About this house rental
This freshly decorated 5,400-square-foot home feels even larger than it is—with over-sized windows and high ceilings—making it perfect for groups of all kinds. Modern conveniences abound, and unique décor, such as “vintage” Riviera travel posters, transport you to a truly relaxing time and place.
As you enter from the front hall, you will see a cathedral-ceiling great room, with its grand gas fireplace. This versatile living space also has a TV and game table for those cozy nights when you just want to relax. Expansive spill-out spaces, such as the front porch, the screened porch, and the dining room and great room deck, to name a few, provide areas of respite among the crowd when needed.
Cooking and dining are a breeze with the spacious, fully stocked kitchen with sub-zero fridge and counter seating for 3—plus, a new grill just steps away. The kitchen opens to the dining room that seats 10. The great room table seats 8, the screened porch table seats 12—and there’s even a large dining/game table in the sunny lower level—in case the kids/teens want their own space.
The Lookout is the top-level of the Riviera, and it is the ideal spot for pre-dinner refreshments. This loft space comes equipped with a bar, mini-fridge, and sink, and sliding glass doors open to a large deck with comfortable seating. We see tales of many beautiful sunsets in your future! The Lookout also offers a high-end queen pullout couch and sitting area with an overhead fan, making this the perfect place to keep cool while enjoying the view.
Seven gracious bedrooms with authentic accents whisk you away to exciting Riviera destinations in Spain, Greece, Portugal, Morocco, Italy, France, and, of course, Monaco. Large bedrooms with lux linens, European style, and abundant closet space elevate your experience and allow for genuine relaxation.
Full of light and windows, the lower level of The Riviera has a large central living space with a sectional sofa, a 57” TV, and an additional stone gas-fired fireplace. With its ping-pong table and large game table, it is great for family fun. Sliding glass doors open out to the backyard and fire pit area—perfect for roasting marshmallows and unwinding once the stars come out! Deer can be seen moseying around the backyard, often at dawn and dusk.
The lower level bathroom has two sinks/vanities, a private washroom area, and a steam shower.
Two laundry rooms—one off the kitchen and one on the lower level (with 2 washers and 2 dryers!) are offered for your convenience.
This spectacular home promises a unique vacation experience.
With central AC, heat, and fireplaces—it’s a great escape for all seasons’ adventures: summer beach fun, autumn colors, winter snow falls, and spring winery tours! We only have a few rules: no pets, no smoking, and ALWAYS have fun! So make it happen! Book your stay now at The Lake Michigan Riviera Beach House!

Beautiful home that was perfect for our large family gathering. Property was clean and had everything we needed. Short walk to a beautiful beach. Towels, chairs and even wagons were supplied. Grocery store was close by for quick trips.

Perfect place for a multi family reunion - clean, well appointed, beautiful house in a great location close to the beach. I was initially concerned about the extensive paperwork required, but the village is really wonderful and it seems they want to keep it that way. Excellent stay!

Perfect place for a nice long stay with a big group

Our family of eight adults and six young children had a wonderful stay at this house. It is in great condition and beautifully decorated. The well stocked kitchen and dining/great room are spacious enough to accommodate the whole crowd comfortably. There are also other common areas for one or a few people to get away from the crowd. Bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and well appointed. The location is great, just a few minute walk to the beach. Be aware there is no yard to speak of and there is no hot tub even though it is listed on the house description on VRBO. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Our entire family enjoyed our time together at this beautiful beach house. There was plenty of room for us to gather, and each space was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The walk to the beach was just right, and we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets!
4.9
We had a great time at this place! It was nice that we had multiple areas to hang out, play games etc. We loved the screen in porch for dinners! My only complaint is the temperature of the house was very cold, so bring sweatshirts and sweatpants! We had the thermostat at 74 and it was still freezing. Also- lots of poison ivy in the yard so be mindful of where you step!

The house was awesome and fit all 16 of us with no issues. Plenty of room to hang out in groups or just get away for some quiet time by yourself. Every room and floor had its own theme and was a relaxing space for everyone. The short walk to the beach was perfect for the little children we had with us and the beach area was very private with plenty of room to spread out. Beautiful sunsets capped off each night of our stay and the family is already talking about when we can plan the next trip. Roxanne was terrific to work with and was very responsive to every question we had before and during our stay. The house actually lost power due to a tree falling on the power lines one night but the whole house generated kicked on and kept us all cool during the outage as the temps reach upper 80's. We had a great time and will look at returning to this property in the near future. Thank you to Roxanne and team for a great weekend get away!!

This house is perfect for a large group. Very well stocked with kitchen items. Plenty of space to spread out. A very close walk to the beach which we did! Communication was great with Roxanne and check in very easy. Would reccommend this house!

Once again our group LOVED the Riviera as it is so inviting and works incredibly well for families and friends as the downstairs is open and you can fit large groups of people around the kitchen as you prepare meals.
Short walk to a beautiful beach and the neighborhood is outstanding with a very short ride into New Buffalo.
We hope to continue to return! Thanks Roxanne for sharing your tremendous home.

