The charm of the Hall was breathtaking!
It felt original and well kept. Though the old building had a “museum” like smell to it - but that added to the atmosphere and charm.
Service in reception impeccable.
Lovely and quiet rooms. We had 4 rooms for our family. Best breakfast!
It is a large hotel, so a long and “intriguing “ way to our rooms.

Super harte Kopfpolster.
Teilweise Schimmel im Bad an einigen Stellen.
Kein Klobesen bei der Toilette.
Der Wasserhahn quietscht bei Warmwasser sehr laut.

Quiet, peaceful and comfortable. It was beautifully furnished and perfectly located, everything you could want for a traditional Scottish stay
There was nothing to dislike, although checking out was a bit cramped and little stressful if there’s a wedding party checking out at the same time. But never ruined the stay.

Everything! Our stay was exceptional, we had a micro wedding with ten guests and chose afternoon tea for lunch time with a glass of champagne and then opted for the bbq for the evening and sat outside in the sun, the food was perfect and incredibly tasty, the staff were brilliant and very accomodating. I would like to give a massive thank you to Aimee Foubister for arranging our bbq at such short notice, the reception staff, the bar staff, the lovely bar man/chef who cooked our food and the waiting staff, you all made our special day perfect, I cannot thank you all
enough.
The beds are really cosy, rooms very clean, nice bathroom, very classy property, you would be a fool not to stay here

Breakfast was adequate, actually a bit on the cold side...... would have sent it back, but didn't have time to do so.

Lovely setting in pine woodland
Standard doubles in in dated, shabby annexe with faded artex walls and ceilings, dirty dado rails and threadbare carpets. Rooms with wallpaper peeling off walls, stained walls, bathroom basic and mouldy sealant. Definitely not a 4* experience more rundown, dingy motel vibe. Spoilt a weekend for us.

The location was excellent. From the airport a £16.5 taxi ride.
A Victorian house, now hotel, on lovely grounds.
The staff exceeded any and all expectations.
Charming, attentive yet not intrusive.
The mashed potatoes! were amazing. The menu varied with vegetarian choices.
Guests left cigarette discards anywhere.

The staff were all friendly and the food was great. The grounds outside were well kept and stunning.

The room was lovely and very spacious, and as it was my hubby's birthday, there was a card and chocolate for him. The hotel sits in beautiful landscape gardens.
The food was very a la cart, but also very nice. The child's portion would feed an adult no problem.
The bedroom was very hot, I should have asked for a fan. Maybe a little information on how to use the TV would help.

Decor and good ambiance. Pleasant staff.
Breakfast and lack of seating outside for having a drink. No aircon had to request a fan.

The location was nice
And the breakfast was nice
Staff serving could have been friendly
The bed was so uncomfortable actually woke up with a bad back for 130 pound you don't expect that the tv is very dated could not mirror screen as it was an old TV and the getting too your room having too use too lifts wasn't ideal I wouldn't go back

Excellent breakfast. Superb staff.

The house and the friendly staff
Being in room 8 with a big gap under the door and a very, very, very noisy graduation ball happening. Needed to sleep but it was difficult. Non ball guests should have been placed well away from the stairs and foyer. The window sash was broken so the window could not be opened and only one plug socket available. Overall, very disappointed

Great breakfast and beautiful hotel. All old features still intact.
Rooms need better sound proofing.

Exceptionally friendly people, great rooms, very nice altogether.
Nothing.

The staff were great and very helpful, the place itself was lovely
I found the food and especially the drink expensive. I had Fish and Chips, the fish was great, but the chips were french fries, frozen and undercooked with no crisp to them, most dissapointing for this calibre of hotel.

Location was peaceful and quiet but close enough to city centre and main routes.
Great choice for breakfast. Plenty to suit all.
Bedroom was very spacious with lovely big, comfy bed and bathroom was nicely laid out.
Loved the roaring open fires throughout the hotel.
Staff were very friendly, helpful and cheery.
Drinks in the bar very expensive

Difficult to navigate. Bar staff need more training.Breakfast buffet should be self serve and food warmer

Good sized room, well equipped. Fairly handy for getting into the city. 10 minute taxi.
Dining room was expensive for what it was offering.

Beautiful hotel and got a fantastic deal on this
I was double charged, but it was easily resolved and money credited back to my account

beautiful old building with many period features in reception, bar & lounge areas
breakfast service was really slow and majority was cold! neither myself or my colleague ate it! for such a nice hotel with excellent staff it was let down by breakfast chef!

It's a nice hotel. Wedding was on in the function room, but we did not hear any music etc. in our nearby room. Breakfast always good.
Hot water was only luke warm. So I could not have a bath, for example. These things for me are quite a big downside.

Service from restaurant staff at breakfast is always excellent. Always on hand ... ... ... .more tea .... more coffee .... .... more toast ... ... .
Afternoon staff hosted our birthday coffee/cake meal with aplomb at a secluded table.. Congratulations, Well done!
The hot water is over excellent. You cannot hold your hands under it for 5 seconds. BUT, this is a small concern for me. It means baths are quick and warm/hot quickly.
