The best!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place truly stands out! The hospitality is top, and the restaurant serves some of the best classical French cuisine ever seen in the Netherlands, both for dinner and breakfast. The estate is breathtaking, with a gorgeous park surrounding it.

The bathroom is a bit basic, but honestly, everything else more than makes up for it. Highly recommended!

Uiterst plezierig

De lokatie is geweldig, in het lieve stadje Vollenhove en omgeven door een mooi park. Het "paleis" is een fraai gerestaureerd gebouw met historische elementen en die sfeer draagt het ook uit. We hebben er overnacht in een prachtige kamer met proma badkamer. Daarnaast hebben we ook gegeten in het restaurant. Dat eten was ook van zeer goede kwaliteit en in alweer een sfeervolle ruimte en met heel plezierige en goede bediening. Zowel voor overnachting als diner is de prijs-kwaliteit verhouding uitstekend. Andere, vergelijkbare (voor zover mogelijk) hotel/restaurants zijn veel duurder.

Mooi hotel in een prachtig historisch gebouw

Prachtig oud historisch gebouw in het centrum van Vollenhove. We werden zeer aardig ontvangen door de manager. We hebben eigenlijk te weinig gebruik gemaakt van de faciliteiten van het hotel, omdat we bij vrienden in de buurt op bezoek gingen. We hebben wel 's ochtends gewandeld in het park. Pluspunten zijn: parkeren is ruim aanwezig, en ook voor de fietsen is een aparte stalling. Verder waren we blij met de airconditioning, en de mooie klassieke inrichting van de kamer. Na ons vertrek hebben we nog een prachtige fietstocht gemaakt door de Weerribben (Blokzijl, Muggenbeet en Dwarsgracht).

I like the hotel style, I felt there I’m living in the 18th century.

it is in very quiet village, and the staff is very limited, when I returned at 9 pm I found no one from the staff.

the staff were amazing and really helpful about everything. breakfast was nice.

beds were really bad. one side of bed was worst than the other. they couldn't change the room, because they were fully book.

A Great Stay At An Elegant Historical Property

Wonderfully welcoming staff. Relaxed ambience throughout the property. Elegant dining rooms. Large comfortable bedroom with good amenities in the room. Very nice evening meal (for a separate price) and an enjoyable breakfast (included in the price). Excellent value for money (in the week).

No lifts so if you have big suitcases, this could be a problem (that said, the staff helped us up with our light bags). The room we had had steps down into the room which made it difficult getting out as you had to step back down to pull the door inwards.

Highly recommend for a romantic getaway.

Fabulous service, an amazing historic building and awesome grounds. Amazing food, too! Magnolia in full bloom outside the window. And the property is just 15-20 minutes from Giethoorn.

This is a historical building and the rooms are a little on the small side.

Superb

Special Hotel with really special staff. You can feel yourself like kings but at home at the same time. Located at a picturesque park with lake. You are waking up with the birds songs.

Outstanding, beautiful, Hotel with a fantastic location

This hotel, is an absolute gem. Everything about it was right, the staff were attentive, helpful, and went well above what we expected. The rooms are comfortable, clean, with a great view. Breakfast was included in the price, lots of fresh fruit, breads, coffee, and the best honey I have ever tasted. This hotel is set in beautiful grounds, and has a beautiful and easy to get to location. The outstanding thing about our stay, was the staff. We also met the owner, who couldn’t have done enough for us. Another beautiful gem about this place was the pub located within the hotel. If you are thinking of staying anywhere stay here. We will definitely be going back.

One of the best overall hotels I have been in my 30+ years of international travelling!

An exceptional hotel in all respects: Unpretentious luxury, attention to detail, a most friendly and efficient staff, signs of the owner's good taste and love for quality abundant everywhere from the immaculately maintained gardens down to the smallest decorative artifact. Dining not to be missed! A genuine gastronomic experience!

It was the most beautiful & friendly hotel we've ever stayed in. The grounds and rooms are gorgeous.

The breakfast was excellent. Very good bread, croissant, home-made jams, great muesli, yogurt, fantastic coffee, cheese, etc. Everything very fresh. Excellent service, very friendly, outgoing, informative and helpful.

It was perfect.

renovated city plalace with a warm welcome

As it says a city palce. Recently renovated with lovely gardens in the heart of the town. There is a restaurant only for guests with superb food.

All good, it's a small towm but the local area if perfect for cycling walking with iconic Dutch landscape.

A nice room and building, sad breakfast

the breakfast was very disappointing. Very small cups of coffee that we had to ask for milk and sugar for. No bowls for the muesli and we had to ask for milk. One vegetarian and one with strawberry allergies, and yet meat on the table and sliced cheese on top of strawberries. Hard boiled egg, no choice offerred. Small bowl of sugared fruit that we didn't want. Exactly the same every day. One the plus side the bread was nice but over all not satisfactory or to the standard you would expect for this hotel.

Very helpful with renting e bikes at the hotel and providing a route.

Google maps had a little trouble directing me to parking at the hotel. There were no signs posted. Once located all was good.
