City Lodge is located just outside of the CBD meaning it is a short walk to/from the city center. The hotel is located on Vincent St., and the street itself was very quiet throughout the day and night. Check-in was easy and relatively straightforward. The room I stayed in had a comfortable double bed, closet w/hangers, a nice sized counter space/table with kettle and tea/coffee/cocoa, relatively large medium fridge, flat screen TV, ceiling fan/wall heater, and bathroom with shower. I had a nice large window that faced the side of the hotel but I could see parts of the sidewalk and streets, and having an outside view was nice. Rooms were to be refreshed daily, and my room was not tended to the day after I checked in, but coffee/tea/cocoa refills were available on request at reception.
I had few dislikes after my stay. My two biggest dislikes were that that my room only had a ceiling fan and the bathroom amenities only included a single wall dispenser of (I assume) all purpose soap. I left the ceiling fan spinning throughout my stay bc the room would get warm otherwise and I prefer to sleep in a cooler room. Also, I was told by the staff at reception that their was daily housekeeping but my room was not refreshed the first day after checking into my room. I had heard/maybe read online about safety on Vincent St. to be questionable. The street itself was not overtly dangerous, I felt safe walking from the hotel along Vincent St., towards the CBD for an early morning day tour, but there was a park close by that was apparently not to be visited after hours due to safety concerns. The closet had a copy of the bible and not knowing about religion of the country or of the hotel, I usually don't like to see religious texts in my hotel rooms.

ziemlich nah zur Innenstadt, zu Fuß zu erreichen; in 20 min am Hafen
Ziemlich laut zur Strasse; Feuerwache in der Nähe!

Low cost.
The need to pay a Bond of $140
which was reimbursed at Checkout.
No Hot water so could not shower.

Staff are great.
There was no hand towel provided, and someone snored loud from the room next to us

Fair price for CBD Auckland. Handy location with 24hr shop across the street. Staff were friendly checking in and checking out. Location was great for getting around.
Windows were hard to shut. Couldn't pull the window blind all the way down/needed a wipe as was dusty.

Cleanliness.

Location was perfect just walking distance to main centres

The location was ok that's why I booked it and a car park. The shared cooking facilities were ok also.
Staff were rude and unhelpful. It was pouring with rain and terrible weather and they ignored the door bell multiple times and left us standing outside with our stuff. They also did this to other's. Continued sitting in the office with no one there while we waited outside.
Also told no car park booked over the phone whilst driving up but emailed it was booked. Then told carpark was booked. And has paid at their affiliated accomodation as suggested in the phone call then did not want to transfer the parking payment and park over. No toiletries in room or hand towel. Bathroom not clean. So first impressions poor.

The Location and Kitchen facilities were useful.
The room size, filling the jug with water from the batnroom/toilet adjacent to the kitchenette area, toilet leaked after using it once. Had to use the fan to breathe in the room. Windows had safety latches which meant not enuf air in the room. Tv had normal TV channels no sky. Had to visit office to ask for wifi. Overall the room and room facilities and the lack of the staffs help. We had come with a group and their room was given to someone else and they bus tripoed up from Tauranga . So alot of muck around.

The location is pretty central. Seems to be geared more for backpackers (with a common area downstairs). WiFi and bed were OK. It belongs to the YMCA. Had some nice chats with fellow travelers. Desk in the room was very welcome - furniture etc. was a bit dated but functional.
- "All rooms are serviced daily" -> wasn't serviced once the 6 nights I stayed there
- The toilet was constantly running, which I reported the first day - promised to send somebody to fix it which wasn't done when I left almost a week later.
- They didn't give me the WiFi code when checking in so had to run downstairs again.
- There is a construction site close by, starting in the mornings at 6:00 and the rooms are not well sound isolated
- The soap dispenser is shared between the shower and sink, i.e. outside the shower cabin

Exellent location, everything at walking distance. All system like bathroom, TV working very well. Large kitchen with all cooking equipment. WI-FI signal super.
One little table and a chair in the room shoul be better.
3.5
Good location, affordable, shower and toilet in the room, friendly and helpful staff people, nice common area, fridge and cattle in the room
Bed was not 100% clean, quite a lot of hairs left by whoever, bit rundown interior already, bed was small only 1,80m in length so my feet stick out^^,for some reason you couldn't book for a week it would count as long-term, only day by day with different rates every day (we extended a day at the reception)

Close to the city

nice room had a fridge, a comfy bed.
did not smell.
I was woken up at 3am because of yelling from the outside.
Not sure what that was about, maybe had something to do with the liquor store?
1.5
it looked well maintained and it was in a good location
where do I start? my room had not been cleaned, the key was missing so had to stay in another room. there was no soap or bathroom toiletries. my kettle didn’t work and neither did the replacement so had to get a third one. the one and only face towel for a twin room also had to be used as a hand towel. there was a long blonde hair on that towel. one stool for a twin room. and it was too hot and a noisy building

Looking after our bags before check in and after check out.
Price was very cheap compared to other accomodations in central Auckland and wasn't too far to walk to CBD or Kroad.
Towels and room weren't clean/change while our stay even with sign up to ask to clean. TV is in very strange place and couldn't see from bed. Wall is thin so can hear other people and while we were staying, woke us up many times with drunk people back from clubing out late.
Not recommend if you want quiet.
