the place is close to the center, a few minutes. the receptionist was very kind and upgraded the room providing a killing view from the balcony. breakfast was excellent considering the Italian standard. parking next to the hotel, included.

The staff was very friendly, suportive and proffesional. The 3 course differentiated dinner offered was fantastic.
We ordered a 3 bed romm - 1 double bed and 1 single bed. We were offered a 2 rooms room - us 2 in a bed sofa……… my mother in a room with 2 single beds… we woke every time one of us tirned… also the bed sofa took up 99% of our space in our room… . Hm… 😱

perfect location, relaxing stay. nice views. lovely evening dinners and service with views on the terrasse. basic breakfast, but we got omelettes when requested. Beach is faboulous and near, so is the walk to port and forte falcone.
very small room, hit our legs several times on the bedcase due to no space to get around.

Excellent and friendly personnel, the restaurant serves good food, and the views from the patio on the beach are fantastic. Padulella beach is on walking distance, and it's centrally located so you can walk everywhere.

The Villa Ombrosa was a beautiful property-----older but extremely well kept. Our room was located on the third floor (with a balcony) and had a spectacular view out over the ocean. The location was outstanding, with only a short walk to the port of Portoferraio. There were lots of restaurants in the port and also along the beachfront across the street from the hotel. We had chosen to have breakfast included at the hotel-----which was very good-----with an outdoor patio overlooking the ocean.
The hotel restaurant had a (three choice) fixed menu dinner each day (changing daily). We enjoyed our dinner the three times that we ate there.

View from the room is amazing!
Old hotel.
4.0
Amazing view, even in winter.
The location is excellent, literally 4 minutes from the ferry docks, and above one of the most famous beaches on the island (Le Ghiaie, white pebbles, and crystal clear waters).
Winter in Elba sucks: there is no one around and mostly everything is closed aside from a few places (restaurants, hotels, bars, etc.)
Nevertheless, if a hotel is open for business it should then offer the same level of service they do in other seasons.
Sadly, it is not the case for this property: the room was rather dirty, with hair and dust pretty much everywhere, paper-thin towels which are not enough in cold weather, a rather noisy A/C converter (even at its lowest speed) which failed to warm up the room during the night.
Not to mention that we asked for a room with an additional bed, and in the images, we saw there would have been a door in between, while it was one single room with a sofa bed (not ideal when you travel with your spouse + a relative).
My mother ended up paying an additional cost for a separate room, and she suffered the cold the whole night as she could not easily operate the A/C (no instructions).
The bed also did not have proper blankets/duvet for the season, and even with the converter on it was super cold at night.

The view from the rooms facing the bay is beautiful and the location next to the port is convenient.
Very old and neglected property. Facilities have an unmistakable and underwhelming 1970s feel. Breakfast involved malfunctioning coffee machines, the usual post-COVID painful process of having to submit your every wish to the staff and very limited options (a request for an omelette was met with a greasy and barely edible egg concoction). But the worst are the towels in the bathroom - thin, rough uncomfortable sheets that will make you look forward to check-out time.

The beds where really old and uncomfortable, the blankets where even worse!
You could hear anything from the other rooms, hard to have privacy!
