Friendly staff, great location, spotlessly clean.
No cooked breakfast available due to a problem in the kitchen. This itself is fine but don’t offer a part refund then not deliver on your offer. I doubt the very pleasant young lady on breakfast duties had authority to authorise any payment but there was a note left behind reception for three rooms. 2 of which were our friends and mine.

Beautiful views. Room was cozy and comfortable.
Isolated, but I knew that when booking.

fab staff, moved our room away from the wedding that was on which was very thoughtful
breakfast was a bit disappointing really for the price of nearly £15.00 a head. selection of fresh friut was a bowl of 3 apples/3 oranges. Kellogs cerials in little boxes is ok, 2 yogurts in pots but a good selection of juices, just smacked of put it all in a cupboard till tomorow after service, no real fresh flair
Usual diy toast ( not cooked or burnt dualit conveyer maching) but the croisants were fresh cooked. The hot food was in swing top bain-maries so food got steam soggy a bit. Had to go out of my way to ask for fried eggs rather than the supplied scrammbled. if it was £9.95 fair enough, and it wasnt in any way unpleasant, but for the extra price a bit more is really desired

Room was clean, and food was nice and reasonably priced. Drinks at the bar were also a reasonable price!
Me and my partner both woke up with sore backs due to the bed being too firm, this was our only downfall from the stay.

Location and design of hotel.
Lovely breakfast room, brightly lit with early sunshine and rural outlook.
Tremendous cooked breakfast and hot.
Comfortable bed.
Bedroom could do with some tlc such as removal of any carpet stains, painting and bathroom sealant.
That's all.

Breakfast
The room did not reflect any of the images or standard shown on Booking.com or hotel website. One window would not close, another was 'blown'/misted which prevented us seeing through the glass, the third window was okay.
The shower in the bathroom had barely any pressure and was basic.
The restaurant was closed in the evenings and we had to eat in the bar. We chose to have fish and chips and on receiving our order one portion of fish was FROZEN.
Despite being told that the general manager would be contacting us that has not happened.

Good location
Bedroom walls covered in water marks and stains. Windowsills very dirty and dusty with mould along the sills. WiFi code didn't work which wasn't a real problem.
People smoking in adjacent rooms so the landings smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke. We told the polite and friendly staff about this but nothing changed.
The room itself is very tired and run down and needs a major revamp. Infact the whole hotel needs a complete revamp.
The bathroom was clean and functional but very basic. The bath is really narrow so when taking a shower in the bath using the mixer taps you cannot move.
The electric shaver point was broken and didn't work. The sink had a crack in it. But the bathroom was clean.
When I spoke to the staff about the water marks and stains on the wall they said they knew about it and blamed condensation. This hotel was not busy, so if they know about and it does look awful why use this room?!?
I would not stay there again.
