Spacious lovely old traditional inside
A little tired

location ideal

location - was only hotel near venue in Wetherby
it needs a good refurb. our room was tired. Curtains ill fitting, room felt cold - unable to put heating on. fitness room not fit for purpose - needs new, safer equipment.
3.8
Nice property and staff and good food.
Unfortunately very dated, way too hot and in need of updating.

The surrounding were lovely
I rang at least three times prior to my stay to ask if the a la carte menu was on, no one got back to me despite saying they would. When I got there and asked they said a la carte was never on in December which I could have been told the three times I rang

The location for a wedding
Food

Room was comfortable. All areas well staffed.
Alcohol was quite expensive. One of the staff was quite bossy.

The staff and breakfast were very good. After a long drive, and feeling very tired, it took me ages to find the place. I asked the hotel for directions in advance but was told to come off the motorway at Wetherby services and they were about 3 miles away. I assumed that it would be clear if i headed for the centre. It wasn't. I drove all over Wetherby until I saw a supermarket and asked a kind gentleman who knew where it was. It's a long way out of Wetherby. The hotel was ok, but expensive for what they were offering. I had a second booking there for the return journey but I cancelled it.

Convenience
Distance from parking space to room. Room not conducive for use by tall people. Dinner and breakfast kitchen staff not prompt ,had to wait unacceptable time for service.

Very friendly staff, food was nice in the restaurant. Easy access and location for our trip. Was quiet and well presented. Spa was fun not too busy so that was good.
The bathroom needs more updating, shower head would not stay fixed and bath chipped. No plug sockets near bed so had to request extension lead for CPAP. Small window did not allow much air so was a little stuffy and no ac or fan in room.

Did not expect to pay for second night as was with voucher gym broke down no electric had to keep asking for milk coffee tea etc not enough in the room
Bath breakfast

Lovely location, good parking, veery nice helpful staff, comfortable bed, great facilities
Only disappointment was the bathroom. Lovely size, beautiful decor but wash basin small semicircle with large central tap. Couldn’t fill the kettle or wash face very easily. Water pressure in shower was ferocious and couldn’t be adjusted.

Good what I had nicely situated on the room we had a little off a poor veiw
No complaints
3.8
Breakfast was excellent and good value for money.
3.8
Good breakfast and restaurant, lovely grounds and easy check in/out
Bed had stains on arrival and our key cards kept deactivating, we got locked out of our room and had to go to reception 3 times to get them activated over a 3 night stay.
The shower also kept loosing pressure or not turning on at all.
3.8
Good comfy beds, nice room
Initial problem checking in as not allocated Club room as usual. Reception sorted it out though.
3.8
Attractive hotel with well maintained grounds.
The spa was basic, over subscribed and the hot tubs were filthy.
Breakfast was ok but for someone who loves continental breakfasts, the lack of variety was disappointing.

It was looking a bit tired. Food was average.

Not much
The door to my room was badly chipped & should have been fixed before being given to a guest. The heating was off & when I turned it on it was only luke warm. The hotel felt soulless.
3.8
friendly reception staff. nice touches in the room like port and chocolates.
food…just awful. The restaurant staff and bar staff were sullen and unhelpful.
3.8
it was for a family wedding Lovely location clean friendly good value

Dated rooms, overpriced, staff not very helpful didn’t give us any info about breakfast or check out times when checking inn
3.8
staff lovely
rooms nice
bit old fashioned in public areas but some nice areas can imagine it being nice in summer
Rooms were stifling hot even with window open
bar closed early
Breakfast not the best. Bland scrambled eggs.
some fresh fruit would have been nice.

great location just off the A1

The breakfast, especially the fried bread…..well worth the calories!
The tipple and chocolates in the room.
I was especially pleased to have a Nespresso coffee machine in the room…..really hit the spot.
Sadly the carpet in the room had an iron burn mark……the way some guests treat facilities is beyond my comprehension. It makes one wonder how they treat their own homes?
This is in no way a criticism of the hotel but more a observation of the behaviour of some of its guests.

Was a really lovely stay the staff are amazing warm an extremely attentive a the bed was the most comfortable Iv slept excluding my own.
Tv abit dated but wasn’t there for the tv

Breakfast was great but the room and staff were exceptional.
Having to leave!
3.8
room was clean
no curtains in the room, only a pull down blind so plenty of light from the outside spotlights coming in and daylight in the morning. I had to create a stack of suitcases and pillows to push the blind against the window to block the light so I could sleep. rock hard pillows that were impossible to sleep on. made a makeshift pillow with a chair cushion and towel. nobody manning reception at night to help sort the problems.
