Friendly staff. Good quality breakfast. Plenty of parking. Good location within Ironbridge.
The room I stayed in was extremely disappointing for the money. The single room in which I stayed (Room No.30) was absolutely tiny and very basic. The bathroom was extremely small, and the shower was very small. The toilet is positioned extremely close to the wall and the loo roll holder is positioned exactly where your legs need to go, this meant even sitting on the toilet was a challenge! The shower head was leaking and the window blind was broken.

It’s location, and the general layout. Room was comfortable.
Our room was very good but the en-suite could have done with an update.

Nice location for visiting Ironbridge, pleasent staff
I booked 4 twin rooms and mine was one with out windows in what resembled a converted store room in a corridor. Unfortunately this was not part of the room discription when the booking was made. As the hotel was fully booked they could not offer us an alternative. I appricaite the staff tried to assist and gave a discount and a couple of free drinks. However i feel the site needs to update the room details so you know what you are getting. The room itself was very dated. The breakfast cooked items where lukewarm overall a disappointing over priced stay.

Great location, few minutes walk to the bridge and shops.
Clean and roomy.
Great food.
Staff were all great.
Some issues with heating and hot water, but staff dealt with them, so not a major issue.
The steps to reception are really deep!

Helpful staff, location
To many stairs to reach the room The room as very cold on arrival asked for a heater which we given but after an hour the electricity tripped so we had no heating again. The staff were good and did their best to help.
Breakfast was poor I have had much better in B&B's.

Very nice location near to iron bridge
Very very hot & small room window hardly opened

Chez Maw restaurant was excellent value in the evening and staff very attentive throughout our stay. Food well presented and plenty of choice at breakfast. Cleanliness good on all areas although outside tables left I wiped between guests
Attention to detail in the bedroom was lacking and the runner on the bed was badly stained. Surfaces throughout the hotel were sticky with an overload of surface spray. This was evident on tables, staircase hand rail and cabinets in bedrooms . Bed in room 15 creaked

The food was excellent the breakfast selection was first class and the evening meals that we had were amongst the best we have ever had. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We found the bed to be a little bit to hard for our comfort; however, I understand that some oc the beds are being replaced and a mattress topper would have been available if we had asked.

Dated interior of bedrooms and reception rooms etc. location is nice but the prices for mid week are over priced in my personal opinion

more electric car charging points and make these spaces clear no parking zones unless using charger.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, although very busy. The breakfast was good.
I didn't think to ask if our room had a window - it did not. It was dark and gloomy, with dated decor. It felt a bit grim and sad. The air-con dried the air and it would have been much more pleasant to have an opening outside window; all the photos on the website show bedrooms with windows, so it never crossed my mind that there might be such a thing as an internal room. I did go down to ask if we could be moved, but the person on the reception was just that moment telling someone else that the hotel was fully booked due to a wedding there that weekend, so there was no point asking.
The internal decor of the hotel has been heavily doctored on the website photos, as it's generally much more dated than is represented. I felt the price we paid for two nights was very expensive for the standard of the hotel.
The wedding guests were very noisy and inconsiderate, and the wedding music permeated the fabric of the hotel until the early hours.

Excellent location. A pretty hotel that fits with the local area and architecture but internally could do with some TLC and modernising.
Hotel room felt a little dated. I am not sure if it's the case but I have felt on my last 2 Booking.com hotel bookings, the hotel does not allocate as good a room or offer a better room if available at Check-In compared to me booking the hotel direct. Are Booking.com guests disciminated?

Everything about the hotel was very good
Information about the traffic problems caused by closed roads nearby- would have been helpful

Staff were friendly and professional.
Great location in Ironbridge.
The hotel was clean and well maintained.
The evening dining at the restaurant was excellent, and the food was delicious.
We were not made aware there were 2 weddings at the hotel during our stay. The weddings were situated in communal areas, resulting in us not being able to use the outdoor space, the garden, or the bar due to guests monopolising these areas.
At breakfast the restaurant was like a school canteen. Extremely noisy, children running around and being unruly. Our table was not laid and we had to keep asking for items that were missing such as cutlery, toast and hot drinks. There was no food left in the hot buffet due to the large wedding party, resulting in us having to wait quite a while for more food to be cooked. The staff were prioritising serving the wedding guests. They were run off their feet.
We were woken at 5:30 am on our 2nd morning by a very noisy wedding party who were in rooms on our floor. They were shouting ,banging doors, running up and down the corridor. We were unable to go back to sleep due to the noise.
We felt the wedding guests were given priority, and we were an afterthought.
We feel the hotel should not sell rooms to guests when there is a wedding booked at the hotel as the facilities are not big enough to accommodate weddings and independent guests, resulting in a poor stay for independent guests.
We are disappointed with our stay. We were away to celebrate my husbands birthday. Our experiences ruined our stay.

Breakfast was the best breakfast we have ever had, exceptional. The room was tired and required a complete make over. All members of staff were exceptionally polite and friendly.

Our room was lovely with a very large comfy bed. The en-suite had a bath and a very good shower and plenty of hot water
the breakfast was delicious too. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The grounds lead onto the park and river for a nice walk.
nothing to complain about

Modest breakfast selection. Some rooms are outdated

The staff at this hotel is lovely. They are friendly. There were multiple times where the staff accompanied us to show things instead of letting us know where they were (like the breakfast/dinner areas). The surrounding areas and the grounds of the hotel are beautiful. Lots of greenery and animals. From the breakfast area, you can see squirrels, robins, pigeons, and other animals in a beautiful garden.
The room was too small. The bed and pillows were both uncomfortable. The TV was positioned in a weird way, so that you couldn't lie on the bed and comfortable watch it. The shower in the bathroom had very little pressure. The hotel was in a beautiful area, yet the view from our room was of nothing. The internet connectivity from our room dropped out every other minute - the mobile network connectivity for phones was non-existent. The breakfast options were only to either get a full English breakfast or a continental buffet.

The receptionist when we checked was friendly and efficient and room service was quick.
Evening meal in the restaurant was delicious and waitress was excellent (eve of 5/4/23)
Receptionist on arrival was brusk and not overly welcoming- not a great first impression.
Breakfast was poor and the service wasn't great- i had to ask for drinks and toast and there was a wait for quite a few items to arrive on the grill.
Expensive for what was on offer. The waitresses all 3 of them were miserable and not willing to help.

There was ample parking. The location beside the River Severn is gorgeous; there are paths direct out the rear onto riverside walks. The room was spacious although on the top floor. It was quiet up there and the bed comfortable. The breakfast greeting and service was lovely. It was so nice to stay in an old fashioned hotel with all the qualities that that promotes. The bar even had a local real ale, very unusual and much appreciated.
The last day of our stay the breakfast buffet was not as hot as the other mornings.
