Cheap option with good location but confort just ok. A backpacker.

Location

Very small room with a small window- not much air going through. Basic bad. Shower with very little water- not food shop available nearby. Only good available is a vending machine with unhealthy chocolate bars and the line.

wonderful!

swimming pool lovely free yoga great shuttle service to and from town very regularly was incredible lovely beach free surf cheap pizza and drinks

looked forward to renting bike - was not able to rent this without passport or Australian id. Currently living here from England, so don't have Aus ID, or carry passport for weekend trips - so would be good to have an alternative

A great place for beach lovers with lots to do. And lots not to do.

A wonderful location just opposite Belongil Beach. Friendly staff to an older couple. Good cafe on site. New pool. A 20 minute walk to Byron Bay and regular shuttle buses to and fro. Comfortable rooms.

It was all good.

Exceptional

The stuff was amazing, especially to name the management of the place with Agustina in the lead who is great in communication and building a safe framework in this place,, the receptionist Laura who is a sunshine in the world and of course the guys who work in the service of housekeeping. They are great people. Holea, Blair, Jo and many more made my stay wholesome. I will come back.

Everything is fine, I hope the pool will be usable the next time I come around.

I was very thankful for the staff. Agustine in reception was very friendly and Pieter went above and beyond to sort out a mix up. After looking at our room I realised it wasn't suitable for our stay. I needed a fridge for my medication and the room didn't have one. I had not checked the website and wasn't aware that Wake Up was more a backpackers style accom than a hotel / motel. Pieter showed us a different option after I went back to reception to ask if they could recommend another more suitable place for us to stay. Pieter brought a bar fridge to our room for my medication and didn't charge us any extra. I was very appreciative for his ability to take care of us and rectify the situation with such care. That is something you don't forget. Pieter and Agustine are certainly an asset to your team.

good location, but unfortunately it was too noisy at night due to construction

the hostel is very close to the beach

construction noise from a machine at the future pool area continued through the whole night , which is different from what is stated on the website “noise disruption from 7am” (unless it means from 7am ~7am next day )

There was a bad sewerage smell outside the building at night (room was fine), the shower was poor, the floor was sandy and dusty when we arrived

clean, great location and comfy hostel

loved the location and found it was a blessing to be out of the centre some days. loved that surfboards were available comfy bed and clean space.

some of the staff were quite miserable a lot of the time. surfboards need replacing and more foamies on offer. rather stingy on the social activities.

very expensive room for no bathroom. also charged for per person in the room as opposed to the room it’s self. wasn’t aware of this prior to the booking, if I knew I certainly would of found accommodation else where

LUSHHH place. 12/10, stay here! super vibey, nice, worth the money

AMAZING hostel!!! free surfboards, rooms are sooo lush we gotta lil free upgrade to a 6 bed dorm, had a BALCONY and a hammock, very good working air con and an en suite! super duper clean. staff were lovely, whole area is so great, cool layout, events on every day, free bbq was actually so lush wasn’t just bread and a sausage, they had vegetarian sausages (!), cheese, onions, pickles and many sauces. fab eating and outside area. sooo vibey, everyone staying there was too. the location is a 20 min walk outside town but there’s a beach across the road from the hostel so like their own private feeling one which is quieter than main beach and so when surfing is less crowded, so am advantage and disadvantage, they also have a shuttle going into town every hour so that’s brill.favourite hostel ever stayed in

Decent option

It's a surf hostel so our expectations were pretty low but we got upgraded from a double room to a chalet and everything was fine. Nice atmosphere.

Location is a bit far from town but there's a shuttle

Great value, good stay

Spaceous rooms, clean common areas, great shuttlebus service.

I didn't like that the pillows are very flat. Asked for an extra but wasn't available. And we couldnt use the AC at night because someone was sleeping in front of it so was too cold for her. Really don't understand why hostels always have a bed in front of the AC.

the private rooms were very clean and just a pleasant space. we was on the ground floor facing out to the bbq area so that was nice too. the hostel offers a free shuttle to and from town which is good as it’s a bit out the way.

we’ve stayed in other wake ups and this one didn’t have many activities in the evening apart from 2 nights, it wasn’t a very sociable hostel compared to others. the location is a bit out the way but thanks to the shuttle it makes it easier. The shared bathrooms need a bit more of a clean they Weren’t the best.

Aesthetically beautiful hostel.

Very aesthetically pleasing but yet comfortable. Good range of facilities Happy travels desk outside reception so they can help you arrange trips if your going anywhere in Australia. staff were amazing and one was very good with a guest when the guest was being rude towards them it takes a lot of patience. shuttle to the town centre was helpful. hire of bikes and surfboards even though I didn’t use them oops.

kitchen area was mad legitimately every time of the day. there was no way to sus out which times are good for cooking. location was ways a way. not a very inclusive environment, as a solo traveller I had found it hard to socialise.

Awesome stay

The staff was very helpful and really very nice. Always around if we needed help. The bathroom and beds were clean. There was plenty of parking on site. And lots of games and sports to play. Wifi was great.

Not really a negative, but the location wasn't very close to the main byron drag. I liked that, and I also had a car. Yog could also rent bicycles from wake up byron so this really wasn't a big deal. They also had a shuttle to and from the main drag. But it's just something to keep on mind.

location, room was really good, the cleaner was prompt every day very well set up space and hostel place was really good to stay at and staff where really nice and helpful a lot better than some other places around

only thing was the rubbish trucks at 6am and some people being loud nye but apart from that it was pretty good