This was a perfect house for our group of 12 women! The space provided plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms as well as sitting areas to do what we love best—talk! It was comfortable and a short walk down to the beach. We all had a great time!

Highly recommend this home! Our extended family stayed here for a long weekend and we were all impressed by the spaciousness of the home and the beautiful decorating. The beds were comfortable, the home was spotless, and the kitchen was well stocked with almost everything you could need for meal prep. We all really enjoyed the screened in porch and both of the double decks which gave us a chance to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. They also provided tons of beach towels and chairs, a wagon and boogie boards, empty cooler, and beach toys. It was a short walk to the beach, which had clean sand, but you may want to bring swim shoes or sandals as there were many rocks along the shoreline.
Given the cost of the rental, 4 star rating for communication with property manager because we were disappointed that there were repairs that the owners were probably aware of and that needed to be made - the gas for the cooktop in the kitchen had to be lit with a lighter because the electric igniter wasn't working (we were not told beforehand and had to call to figure out what the problem was and were then told they couldn't find a part) and the shower door in the basement didn't seal properly and leaked water onto the floor. Hopefully, these will be repaired soon.
Also, the air conditioning worked great, but even when we reset the temperature to make it warmer, it stayed super cold - directions for the thermostat would have helped. Overall though highly recommend this home!

We love this property - we’ve been 4 times now. Host communication is great!

What a gorgeous home! We had a large family group stay here with kids ranging from 1 to 8 years old. The beach was an easy walk away and we appreciated the wagon at the house and beach chairs we could use. The property manager was very responsive when we needed baby gates for the stairs. the multiple washing machines were a huge plus with kids.

Very enjoyable stay.

This is my group's fourth year staying at this property and it was great as always. We had 14 people stay comfortably for a long weekend. Easy walk to the beach, great amenities.

We loved our stay at this house! It was the perfect size for the 16 of us: my husband and me, our three sons, their wives, and our 8 grandchildren. The ping pong table got lots of use. We enjoyed the fire pit one evening and enjoyed having a couple of big round tables on the main level for meals and game play. The screened-in porch right off the kitchen is wonderful! The location of Michiana Shores is good for day-trips to Warren Dunes State Park, St.Joseph, MI, Indiana Dunes National Park, and (closest), Michigan City. The beach near the house is great. The rooms of the house are even more spacious than they appear in the photos. Supplies provided such as towels and paper goods are plentiful. We also appreciated the large number of beach chairs. Great experience!!
4.9
Very clean, very family friendly house, SEVERAL washer/dryers and free/clear soap provided (this was a big deal for us with several small kids), toiletries provided in all the bathrooms, any issues were addressed within minutes, tons of towels avail for beach and bath. We will return! Only note I have is that there was zero cell service for any of us so while we were trying to figure out how to open the front door, none of us could access the listing (not yet on the wifi). So figure out the door before you arrive :).

Beautiful home with many finished you would only find in something an owner had previously lived in. Home was tastefully decorated and well designed layout. Every space continued to impress the more time we spent. Perfect location for our weekend, close to the beach, downtown, golf, casinos and more!

This property was Beyond Beautiful! My Family of 13 really loved the house! The back yard with the fire pit was equally great! It was a short and easy walk to the beach on the nice carved out path. The beach was spectacular too and the sand so soft and clean!
Roxanne the owner was so easy to contact and always ready and willing to answer questions.
Definitely would rent this house again for another Family Reunion!!!!

Great house. Great time. Front door access is wonky.

The house is bright, clean and spacious! We are a family of 15 and we never felt cramped. The older grandkids loved the ping pong table in the lower level and did arts and crafts at one of several large tables on the first floor. The table on the screened in porch accommodated all of us for our dinners. One can see glimpses of beautiful Lake Michigan through the trees, and the distance to the beach is not far at all. The top floor offers a fun respite with a cozy sofa perfect for reading. I also enjoyed the porch swing on the lower level of the house. There were so many places to hang out and visit with each other, or easy to find solitude for alone time. We loved out stay!
4.9
We had a great weekend staying at this house! The house was clean and ready when we arrived at check in time. It’s a large house with high ceilings that make it feel even more spacious. All of the rooms are very generously sized, apart from the queen room on the first floor. The master suite is huge and a very nice room for a family with small kids/baby.
The kitchen was a good size, and the bbq worked well. There are also lots of games in the house for older kids, and the ping pong table was fun to have.
It’s a very short walk to the beach, which was super quiet and not crowded, even on a beautiful Saturday in June.
A couple small critiques: the main level family room is very large, but the couch situation can be improved. There’s only a medium couch and a couple chairs. As the main gathering area for a 7 bedroom house, it would be nice to have a large sectional couch to all sit together. There is certainly space for that. Also, the house can get very noisy/creeky. Even when walking normally in the main floor, it sounds like stomping if you’re sleeping in one of the 3 lower level rooms. Noise travels easily in the house too, as the main/second/third levels are pretty open.
Overall, we had a great stay in this house and loved the area and proximity to New Buffalo!
4.9
We had our family reunion at Roxanne and Colin's VRBO, which was spacious and beautiful. The yard was great for relaxing as well, and within walking distance of the beach. They were quick to respond and try to help when we had questions or issues with the Wifi. Thanks for a great stay! We hope to be back one day.

