The Inn is well placed for exploring the area. Whilst the Pub part of the Inn is very traditional and perhaps a little outdated the restaurant was more modern and excellent.
The room was spacious clean and comfortable though would benefit from a little updating.

Arrived at 22:30 to find the hotel locked up. No-one around, no-one answering the phone and no phone call to say they were leaving the key in the lock box as has happened on a previous stay. Had to find somewhere else to stay that night. Went back for the second night of my booking and was made to pay for the first night's stay that I hadn't had, I was told it was "Booking.com's rules". Not happy.

Delicious breakfast. Moved us to the bar area to accommodate having a four legged friend with us.

Everything went well. Lovely, helpful staff. Very good food and attractive building. Wonderful inglenook fireplace with a blazing fire. Loved our room and easy access to the garden for our dog was a bonus. A really good experience.
Dining was a bit noisy but that was entirely down to other guests.

Very old worldy loved the log fires staff were very friendly and helpful, in parts it was very dated and could do with an up grade rickety drawers In the room, beds really comfortable hairdryer sounded like a plane taking of it gave up the ghost on our last morning so had to towel dry my hair the best I could .
Dirty toilet in the bar looked like everything could do with a deep clean full of cobwebs .
Dated rickety drawers in the room windows full of green mold and condensation dripping down window sills we had a loft window which dropped water on our belongings and on us as we laid in bed .

Not much.
Not dog friendly apart from saying they are and taking your money and allocating a single bed room. Not allowed in breakfast room with dogs had to sit in cold smelly bar area with stench of Brasso and other cleaning products or option 2 by back door which was open on very cold November morning. They are clearly not geared up for providing a pleasant environment for for breakfast travellers accompanied by dogs even when it is included in the price of the room. I felt so aggrieved that on second morning I asked just for my bill to be made up. All the man taking payment wanted to do was argue the toss about not letting dogs into breakfast room when he could have been empathetic and shown good customer skills by trying to find me somewhere pleasant to have my breakfast, no too much to ask I would have thought!? Would NOT stay there ever again. Awful attitude.
