Perfect in almost every way! The staff were great and very helpful, the pool was amazing, spotlessly clean, great location. I’ve never felt more relaxed. The music by the pool is not to everyone’s taste but it does chill you when you lie back soaking up the sun.
Taking a shower was the only chore of our holiday. It was barely big enough to turn around in and I gave up trying to wash my feet! But I suppose taking a 10 minute struggle shower is worth putting up with that is totally outweighed by all the positives.

The whole experience was enjoyable.
The staff, facilities were top drawer.
Jean-Pierre and all his team are a pleasure to deal with.
I don't really have anything negative to say.

Brilliant hotel! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome! Costas is brilliant and so welcoming he gave us recommendations on food and drinks and brought us to our rooms and he really stood out! Hotel is in a brilliant location, nice and quiet yet only minutes walk from beach, restaurants, pubs, shops. Whole hotel was super clean and very beautiful outside, breakfast was perfect and the pool area was great! Bar staff always very accommodating and very chatty. We wished we had stayed for longer! Jean Pierre is great, helped with making recommendations and assisting with transfers. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough, we will definitely stay again on our next trip!

Wonderful buffet breakfast, fridge in room, helpful and welcoming staff and very safe, comfortable environment. Only a 5 min walk to the beach down the hill. Great location beside the mountain. Very pleasantly decorated room and extremely clean! The beds are super comfortable and so are the pillows! There is a small grocery store just down the hill too you can get things in (and a 24 hour one towards the bottom of the hill as well).
The satellite tv goes in and out reception-wise but it's an island and not the hotel's fault.

We liked very much the hospitality of the people working for this hotel. Especially thanks to Costa and Jean-Pierre for the good advices. The rooms were very clean , the pool has a very classy atmosphere . The breakfast was very good , with many choices, very good. We will return for sure!

The staff were really lovely, the pool area and bar was a great and convenient place to relax. Would definitely return here again and recommend to everyone. Very short walk from restaurants, the bear and a supermarket.
Very minor but the shower in the rooms was not great, but a minor detail.

Everything was just great!
Shower trays are very small! The electrics switching off without key is annoying because we needed to charge various items. Even if one power socket stayed live that would help.

I loved that it was five minutes away from the kamari beach as no transportation was needed. The receptionist also helped gave us famous landmarks to visit and ways to find buses on the map and was very patient.

The room was compact and simple but the shower was small.

Everything about hotel Matina was just perfect.
Great location, great selection of food at breakfast time, staff constantly checking and topping up anything running low. Room was spacious with a good size balcony, room cleaned every day with fresh towels.
Staff very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is really nice, rooms are good, the swimming pool area is excellent. What really makes the hotel a perfect experience is the staff! Everyone is so nice and goes above and beyond to please the guests.
My only 'not perfect' part was the bathroom, mostly the shower area is really small. But that's a small comment.

Hospitality
I wish we had the he top floor with a good view as I requested.

My stay at Hotel Matina was a pleasant and welcome contrast to an unfortunate start in Athens. Great location (just a 10 min walk to Kamari beach, shopping, and restaurants), the general atmosphere of the hotel is relaxing and welcoming, with a great breakfast and friendly and helpful staff. Fun fact: They have regular guests who have been coming to the Hotel since the 70s! I understand why.
I honestly cannot think of anything that would have made my stay any better.

We loved Hotel Matina. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly. Each time we asked them for suggestions (restaurants, sight seeing, scooter hire) they were spot on. The owner gave us 3 of the best restaurant suggestions we had on the Island - local and family run. Large bed, breakfast buffet had a wide variety of foods, pool is cleaned daily, pool bar has a wide range of cocktails, room cleaned daily, excellent location close to beach and bus stop, great views of Mesa Vouno from the pool/rooms.
Beds were a little hard, buffet breakfast was served by staff (understand this was due to COVID but felt a little awkward at times), guests putting their towels on sun lounges around the pool and leaving for extended periods to save a position.

Breakfast offer; the staff were all very pleasant, especially the pool bar girls; location a short walk to the beach and 10 minutes walk to the bus station. Reception suggested 4 restaurants which we tried and all were very good.
Getting an outside table for breakfast was occasionally a problem - just try and get down before 9am. Sunbeds by the pool suffered the usual challenge of people putting their towels down early, but there were generally enough to go round. Beware of smokers outside if you have a dislike of smoke when you are eating your breakfast. None of these were hotel issues, just normal tourist behaviour - it didn't spoil the experience.

Great location only few minutes walking from Kamari Beach! and all the nice restaurants. The pool and nice bar with perfect music made it a very relaxing stay!
If I must say one thing: the shower was small but we’re getting used to that in all of Greece.

Perfect cleanness, great location, nice staff. Lovely place.
Nothing. It was perfect.

Comfortable room with balcony. Nice relaxing vibe. Lovely pool and spaces to relax. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent free WiFi. Poolside bar offering drinks and snacks. We loved the hotel cats.
The shower was a little small. As the hotel were correctly complying with covid protocols they would serve the buffet breakfast to us which may be slow when the hotel is busier.
