Beautiful location, lovely home cooking, highly recommended to try it out!

Breakfast was good , typical French .... bread , jam etc Plenty of coffee. Nice when the sun shines , beautifully furnished in period style.
The whole building was cold . Poor weather but no heating at all . Open fires unlit except in private kitchen for the owners . Wine expensive and no local restaurant unless you want a burger that is ?
We booked for seven nights but left after two . Little to see in the area unless you want to drive for an hour or more ( Angers is nice ) . Good place for an overnight stay or maybe in summer , but not when wet and cold . Guest lounge has large fireplace with stacks of logs ... no heating and fires unlit.

Gorgeous bed and breakfast, situated on a large estate in relaxing countryside, with very friendly owners. It was a perfect cultural experience, with rooms dripping with age and charm and yet updated with modern amenities like good electrical outlets and full-size en-suite bathrooms. They have a pool table, swimming pool, lots of trails, and tiny farm with dogs, chickens, and goats. Very gracious hosts, who were happy to whip out a bottle of wine and fresh salad for lunch, if asked (just note that food outside of breakfast is not cheap).
We were attending a wedding 20 minutes away, and location was perfect for that. Otherwise though this is a bit in the middle of nowhere. The village next door has only a single cafe in it, and bigger cities of Le Mans and Angers are each 30 minutes away.

The breakfast was excellent and plentiful; fruit, home made yogurt, fresh bread, home made conserves and plenty of coffee. The Chateau, its furnishings and the grounds are charming and the host very welcoming and helpful.
It was a shame that the Chateau was not able to offer dinner ( or lunch ) because the host’s wife was temporarily incapacitated, as we had chosen the hotel in order not to have to drive after dinner. However the host was very helpful in making reservations for us at restaurants a few kilometres away.
The toiletries provided in the bathrooms were not up to the standard one might expect in this sort of hotel.

An authentic Château life. With magnificent gardens, atmosphere and a ... swimming pool. Contemporary comfort in a historical building with history, charm, beauty and modern equipment. The owners were very cordial and welcoming and tried to arrange all our requests. Very kind.

Charming retreat in beautiful French countryside. The house and gardens are exquisitely maintained + the dinner was exceptional. We really enjoyed our stay, it was a delightful taste of France.
Breakfast didn't quite live up to the standards of the prior nights dinner. However, that would not stop us visiting again

Without exaggeration one of the most wonderful places to stay. The castle and its grounds, the rooms, all so very wonderful. Valerie is the most fantastic host. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Don’t forget to sign up for the table d’hôte when you’re there. You will be treated with a delicious meal with vegetables and herbs from their own garden. We will forever cherish the memories of our stay at Chateau du Plessis Anjou
There’s absolutely nothing to dislike

The whole location and setting make for a great introduction. The chateau looks great from the outside and has been in Valerie's family for 300 years. We were the only guests at this time and had the run of the place. We spent the afternoon at the pool and relaxing in the sun. We dressed for an aperitif and dined outside as the sun set. Excellent ambiance.

Excellent hosts, made me very welcome and food was great. The house has some nice history and grounds which I was allowed to walk around. I would recommend this Chateau to anyone travelling in this area of France.
