uncommon with lake properties, there is a steep walk to stairs leading to dock that may be challenging for those with mobility issues. Reasonable check out process. Would recommend location and would stay again at this location.

Grace’s Retreat was perfect! The kitchen is perfectly stocked, the beds we’re comfortable and the deck and view were a hit! We didn’t walk down to the dock because it is quite a steep slope and we are a little older but it wasn’t a problem because the view from the deck was fine. Glad the trees still didn’t have leaves yet! We loved the garage doors but didn’t use them much because of the weather and we couldn’t get the screen to work. Distance to downtown Cullman was a short drive. I would definitely love to stay at Grace’s Retreat again if we make it back to Cullman. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Rented the house for a family cookout and birthday celebration. It was everything we could hope for. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed. Very short trip to the nearest stores which definitely came in handy a few times. The name describes it perfectly, it truly is a RETREAT!

Grace’s Retreat was a delight to stay in! Four friend gathered from different parts of AL to hang out, rest, eat good food, craft, watch movies and enjoy our friendship. The house was perfect for us. Lots of room with comfy furniture, a truly stocked kitchen, great beds with high end linens and the furniture out side on the expansive deck was high end also! No plastic chairs at this stay. God made the beautiful lake sunrises and sunsets which you can enjoy from the warmth of the house too. We’ll be back!

We loved everything about this home! Furniture and beds are so comfortable. Host was great! We will definitely stay again..

Visited in February, clean house, very responsive host, good location to visit Northern Alabama. Would certainly consider again, if we find ourselves in Alabama again.

Very unique and nice property. Very clean and the view was beautiful! Was perfect for our late Christmas gathering-equipped with everything we needed! We would stay here again when in the area! Thanks to the host for her availability!

Was big enough to fit my Alabama family for Thanksgiving. Great place.

Our family of 4 had the best time at Grace’s Retreat. We rented the boat for a day and enjoyed spending a day on the lake. The water was low, so we didn’t get to tube or ski, but it was nice to just cruise around and sight-see. The house was a great place for us to hang out, play games, cook,… There was ample supply of things we would need in the kitchen and throughout. We loved opening the garage door to feel the breeze and also enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the mornings and evenings. There is a beautiful view. All of the furnishings were so nice and comfortable. We were excited to see that there were 2 king bedrooms, both of which could be used as master’s.
This was our first time at Smith Lake and we were unaware of the steep walk there is getting to the dock, this time of year especially. However, the house itself made up for any discomforts (me and my husband) may have had and my son had no trouble running up and down to fish all day. All in all, we had a wonderful time. It was so nice and peaceful. We loved the house so much and would definitely stay again.

This property has to be in my top 5 of all time. Peaceful e quiet area. We saw deer from the back deck. Very convenient to good places to eat and close to cullman for anything you might need . Will definitely be back. Hostess was amazing. Beautiful uniquely styled and immaculately clean!!!

We had a Relaxing, Quiet week. It was wonderful. We had a wonderful time exploring the area, seeing the sites and tasting the cuisine from around the area.

We enjoyed our stay. We was there for weekend events at the park.

Nice, comfortable, and convenient home! Great views. Would stay again.

The house is perfect! Great location close to boat rental, groceries and gas.
The lake is magical! Clear beautiful water! We are in love!
The weather was cool when we were there so we got to raise the garage door while we cooked breakfast one morning. Such a COOL amenity!
It’s perfectly furnished, super clean, just a great place for a couple like us or a small group of friends! There is plenty of privacy.
We plan on renting here again!

It’s a wonderful location and home- updated and big rooms and comfy beds and couches. Wonderful deck overlooking the lake. Easy access to Cullman. We had a couple of power outages due to strong storms in the area. The owner went over and above to help us out in that situation. So accommodating and kind. This is a wonderful place to stay

Great place on the lake!!!

Lake House is unique and beautiful. Wonderfully stocked with a gorgeous view. But the decking is starting to show its age. It’s a very steep, downhill incline to the pier and water…so be prepared! You will need to be able to handle the going up and down climb from house to pier . There is a half way point with a landing that has 4 chairs to sit and take in the view, but the wood is rotting and one of our guest had their foot/calf go thru and make a big hole. The pier also has some rotting wood that we placed our tackle boxes and coolers over, so that we didn’t fall thru and make another hole in the deck. Once those issues are addressed, it’s a safe place to hangout.

We enjoyed staying here. The interior of the property is decorated nicely and has lots of amenities for a longer stay. The lake views are nice and there is a big deck with nice furniture to sit on. Host is very responsive. The only downside to us was the metal roof continuously expanded and contracted with the heat outside and AC inside, which made a loud noise and could be difficult for some people to sleep with. The shower curtains were both full of mildew. Otherwise, great stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay! If you have a boat, this is the location for you! Boat ramp is 4 minute drive from house. Note: Don’t drive down the road to the house with with your trailer. Take advantage of the culled sac and park your trailer in it. We left ours there all week and had no problems at all.

This is our 4th. (or 5th.) stay and it was perfect as always. We have tons of relatives in Cullman, Good Hope, and Tennessee...everyone puts the date on their calendar to join in the family reunion. We're all planning next year!!!

My sister and I planned this as a quick halfway meeting point. My husband spent 2 nights. Soooo quiet. My country house is quiet but even better here. New furniture in the den. My husband gave a big thumbs up for the electric recliner. Beds were comfortable. Start up pods for washer (3) and dishwasher. Good shades in the bedroom so no early morning light. Weather did not permit us to rent the boat on the day/s we wanted. Lights went out with the storm but it did not dampen our mood. One of the garage doors has a screen so we were able to bring the outside in when it was cool enough. Loved this unique feature. Bring your big boy/girl bug spray. The organic will not do. Bring the “Off”. The lake was calm and we jumped in with the noodles provided. If you have a favorite raft then bring it. Bring your kayaks but realize it is very steep. If you use the driveway to go halfway done then know you need to back up to return. There are no reclining chairs at the dock but we brought beach chairs which worked. This is a wonderful lake but people often mistaken it’s powerful current. Please wear your life jackets- even if you are a good swimmer. Would I stay here again? Yes. I wanted to extend the stay but it was already booked. Terry was only a text away which was nice.

This was our second stay at Grace’s Retreat. It was lovely. The house is so comfortable. Drinking coffee on the deck and watching the birds come and go was so relaxing and the perfect start of the day. Everything is so comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to cook for family. The fish weren’t biting so we were fishing but not catching. Great week.

We had a wonderful time!! My husband and the boys went on a fishing trip and brought some really big striped bass and a spotted bass while I relaxed and read a book while watching an amazing vow of Smith Lake!!! So peaceful and quiet. We will be back!
Thank you

We loved the garage doors! We chose a chilly weekend accidentally to watch the NCAA tournament and this place was fantastic. The home is very clean and the rooms are very spacious. We loved the modern feel. The beds were super comfy, kitchen well stocked and the outdoor deck space was perfect. Great sunset views too. We enjoyed yummy food and drinks just a couple of miles away at Brothers and had amazing lunch yummies at Whitlock's. We appreciate eclectic local lake spots. We plan to book again in the future.

Very nice property
