Room was an upgrade, very spacious and comfortable. Facilities very nice, and very clean. The individual who checked me in was very pleasant and helpful.
The staff on check out were rude and could not have been less engaged. 2 of them sitting at desks just looked up when I came in, no greeting, neither of them spoke to indicate who would deal with my check out, I had to specifically ask which one of them was going to deal. Then the person who did deal was monosyllabic, no pleasantries, no goodbye, kind of extraordinary for a hotel that sells itself as a top destination for business travellers. Need to get the basics right. In addition, when I left a scarf in my room, and my colleague contacted them to arrange its return, they were very unhelpful and when she went in to pick it up, they were pretty rude to her also. So all in all, very poor.

The Chester hotel has beautiful rooms and excellent staff. Jess on reception was so helpful. The breakfast offering is still very good but we would prefer real coffee than out of a machine. Bar staff excellent knowledge and made experience even better. Toiletries used to be Noble isle but changed to more local to be more eco friendly. Bring back Noble Isle!
The toiletries- please go back to Noble isle. Sign posting re breakfast. Despite staying before part of breakfast had moved to totally different area and we nearly missed it. Coffee out of the coffee machine at breakfast. Wouldn’t take long to make a jug of coffee.

Staff are second-to-none.
Remembered drinks orders. Even though you are in the bar they are still mindful that you have a dinner reservation too.
Wonderful location and one of the best dining experiences in town.
Could not fault it in terms of service etc.
Shame it does not have a pool, sauna, steam etc.

but like a maze as hotel seems to be up of 3 buildings

I loved the location and the food.
the set up, having to go out of a building and into another for food/stay wasn’t ideal for me. the bed was so uncomfortable I didn’t sleep. the bath was pretty disappointing for a suite, the plug didn’t work although housekeeping did help. I was so excited for my stay but I honestly don’t think I’d return, not worthy of the hype in my opinion.

Superb decor and extremely comfortable- original John Byrne pieces throughout public areas. The building is a labyrinthine amalgamation of several granite town houses but staff offer to guide you to your room and other locations as required. Evening meal was good last time we stayed but perhaps even better this time and extremely good value for money.
The “maze” is a bit aggravating but staff are aware of problem and are exceptionally helpful.
