Lovely comfortable, welcoming olde worlde charm.

Historic building from Tudor era, with free parking and very helpful and polite staff. Spacious comfortable rooms. In a quiet spot, just 10' walk from the centre.
The wifi signal was very weak/nonexisting in our room (which was in the far back), although closer to the reception is excellent.

Location, parking and comfortable for a night.

Age and character of some of the building. Good breakfasts. Accessibility to town centre. Helpful staff and cleanliness of building throughout
Leak from shower door which collected at back of toilet and around sink pedestal, also had to run cold tap for ages before water came cold.

I enjoyed our stay although we felt the price for room only was a little high
No breakfast with the room

Free parking always a bonus
Full sized mugs in the room for a decent cuppa in the morning
Nice freshly cooked English breakfast
Restaurant not open in the evening, which is a pain for solo travellers
Very dated rooms, not the cleanest bathroom although good shower, it is a very old building with original beams etc which Isn’t great if you are a traveller that gets the heebergeebies 😂

The hotel is 15 minutes from the center of the city and 15 minutes from Hythe train station both in opposite directions on foot. They gave me a room outside the main hotel, spacious and comfortable, although it was right next to the road and because of the warm weather it was a bit noisy. I had stayed before here and I would stay again.
Nothing really

Nice main building, friendly staff at breakfast and check out.
At £109 for room only, it was expensive. I was underwhelmed by the room that whilst being very clean had shabby fittings and a scuffy carpet. The only reason I made the booking at this particular hotel was in the hope I would have a period room in the main building. Unfortunately, my room was in the annex. If the room rate had been less I would have been happy but at that price point I expected more. This is the first time I have ever posted a slightly negative review.

Real old fashioned looking just what we wanted
Felt like we went back in time.

Service excellent, accommodation very good, shower excellent.
Location was about 1 mile from the High Street, no dinner or lunch served.
7.0 / 10.0
The old feel with the wooden beams and country feel when it is still a central location.
The rooms varied greatly, we stayed in 2 rooms that were opposite ends of the hotel. 1 room was very old and needed TLC and the other room was more modern but still appeared run down.
The restaurant was closed and we were pre warned about this.

location was great for what we needed
hotel was clean
reception staff were lovely
shower in room 211 didn’t work
we had to wait a long time for breakfast order to be taken and had to keep asking for replacement such as orange juice yoghurt etc as all had run out 8.30-9.00am
bed in room 212, 211 and 218 were all very lumpy

The room I ended up in was OK.
The building is very old and there is a fair amount of going up and down stairs to get to the far end of the building. That would be fine if it were necessary. My question is why I was put at the far end of the building, very close to a traffic roundabout in a VERY noisy room. I complained because there was no way I could have slept in such a room, naturally there was a much better room available but for some reason they decided to give me a noisy room at the far end of the building. Here's an idea: when somebody is staying with you for the first time, make them want to go back.

The hotel was lovely and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Would have been perfect if the bar stayed open later.
Only that the bar closed early.

A real Tudor time hotel! Sleep with history!
A real Tudor time hotel whose sound isolation is not very well.

If they did evening meals as the local area had nowhere to go to ( restaurant or pubs that served food).
