About this house rental

We are offering our place in for those who would like to retreat to the stillness of Lakeside's winter months to read, watch movies, play games, enjoy a fire in the gas-fed fieldstone fireplace, take a brisk walk by the lake or ALL of the above. All this for a mere $90 per night plus cleaning. We love Lakeside even in the cold of winter. We think you will too!

PLEASE NOTE: LAKESIDE HAS GATE FEES FROM MEMORIAL DAY THROUGH LABOR DAY. If you are new to Lakeside, please acquaint yourself with them before booking.

We have loved Lakeside for 40 years and we are happy to offer our place for you to use responsibly. The price listed is for up to six people. For eight people and an up charge, the Great Room can be opened up where there are two twin beds. Also in the Great Room there are 2 reclining sofas, a fieldstone fireplace with gas logs, and a large screen TV. Price for the added Great Room is $1660 Weekly. (The pictures showing the fireplace, twin beds and red sofas are shown here but, again, that room is for extra rental, not basic rental.)

Without the Great Room there are three bedrooms, two with queen size beds and one with a full size bed. The Master BR has an en suite and there is an additional bath that serves the other two bedrooms. There are room air conditioners that are able to manage the square footage. There is a relaxing sun room, a dining area, well-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer and gas grill.

THERE ARE GATES FEES TO BE INSIDE THE GATE FROM Memorial Day THROUGH Labor Day, so be sure to check it out. Also the seven day minimum stay applies for the IN-season only - June through Labor Day. Off-season, two night minimum stay.

Well maintained property with a surprising amount of space. A wonderful gathering room for the whole family at night. And enough kitchen space and utensils if you like to cook. And I do. The Lakeside Chautauqua setting provides ample opportunity to walk and explore. A short drive to the picturesque Marblehead lighthouse. Neat place to be.

This place was very charming, inviting, and super clean. Every room was well stocked with amenities, nothing was lacking. The fireplace added a cozy feeling. Will definitely recommend it.

We loved the few days we vacationed at Lakeside. The cottage is lovely; it was very clean and had all the amenities that we needed. We especially enjoyed the attention to detail that the owners used to create spaces to provide a comfortable and homey feel. This cottage was the perfect place to stay for a short getaway to celebrate my parents’ anniversary. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. It is walkable to Lake Erie, where a beautifully landscaped path added to the peaceful stroll and amazing views. Short drive to Kelley’s Island ferry and Marblehead Lighthouse. We would definitely book again in the future!

The house was very clean, neat and comfortable. Plenty of space for a family. It is beautifully decorated and serene. It had everything we needed for our 4 day stay. Location is also great! Beds are VERY COMFY (ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY)! Owners were very nice and answered our questions promptly. We loved staying here and will be back next year! We have been coming to Lakeside for over 25 years. This lovely cottage is in a great location between the pool and lake. It is clean, well equipped and met all of our needs. The cottage is roomy and offered plenty of amenities. The ice maker was a plus! The owner, Stephen was responsive and easy to communicate with.

This is about our 4th time renting this house and each time I enjoy it more and more. It is so spacious and has a fully stocked kitchen. It’s right in the heart of Lakeside. It’s always very clean and Stephen is so helpful and quick to respond if needed. We’re coming back in September and can’t wait!

We've been to Lakeside, Ohio many, many times. This cottage was super well located - a short walk to all the Lakeside attractions. It is on the "main" road, but traffic was so light that it was a non-issue. (Nowhere in Lakeside is the "traffic" an issue. Most people are biking, walking or riding in a golf cart.) The cottage itself is as represented in the listing - clean, spacious, and well-appointed. It was larger than I had expected, with a living area on one end, a galley kitchen, a nice dining room and a terrific sunporch, which is where we spent most of our time. We also booked the additional den, which provided some additoinal and separate living space. There are two bathrooms. One is attached to what could be called the master bedroom. The other one (which is on the small side) is in the hall next to the other two bedrooms. Laundry was nice plus. For those who don't know, you need to pay gate fees and parking to enter the Lakeside community, and its not cheap. But we love the place and find it worth the cost. Walks along the lake. Donuts at the Patio. Ice cream. Shuffleboard and mini-golf. The pool. But most importantly, Lakeside makes for great family time.

I brought my 3 young kids (2-7) and met my friend from Chicago with her 4 year old. My brother and his family was a block away. It was a perfect. The location is between the pool and park, which made it convenient to everything. The house was well equipped with anything you might need or want. Clean rooms, comfortable set-up. I enjoyed the sunroom with my friend after the kids were in bed and the great room was great for movies for the kids. The kitchen even had good quality sharp knives, which made meal prep easy and clean-up was easy with a dishwasher. Thank you for that! So thankful to have found such a great home in a perfect location.

My husband, children, and I really enjoyed staying at 501 Cedar! The location was awesome: close to downtown Lakeside and the dock, Hoover, the Rhein Center, and Grindley Aquatic Center. The space between the master bedroom and the other bedrooms was very helpful: the baby couldn’t hear the big kids in their rooms! Parking was easy. Easy and quick baseboard heat for a few cooler mornings. Many fans to keep air moving. Quality A/C units. We spent the most time sharing meals at the dinner table and all other free time in the sunroom. Just lovely!

Very nice clean house in an awesome neighborhood. It is located close enough to everything we wanted to do (island ferry, cheese barn and local restaurants). Quaint town with very friendly people. Would definitely go there again. Great host.

What a blessing to have found this cottage! The owners obviously love it dearly. From the perfectly clean and well appointed home, to the great location and wonderful hosts, the combination of it all made our trip extra special! This lovely cottage is very centrally located. Just a few blocks from the main square and lake. It is very neat and clean and has everything you could need. The sunroom is awesome for relaxing. The host is super helpful and communicative. Lakeside is an absolute gem!! Especially if you have kids, it's truly one of kind for all the games, swimming, art classes, playgrounds, live music, etc. This is our third year in a row staying at the same cottage!

We have rented this property 3 years ago, before Covid. We have been coming to Lakeside since the 1960's, it is a wonderful retreat for bonding with family! This house is well maintained, and feels comfortable and roomy,cwe rented the extra room with a TV sitting area and Twin beds. We had 4 adults and 4 children. There is no outdoor space for the children at the house, but it's so close to the pool, and a straight shot 3 blocks to Central Park. You do need to provide your own linens, but the kitchen is fully stocked with spices, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, sponges a a few kitchen towels, pantry holds trash cans and plenty of room to put your groceries. Ice maker was a plus!

This house was very clean. We added the extra great room which worked out perfect and added a lot of extra space for our family. The kitchen was well stocked and the grill was a bonus. The washer and dryer were also nice to have. It was in a great location for all the Lakeside activities. Overall we had a wonderful experience renting this Lakeside house and hope to visit again.
