This property was just magical with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The house is charming, warm and inviting. The owners were prompt and courteous, every question was answered quickly; we wanted for nothing. We would rent again from John. We could not have had a better place for our family to gather and reconnect. The time spent, the house, the view and of course our family time made this time so special. It is a house where memories are made and family are reconnected! Thank you!

We loved the location of the house and the size. It’s three levels, and the rooms are only on the second and third-floor, but it has so many rooms it is perfect for a family reunion. The kitchen is outdated but has the charm of the rest of the home. John was a very very responsive property manager. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone who is planning a large gathering.

Once again, a gorgeous vacation stay with 9 of my best friends. We swam in the sound, took walks on the beach, wrote, read and laughed. THE BEST house for a large group. Everything was so easy to get to. John is flexible, attentive and always around. You can watch the sunset and the sunrise from this house and take long walks. The gorgeous state park with miles of beach is about a 4 min drive. GREAT kitchen with two ovens. Plenty of everything. We loved it!!! Thank you again John.

We meet every year…11 of us. We have been college friends for 52 years. We loved the house. We are already planning for next year. The amount of bedrooms and bathrooms are perfect for a large group. We always have a formal dinner at night and the table was large enough for all of us to be comfortable. The setting across the street is great for relaxing with a glass of wine. It is tough to please eleven 71 year olds.. It was easy at this house…everyone loved it!! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This property was absolutely perfect for our family reunion after a LONG Covid separation. The waterfront location is gorgeous, the house is warm, homey, well-appointed and expansive enough to serve the needs of 20 of us - 15 adults and 5 children. Between the beach and the pool, we were in heaven and there was a nook and cranny for everyone’s pursuits - from a quiet reading to a lush lawn for a game of Corn Hole, from a kayak ride on LI Sound to an hour of children enjoying their coloring books on the front porch overlooking the beach! The Fords were quick to respond to every message and were delightful hosts sharing their amazing property with us! We hope to return! ❤️

A large spacious house that let everyone spread out or get together in groups. Porch is enclosed, so you could be on it any time. The home has everything you could need. The Pavilion on the water was another great place to hang out and watch the birds and clouds. Located in a very walkable area with town beaches to visit nearby. Plus, nearby was Hammonassett to watch sunsets on the beach, Clinton to kayak in marsh waters, as well as a trip to kayak around the Thimble Islands.

Overall, we were extremely pleased. There were 12 adult post-retirement brothers and sisters (all 60+ years) and in-laws celebrating a reunion. Eight bedrooms with lots of king size beds was a great attraction. The public rooms were big. The private beach and pavilion a delight!

Don’t think twice about this property, just rent it. Absolutely perfect.

We had a great time in John Ford's house. We used the shared pool and the beach area every day. The house is roomy and spacious enough for the whole family of 15 people. There is a lot to do in the area, Mystic Aquarium and Seaport and pick your own peaches and blueberries are a few minutes away and bike rides every afternoon. Mr. Ford was very helpful and couldn't have been any nicer. It was a relaxing and very enjoyable vacation. Thank you.

This Gorgeous Spacious Beach House was Perfect for our Family of 15 Beach Week! (Us, our 3 children and their spouses and seven grandchildren.) 1st Time in 6 Years we were All Together because our Daughter from Germany Showed up to Surprise us! The children especially Loved the Pool and cozy large screen TV movie corner! We All Loved the Large enclosed Porch and private areas and outside Grill! Our Private Beach with Pavillion and Dock to swim out to in the Ocean provided even More Fun! We had an Amazing Week of Family Fun! We also drove a short distance to Meig's Point Nature Center and Walked to an Outside Movie on the Beach down the road at the Madison Beach Hotel! Thank-You John! We Loved your Home & Hospitality!

We postponed our vacation last year and John was gracious enough to reschedule a year later. The property did not disappoint. We had 10 adults and 5 children and can’t speak enough about the multiple options and space for everyone. The house was spacious and had wonderful character and had room enough for the 15 of us comfortably. We loved the piano and sunroom to gather altogether, in addition to nooks and crannies, that gave everyone individual space. The pool was heated and was a great size with a convenient patio area large enough for a family clambake. The pavilion and low tide beach was perfect for all ages. There was a sandy area adjacent to the pavilion was perfect for little ones and ladder to low tide beach that was ideal for shell collecting and swimming. The area is perfect for walking, biking along the shore and a short walk to town. All in all, a perfect place for a large family gathering with very responsive hosts. We look forward to visiting again!

Finding a large property on the Connecticut coast to handle 17 of us was a challenge. This property was very accommodating as was the manager. Good points included very large size of the house, number of beds and baths, location right on the Sound (across the beach road from private beach), pool for kids in the back yard, indoor and outdoor dining, beautiful community Only negatives were unneighborly attitude of some residents of this privileged community towards "rentors" and loss of beach at high tide.

We hosted our three daughters, their husbands and 9 grandchildren at this amazing house. The lovely restored 1910 home provided a place for memorable family meals, games and quiet relaxing. The arrangement of rooms and baths was perfect for us. The pool and private beach with raft are beautiful. On historic Middle Beach road where we took long walks every morning to Hammonasett. John, Terry and Chris were so helpful and accommodating. We’re coming back. A place where memories are made.

