Nothing.

The location was amazing, secluded away from it all feeling. Larger than we thought, woods brilliant for our dog he absolutely loved it. We enjoyed seeing the deer. Fresh milk and warm homemade scones oh my word, delicious.
Nothing really, possibly a comfier settee but that would be being over picky.

Access to nature
Nothing. It was lovely

I loved everything about Doonbank Cottage Bothy. Felt so much like a comfortable home & had everything to hand.
We were greeted by Chris on arrival, who was very friendly & helpful. The freshly baked scones with butter & jam went down a treat with a big mug of tea. Perfect start to the holiday. Tried my first fresh duck egg the next morning, which was absolutely delicious.
Enjoyed a couple of lovely walks down by the river side, such a beautiful place. The beach, which is also a lovely place, is nearby.
I really hope to return to Doonbank Cottage Bothy sometime soon. It's a fantastic place.
Nothing to dislike.

Hosts comunicated very well before my arrival. They very kindly offered me an earlier check-in . The information pack left in the property was very helpful & they very kindly left some free-range eggs from their chicken's. The house was very clean, warm, and comfortable. The bedding was superb quality. The quiet location and very large garden leading to woodland and a river was perfect. I highly recommend this property.
Nothing ! I can't find anything to dislike .

Hard to find during day never mind at 1 am. Could do with a more visible lit sign

The property is in a beautiful location, with a rural feel, the woods and the river literally on your doorstep.
The only thing that I didn’t like was that I didn’t get to stay longer and had to leave but I’ll definitely be back 😊

We had a lovely relaxing stay here, the host was welcoming and friendly. The location was the perfect balance… secluded, quiet with a stunning view from the bedroom window and within a short walk to local amenities. Beautiful location and surroundings, the bothy was very clean with all the necessary essentials.
Absolutely nothing everything was perfect.

Exceeded expectations - wasn’t expecting such a tranquil location when we negotiated the nice housing estate to get there. Comfortable well equipped property. Relaxing short stay. Nice walk beside the river.

Location was lovely and cottage has huge potential.
Could have been cleaner. Dust in corners, spiders webs here and there and used dog poops bags left in garden from previous users.

Lovely quiet location, short walk along banks of River Doon to Robbie Burns birthplace etc.
All good

Amazing Location

We absolutely loved our 2 night stay and can't wait to return again in summer! The wee house was amazing with plenty of space while being cosy and warm. The views are amazing and we enjoyed lots of walks down to the river and exploring the forest. We found a gorgeous viewing spot with a bench just next to the water. The garden is great with plenty seating and space to play with our dog. Easy access to the river from doorstep. Chris was a brilliant host who provides a dog sitting service which came in handy when we went out for dinner. It was well equipped with fresh chicken and duck eggs which was a lovely touch. Shower was great, always hot water. There is also a picnic basket, magazines, books and a folder with local recommendations for walks and food places, as well as a folder with info if you bring your dog. 100% stay again!

Owner / responsible persons stays nearby. Responded immediately to text on contact nbr. Helpful. Friendly. Accommodating. Bothy/cottage has spacious top floor bedroom, compact lounge, kitchen and toilet/shower room downstairs with enclosed garden and parking. Clean, tidy, well-equipped with good instructions. Suggestions for local activities. You will need transport as located in residential Alloway/Doonfoot. Able to book for short stays. We would happily stay at Doonback again.

Wonderful welcome from our host with freshly baked scones. Fresh eggs in the basket and milk in the fridge. Really well designed, light and comfortable house. Fantastic location.
No complaint but a couple of cleaning cloths and a dishwashing brush would be good.
