The food was excellent. The room was fairly dark at night (thankfully no flashing lights, etc). Very convenient for the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking very convenient.
It was not a particularly relaxing stay. There was a very noisy air con unit or something similar outside our window which never ceased making a horrible noise, not even at night, punctuated only by changes in pitch. Very annoying. Shortly after we arrived and after my partner had stepped out of the shower, the fire alarm went off, apparently because someone was celebrating a birthday. Hmm.
We were disappointed not to have a bath. The photo gallery is misleading in this respect. 6 out of the 7 photos of interiors of various bathrooms clearly show a bath.
Only one teaspoon was offered with our tea and coffee making station - for two people - it just seemed really stingy. I had to dig around and find a spork that I carry with me. And only one sachet of hot chocolate - again, for 2 people.

Room, breakfast staff all very good, comfortable, and I got a good B&B rate so very good value for money for the quality of the hotel. I liked that there was a leisure club with pool, gym, sauna, steam room.
The leisure club is a little down at heel and could do with some renovation, the jacuzzi was out of operation. I spoke to another regular user and he said they do have plans for renovation. There is a policy of not allowing water on the hot rocks of the sauna for safety reasons and this is not how a proper Finish sauna should work. I spoke to the leisure club staff and they said they had had a problem with people putting essential oils on it and so had put up signs not to put anything on it at all. I think this is extreme - 'small scoops of water only' could be better - and provide a bucket and ladle for that would have improved the sauna experience.

The room was really comfortable although I would have liked a bath. Wish we'd booked earlier for dinner as we couldn't eat til 8 but it was worth it, as was breakfast.

Clean spacious comfortable room.
Great location to enjoy Ayrshire. Very good restaurant. Good value for money. Lovely breakfast. I hate when breakfast plates are jammed full. Very daunting when you wouldn’t normally have a cooked breakfast. The portions were very just right. Fantastic bathroom. A whole family could fit in the bath.
Lumpy pillows. They really spoilt my night sleep. As well as the room I was in. Described as family room on line. Which wasn’t the room I viewed, was troubled by a constant hum of what I think was a boiler.

Location and near to town centre
Comfortable central and yes would benefit from some upgrading didn’t think it was worth the money we paid. (If upgraded would still consider it)

Very friendly, stylish hotel. Staff were superb.
Because of the wedding celebrations, it was very noisy as our room was above the venue. Maybe suggest some room insulation

Loved location and staff were lovely. Room size was great.
We were warm and had to open window and there was a generator going outside our window. Bed slat was missing on sofa bed and we thought bed was quite hard, other than this we had a great stay.

We were hugely surprised by how lovely this hotel was. We like it enough to book it but it exceeded any expectations we had. The room was much bigger than expected - the bed was super comfy and the shower! It was a brilliant shower! The room also had a large television which was perfect for relaxing on the first night and hooking up to the laptop to get work done in the day as a second screen. The breakfast and dinner I ate in the hotel was outstanding, the quality of food was fantastic and the service was first class from all staff. Amanda on reception went above and beyond to help us during our stay, and I appreciated being able to coordinate a late check-out.
Nothing, everything was brilliant.

This was my second visit to the Fairfield House Hotel; this time I booked the Carnegie Suite as it was a occasion, it was very reasonably priced and we were not disappointed. Perfect location (Theatre a 10 min walk), right on the beach with wonderful views, beautiful food and friendly attentive staff. I will definitely be back!