This is our second time staying at this lovely house. We plan on staying here again. We were a family group of all ages and the house was just perfect. It was spotless. There was plenty of room to spread out. There was lots of room for eating big dinners all together. The kitchen is very easy to work in and has lots of room for cooking. The walk to the beach is short and very easy. I would not hesitate to stay here. The owners were easy to work with and very quick to respond to any questions that we had. We all enjoyed our stay.
4.9
The house was wonderful! A beautiful property with fabulous views. Loved the walk to the beach. The fully equipped open kitchen and fantastic views. Lots of light, fireplaces and comfy bedrooms. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had a nice stay at the Michiana property in January 2023. Our group consisted of three families (all adults) who have gathered every MLK weekend for the past 22 years.
The grilled worked perfectly and the kitchen was well stocked for all of our cooking needs. We wish there were more glassware and hangers throughout the property, but other than that everything we needed was there. We did have an issue with the dishwasher not working, and were told that it could not be serviced until after our departure. Of course, with such a large group, this would have been very problematic. However, we did some research online and were able to solve the problem on our own.
The fireplace was gas, if that is of concern to anyone. House was supplied with a lot of games and the location by the beach can't be beat. Also very close and easy to New Buffalo, the train station, and several grocery stores. Parking was terrific and accommodated all of our cars. The house was very clean upon our arrival.
4.9
We absolutely loved this house! It was so beautiful and uniquely decorated. We had large family dinners and enjoyed the roof deck space the most. This property is a real winner! Thank you for hosting us and making my mothers 60th birthday so special!
4.9
House is elegant, comfortable, well appointed, and clean with easy access (200 steps) to a lovely, sandy beach. Have rented the house over 3 years for an annual reunion with friends. We plan to make the Riviera the location of our annual reunion for many years to come.
4.9
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. It’s a short walk to the beach, stocked with all of the towels and chairs that you would need. The themed rooms are spacious and adorable. Getting in and checking out was a breeze. We would love to come back and would highly recommend this rental!
4.9
Great location. Nice house.and amenities. Need to improve mattresses. Uniformly worn and lumpy. Rest of stay very nice. Our second year and we may be back! Managers very helpful.
4.9
We’ve stayed at this property three summers in a row as a group of adult cousins, and we really love the space, the neighborhood, and the time it gives us together. A great choice for a big family group.

Excellent house
This is our third year renting from Roxanne. The house is spotless and had all the amenities for an incredible ladies weekend. We're able to cook, relax and enjoy the beach. Cannot recommend this house highly enough. It's fabulous.

Beautiful lake vacation!
We had a great trip to the Rivera House in Michiana! The house was very nice, clean and as described in the listing. It was close to the beach for some fun in the sun and to watch sunsets. The house had more than enough room for all of us. The decks were great spots to sit, chat and sing with friends! Thanks for a fabulous time!

Great break!
Excellent property and amenities. Thanks!

Beautiful home!
This home is perfect for a large group. Plenty of space to be together or split up. Play games, read a book or just enjoy the view of the lake. The house is beautiful and very well stocked. We had a small problem with the lights not working in one bathroom and the property manager was very quick to respond and the problem was fixed. Our family loves this area and this home was perfect for our 11 adults and 3 kids. Thank you Roxanne

Beautiful place for a family or friend reunion
This is a GREAT house for a get together of friends and family. The rooms are beautiful and they have so many spaces to do things that you can have multiple groups having fun in different parts of the house.
Roxanne is an awesome host and most responsive. We have stayed here twice and loved it both times. If we come back to New Buffalo we will always look here first.
You will be happy you stayed here!

Coming back
Large and clean with enough room for a family reunion of 15 that included 7 children. Lovely decor and well supplied. Enjoyed fire pit for S’mores. Only 2 suggestions would be better bed mattress in Greece room and labeling kitchen cabinets. Kitchen well stocked but a little randomly organized.
4.9
We had a fantastic experience. The home is clean and beautifully decorated. It’s spacious and has great amenities. Multiple washer/dryer is nice feature for multiple families. It’s a short walk to beach. Good restaurants and shops within 10 minute drive. The top level deck is peaceful in early morning with a nice partial view of the lake.
Property management was easy to work with. Clear instructions and everything was well prepared.
Only negative was some of the construction/renovations going on near home, but this will be temporary. Constriction noise started about 8:30am.
