Liked the location although I note that there was at least 1 other hotel within the vicinity of the Alhambra, so the Parador isn't the only one BUT the views from the Parador (from the bedrooms & from the outdoor terrace) are fantastic. Good size bedrooms, satisfactory amenities, nice bathroom with bidet directly opposite the toilet (I usually note them aligned side by side in other places), lovely building & outside garden, a tranquil place to enjoy the sights. A one night splurge to be close to the Alhambra was good.
1) Minor, but I couldn't pay for my room with cash because we booked 2 rooms (my friend's room & mine) so there was just 1 bill, and even when our separate charges were below 1,000 EUR but because the total bill was over 1,000 EUR, I had to use my credit card to pay.
2) Breakfast was very "so so". The hot "to order" breakfast choices weren't good, they certainly were NOT made to order, more like they were already made & in the kitchen waiting to be served - my Spanish omelette was hard & cold, I expected more from the Parador.

The room was OK but unexceptional. The location is useful to visit the Alhambra obviously . Although if you purchase your tickets from a tour operator like Viator then you still have to go down the hill into town to collect them at their ticket office with ID so the location of the hotel is not relevant. You would need to purchase your tickets from the hotel, itself to save the trip not sure what that would cost.
Very overrated and overpriced. The hotel itself was once a convent and is fairly drab . The photo of the garden pool in their promotion is actually not part of the hotel but part of the Alhambra which is naughty. The front reception staff were dismissive and disinterested . The only map they provided was a blurry copy from an internet page that was unreadable. There was no one at the door to help us with our bags. The bar area was a wide barren verandah with basic table and chairs and no atmosphere. For the price we expected far more. By 6pm the place is a ghost town. For half the price you could stay at a fabulous hotel in the town and walk the 20 minutes up to the Alhambra for the day then go back and have a nice meal in the lively old town area.

Beautiful property right in Alhambra.
Ventilation rather poor, we couldn't get AC to work properly. Breakfast on day 1 was horrible - no service, no coffee, etc. We complained and got a bottle of bubbly as an apology.

Breakfast was a little slow but very good. Our room was excellent although the entrance to the toilet was narrow. The shower shampoo and soap etc were not what I expected. Bottles would have been preferred.
Guidance to gain access to the car park would have improved our arrival.

The location was fantastic and views the hotel was spotlessly clean
I didn’t like the hard sell at check in being told as a booking .com customer I would not have welcome drink and rooms are allocated to ground floor no view and they had a cancellation we have have the only other room available which was a suite and the price kept dropping , even a phone call to manager who was the person we were talking to total contempt for us as customer
The next day all this was sorted by an exceptional member of staff who apologised for his managers hard sell and waived the cost of the upgrade which has now meant that we will not cancel our booking at another hotel within the chain .

Outstanding location, be sure to book the car park. Great restaurant on the terrace.
Room was
A bit small

Restaurant was wonderful as was the restaurant wait staff.
Because of a faulty air conditioner we were moved to a smaller room. It was adequate but smaller than what we had expected.
4.3
location amazing
peaceful places ie terrace near reception with pond
Nestor's kindness and information sharing when we checked in
restaurant outside for drink before dinner i would say understaffed - we were waiting for a while and it wasnt full. staff looked stressed and as this is closely linked to the parador felt a bit mean given the exclusivity of the parador

Beautiful room as with any hotel of this class. But what we really loved were the serene gardens and private spots (the solarium, for example) where we could sit quietly, read, and decompress from a day of touring. We also enjoyed the fascinating history of the property elegantly told in signage (in English!) scattered about.

Location and breakfast
It’s hard when first arriving as it doesn’t show exactly address in Google map.

Location very good. very hardworking staff ( not enough of them) - felt v sorry for what they were having to do. too much. helpful e-mail about advance parking
*2 not a clear map / discussion of where we could walk/ not walk within the parador. some areas closed/ chained off without explanation. no areas to sit in the sun. no drinks / service in the lovely courtyard square.
*1. poor directions for getting to parador and parking arrangements ( poor desk man had to carry bags/ park cars/ greet visitors)
3. Also guidance as regards tickets/Al hambra tours/areas too vague - we missed the Nazarine palaces altogether - VERY frustrating. we had bought tour tickets but we’re not told by staff these excluded the palaces. we could have tried to buy a general ticket the day before had we known,
*4 gloomy, dull restaurant
* room modern and yet dull and tired
*lighting system / switches confusing
*ditto the air con. room too hot
* nice staff. too overworked

Location is so perfect for visiting Alhambra. Very peaceful. Hire a private guide as the crowds can be overwhelming. Dinner options are very good.
4.3
Location, location, location! The opportunity to walk around the area at night without the crowds was worth everything. The views are stunning, the staff was superb. This one should be on everyone’s bucket list.
While good, the restaurant could upgrade the food just a bit. They have a tendency to undercook the meat and fish. The staff, however, were excellent. Overall, an A-.
