We needed a place to stay for Rock The South and came across this little cabin. It was just us girls so didnt need something massive. The cabin was cute and clean..We had no negatives at all.....But some FYIs if you stay....cell service was spotty and at the minimal, no internet (which we enjoyed the break) && be safe and drive a SUV or Truck its a couple miles back on a narrow dirt road that has a few washed out spots and can get muddy if it rains! Im glad we got there in the daylight because if it was dark i might have turned around before we made it, im from the country but i was second guessing the GPS for a bit! We unfortunately didn't make it down to the water but i will say the path looked a little grown up and definitely like it might give you a good leg workout down to the water and back up to the cabin! But in all we loved it and are definitely keeping a eye on it for next years adventure!!

This was a fun stay! We really enjoyed it. Getting down to the cabin was tough because I was on a car and the road had a little wash out. It was steep and gravel but we made it work. Would definitely come back! Beautiful view!

We rented both houses for 6 days. We loved it and would rent again.
True cabins, which was part of the appeal for us personally. Quiet, secluded. Everything we needed.

This is the perfect place to get away from everything. It is very secluded, the lake is beautiful but a steep hike down to it. We didn't have time to explore and see if there was an easier way to access it. Directions were a little confusing. When we arrived there were 2 cabins and we weren't sure which one we were to go to. Thankfully nobody was in the other cabin. They are marked 1 and 2, this one is 1. The cabin was very clean. We have Verizon phone service and barely had any service there. There is no cable and the TV channels don't come in, so I would suggest downloading some entertainment if you want it. Overall we enjoyed our stay here!

Lovely, slightly remote cabin
Property has what you need. (TV reception not so good, but...) We saw hummingbirds, hawks, a wonderful view of the lake, and morning and night saw a family of foxes! Beautiful, green, and with a great AC!

Cute, very clean cabin
Overall our experience was very good. The cabin was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Also, the scenery was very pretty.
We did have two minor issues. 1- our GPS sent us down a road/ driveway that was somewhat rough and steep. This made it difficult to haul our pontoon boat in and out. We later found an alternate route that was much better.
2- The blinds in the cabin were basically transparent and the people in the other cabin had their car headlights pointed in our window most of the night.

Ants
Ants were all over the kitchen.
The roads were almost in-drivable and I had no clue it would be that way..
The access to the lake was ridiculous.
The pier was sketchy, broken.
The cabin was stocked with the nessasary supplies at least and I thank you for that.
I definitely would not book this again.

A peaceful family retreat
The property featured a very nice view of Smith Lake. The cabin was definitely rustic but in a good way. Our family wnjoyed our stay in this secluded spot and look forward to doing it again when there is more time for a longer stay.

Never again
This property looked nothing like pictures on outside. Lawn was grown up and was mowed a day after we arrived. The water was not accessible for boats, swimming nor did the dock even remotely resemble pictures. The water was 3 foot ball fields walking distances steep walking. No disabled persons nor small children definitely could make the walk. Wasps Everywhere outside around sitting area. The only positive thing was the cabin was neat clean.

Won’t be a return guest
Misrepresentation of property! Close to water but was a nightmare getting to water! Owner didn’t return phone calls while there. Couldn’t get lights on. Electrical issues, air conditioning issues. Porch ceiling was torn out looked like due to wasp problems which our grandson was stung bc of wasp everywhere. Had to have 4 wheel drive to get down to water which we didn’t have. Couldn’t get up one of driveways even in truck. Thank goodness it didn’t rain until we were leaving otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to get out. Wouldn’t recommend to my enemy!

Amazing!
This beautiful property was the perfect stay for our family of five. My kids loved catching the fire flies at night and creating beautiful wild flower arrangements for the table! It had everything we needed and we loved the privacy and beautiful views!

Not for family vacations
Firstly I would like to say we did not stay here because we were scared out of out minds by all the confederate flags and confederate memorabilia displayed. Also it is nowhere near the lake, you can however see the lake way off in the distance. There is a labyrinth of dirt roads on this property and we were too nervous to try and find the dock. You must have a 4x4 vehicle to get in and out of this property, our car almost did not make it out. We were there a total of 30 minutes before we decided to leave. We had to message the property owners to get check in details, they did not contact us first. After we decided to leave, we messaged them and apologized for not staying and inquired about a refund and NEVER got a reply, not even a no. I think this is the last time we will use VRBO, we have never had luck with them and this last experience really just made me realize it.

Quiet, peaceful getaway
This was exactly what my family needed to get away for the weekend! The location was great, it was quiet and peaceful. Access to water required some creativity without a 4wd, but wasn't impossible. All in all, great location! Thank you!

Bringing it back
My family and I are trying to bring back the family tradition of "decoration day" so our children can see their past. Our stay a the cabin allowed cousins from 3 states to regather and reconnect before visiting the cemeteries where our ancestors and great grands are laid to rest. MORE of our family are wanting to join us next year!! Thanks guys for a clean homemade reunion and everything extra! The lake, the view, the quiet, the deer. Simply beautiful.

Quiet!
This place is a secluded cabin way off the road which gives you the privacy that you may or may not want. The road coming in to the house is a little rough but we later figured out that if you use the 2nd drive the entrance is much easier. Everything there you need! Wonderful weekend!

So peaceful. The perfect spot.

Not what we expected
We were extremely disappointed when we saw that the lake access was not at all easy. We had to walk/drive down an incredibly steep drive to access it. I would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle only. We had looked forward to spending time on the dock, only to find that it had broken away from the shore making it completely inaccessible. We made the best of the situation but future guests need to be aware of lake access-or lack thereof.

Great place to stay
Great place to stay at Smith lake. well secluded, only issue was access to the boat ramp extremely steep if you don’t have a truck or 4 wheel drive you will be walking. Other than that everything was perfect!
