Breakfast was poor value for money. It was very expensive for what you got.

The location
I chose this bnb due to the pub having a good rating for the food, being in a countryside location and by all accounts breakfast being INCLUDED.
The description is very misleading, it states “Lunch and Dinner are not included in the room rate”. This selection of wording would lead any reader to believe that breakfast IS included. Unfortunately we were completely denied breakfast at the property. When i asked why it wasnt included in the room rate, the manager or whoever it was didnt give me the owners number as requested and gave me a duff email address

Handy location for a nearby wedding reception. Helpful staff/manager.
I thought the breakfast was expensive.

great location for a quiet night away
the rooms really need a decent clean. mould in the shower & by the front door. masses of cobwebs. this was a issue for sure and certainly had a negative impact which is a shame as the rooms could be lovely.

I'm not sure what to say really. A puzzling and reflective experience. I was travelling alone, making a bit of a motorcycle tour. Arrived at the pub, parked my motorcycle at what looked like a sensible spot, and walked in. I was greeted by 'Hello mate.' I waited at the bar for a while (pub looks nice) and after picking up a book from the bookshelf to read from, after a while the man who had greeted me with 'hello mate' enquired of me. I'm checking in. 'First I've heard about it!' he said. He then made a few phone calls, and I really was at the point of saying it didn't matter - because I didn't feel welcome, and was quite happy to ride on to Leicester - but I'd already paid, so .. He took me outside, told me my bike was parked in the wrong place, took me to my room. He said the central heating might not be on, and that maybe I should 'play with the thermostats'. Well I did - and the radiator didn't come on. A phone call later to someone else and they suddenly fired up. Very comfortable but small room. Tiny TV, but really quite pleasant. I had no idea about the pub meal times or breakfast - I didn't particularly want to go in. Checked out in the morning, left my key. Bye.
Apart from all the moans above - be aware Arthingworth is a pretty remote place. There's no shop. But you can ride to a co-op about 3 miles away. So the pub is the only form of sustenance. As for breakfast - I don't know. It wasn't offered one, saw nobody. I had no times, or prices. Funny little trip.

This was the only thing we didn’t have, I thought breakfast was included, but the chef said he knew nothing about it, so that was the a disappointment. But everything else perfect.

We stayed here to be close to family for an event in the same village. The accommodation itself was very clean and comfortable, with it's own parking, so this part was good value.
The greet on arrival was not very friendly at all, it almost felt like we were an inconvenience. No Breakfast was included as I had previously thought, and apparently this is because 'people don't read it properly' according to man that showed us to room (presumably owner or manager). If you do want breakfast it's £15 per head extra which I would have been happy to pay but again it felt inconvenient and there is no menu to even view what might be included in that price.

A lovely quiet and pleasant stay. My room was clean and comfortable and my evening meal was freshly prepared and was of a generous size.
Only gripe...no plug in the hand basin.

We arrived to find the pub closed for the day with no facility for food/drink. We did not meet anyone there though the room was available. The bed felt like a product from a vintage sale room with unexpected sound effects added. We left asap the next morning minus breakfast as our confidence was now zero.
Arriving at a closed pub was unexpected as we were not warned of this situation. A bed which was well past it’s useful life was a surprise.

I arrived at the location with a phone on low charge and a broken charger. I was grateful to the staff for helping me out.
Normally its quite location in peaceful countryside would have very much appealed to me.
It turned out not to be ideal place for my circumstances, which had nothing to do with the hotel. I was reliant on cabs to get me there and take me to the party I was going to, but there is no UBER in the area. Also though my party was only four miles from the place, that was only as the crow flies, It was much longer by road and expensive by cab as a result.

Great value stay. More than happy that I chose to stay here. Ideally located just off the A14

Good English breakfast and plenty of it.
Nice bar and a good pint.
Sink in the bathroom was very small and not enough room for a wet shave. At 6foot I could not bend down due to the shelf in the way.

The room was clean and comfy. The staff were great. They even managed to dig out a spare fan and drop it to the room because it was so hot (during a heatwave).