We have a large family and this was the perfect house for us. Our grandchildren loved the pool and going to the beach everyday. Us "big kids" enjoyed the space to spread out, and just hang out.

Great house large enough for our kids and grandkids. Spacious enough to spread out. Well equipped kitchen and dining areas. Convenient access to the beach. Bedrooms comfortable in size. Owners quick to respond. Enjoyed by all!

This house is one of the most comfortable and cleanest houses we stayed at. The house is charming and there is A/C on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Plenty of space. We lost power during the hurricane and internet but we still had a great time. There is a pool that the kids enjoyed when the the tide was too high for them. During low tide we were able to paddle board to the raft. The pavilion on the beach is probably the only one like it in Madison, we didn’t need umbrellas or chairs. The kitchenware and linens were fully stocked. The kids saw fireflies, constellations, the huge crashing waves of Isaias first hand, and loved the sand. John Ford was an attentive and gracious host. Thank you for the hospitality.

Private beach with a pavilion became our favorite spot, but the pool was a close second. John and Chris were very helpful.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. The property was located across the street from the sound with a beautiful private pavilion to sit and relax as the kids played in the water. The in ground pool was stunning as it looked over the ocean waters . The home was spacious, airy, and accommodated all 15 of us just perfectly with room to spare. We spent most of our time in the front sunroom/porch overlooking the ocean, absolutely beautiful.

We had a truly special stay at this property! This wonderful house was perfect for our large extended family with kids and adults of all ages. We LOVED the location and the beach and new pavilion that John recently built was really great! We were able to take full advantage of the low-tide beach and the views. The renovations that have been done were evident on the upper floors. The kitchen is in need of updated appliances and flooring but we embraced it for the lovely beach house that it is and enjoyed every minute! We hope to return next summer!

Our family spent 5 glorious days here in August. It was a family reunion with a wedding included. Eighteen of us arrived on a Friday from Michigan, Florida, Virginia, Boston, Mass and Algiers. The house was perfect. The bedrooms were comfortable and everyone was very pleased with the sleeping arrangements. Towels and amenities were outstanding.. Granddaughters bunked together as did grandsons. The downstairs area was terrific, spacious and again perfect. Saturday we ordered 11 large "pies" from Sally's Apizza. They were spectacularly displayed in the spacious dining room where it was "everyman for himself". Everyone sat everywhere ...not much talk....just good eating My sisters and I grew up in Branford and Sally's was a tradition whenever we came home. Enjoying them here was a pleasant reminder of bygone years. Monday we had lobsters bought at a place Mr.Ford recommended. Just spectacular again. The kitchen was tremendous with plenty of room to put the meal together. Meat lovers got NY Strips grilled on a nicely maintained Weber Grill. The grandchildren played in the pool, set up lawn games and had the best time. A thousand piece puzzle was started and finished in the front porch. Games were played in the dining room. Conversations in the Livingroom. My favorite time was enjoying an early morning coffee on the covered patio as the sun came up. When I first saw a picture of the house I knew it would be perfect and I was right. Mr. Ford was most gracious and responsive. I had multiple questions from everyone about the house and asked Mr. Ford. He responded graciously and promptly for which I am grateful. (Made my life a bit easier) The Property manager also responded to some questions I had and if I owned property here, I would want them managing it for me. Our family has had a number of "reunions" over the years. The unanimous opinion of everyone was this was the best. It was the best because of where we stayed and how we were treated. Any family looking for a place to gather should look no further than here. We enjoyed out stay at this impressive home in Madison. The location was ideal as it was right across the street from a private beach. The home had many bedrooms and accommodated out large family. The kitchen was equipped well (but bring your own spices) as there were none. There is a washer and dryer for your towels and clothing should you need. And some many sitting areas, children had a place to wind down and adults had a nice sitting area right next to them. A very nice porch for dining and some yard space for outdoor activities. The front yard is right near the road its does have a beautiful stone wall but for little ones this is an area that they need to be watched. The pool was fantastic, completely enclosed there was privacy and security for children. This was done to perfection. As I mentioned the private beach across the street, the owner has provided a pavilion with table and chairs and brought in beach sand for the children to be able to play. That too was very nice. We really enjoyed your home John and would love to come back and enjoy more time there. I did need to reach out to the (Brad) property manager and response was immediate. One thing to note: There is no AC, our weather was very warm at the time we were there and everyone was comfortable sleeping

We had a wonderful time. The pool was an added plus for all the kids. Lots of room. Loved it!

Our large family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 61 Middle Beach Road. The house was gorgeous and provided enough space for everyone to feel comfortable. We had plenty of common areas to enjoy family meals and recreational time along with having space for small group activities or quiet private areas for reading etc. The adults and children enjoyed walking to the beach as well as relaxing by the pool. We also enjoyed local restaurants, shopping and fishing. Not having to worry about linens, towels, beach towels, and beach chairs was also a plus. We are so happy to have had the opportunity to create so many wonderful memories while staying at this home and are already looking to book next summer.
