This is a beautiful location, cute little hamlet set in epic Normandy countryside. The hotel itself is geared to pleasure - excellent food, really excellent, beautiful grounds and really friendly staff. There is also a very high end spa to boot. The place would be great for an indulgent long weekend. Would also be a great wedding/party venue. The rooms are fine, not exceptional, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a little disappointing in terms of being quite no frills.

Idyllic surroundings and wonderful to stay in a beautiful Chateau with a nice breakfast. The spa nextdoor has very good facilities. The onsite restaurant (250m down the road) was very cosy with great food and wine and the owners and staff were very professional and accommodating.
Our double bed at the Chateau had 2 single mattresses (including one with a plastic / noisy mattress cover) which was uncomfortable. The staff at the spa were not particularly friendly and we were disappointed with our massages and reflexology sessions.

The shear enthousiasm of both Matthieu and Rita was overwhelming. We will be back!
no improvements. keep being the fantastic hosts that you are! a small detail is that we wanted to eat at the location, but they did not receive our request on time. so next time we were told that ringing them is always better. but the suggestion to eat at the local Italian restaurant made up for it. the atmosphere there was wonderful. no haute cuisine, but good Italian food!

A lovely property located in a charming French village of Villeray. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our complaint about the room (primarily the bathroom) was dealt with well and we were invited to see another room. As we were only staying for 3 nights we decided to stay in our allocated room. Very comfortable bed so a good nights sleep after a long day travelling. The set price menu included in our rate was very good in terms of both choice and quality. We were travelling with bicycles and the hotel provided a secure location in which to store them as requested at the time of booking. A good area for walking and cycling, and not far from the Le Mans racing circuit (a plus or a minus depending on your point of view).
The bathroom needed a decor update. A shower curtain in front of the toilet cubicle (no door!) and lack of a modern shower with an overhead shower (I don't call a shower attached to the bath taps a shower) were the prime offenders. There was a window in the bathroom that looked into the bedroom (& visa versa) which was very odd. The window ledge in the bedroom was directly above the bed which meant the potential for hitting your head on it was very high, especially if you are tall (and did happen as my partner is 6ft 5"). The window ledge in the bedroom should be removed as it is potentially dangerous (as it appeared to be made of marble?). The wardrobe door in the bedroom was not finished, it was not properly aligned to the side of the wardrobe (overhung) and the chipboard was clearly visible as the side of the door had not been covered with a veneer (like the front & back of the door). Details matter as people notice and at approx €200 per night needs to be better. I did check the hotel website and whilst pictures of the bedrooms exist there are none of the bathrooms.
Wine in the restaurant was expensive. Given that the Loire Valley is just down the road, and the Champagne region not that far away I could see little justification for the pricing (except possibly for the proximity of Paris and presence of motorsport enthusiasts some of whom, judging from the contents of the car park, would not "bat an eyelid"). A glass of champagne in a Micheline starred restaurant in Belcastel (near Rodez) was cheaper than at the Domaine de Villeray! As the hotel is less than 50km from the Le Mans racing circuit it is popular with motorsports enthusiasts, so check the Le Mans calendar before booking as the hotel gets very busy (we didn't). The restaurant is located in the Mill part of the hotel, some bedrooms are located in the Chateau part of the hotel which is located about 100m away, near the top of a 16% hill.

Antidote to the corporate style of hotel. A really lovely place to stay in a very pretty part of Normandy.

Back I time and sense of peace worth the cost for an oasis like this for weary travellers to Cherbourg!

Housed around a water mill, the setting is full of character, rural, quiet and charming. Room was comfortable and spacious, high standard of cuisine. Staff could not have been more helpful and were all charming. A perfect base for a few days in the Perche.

We stayed at the mill. Perfect for a family stop over (we have four kids). Good pool for the kids. Loved the river and surroundings. Wonderful traditional fair for breakfast and lunch. We spent the afternoon in the pool after checking out.

Great location, great room, very comfortable. We are a big family so we booked two rooms. Unfortunately they were not close together. Not a big problem but the rooms are located in different buildings. We didn’t have breakfast because we thought it was quite expensive with 4 kids. I would recommend this place as a great place to stay for couples without kids.

Very good food! The house and surroundings are stunning.

Cooked breakfast is just boiled egg. But ham is fresh.
Bed is 190cm, not great for tall people. Still a very worthwhile stay.
