The historical local and design of the location. Really nice tea and tea kettle with temperature settings was a lovely touch
Limited options for vegetarian breakfast
8.0
The location is great and very convenient, in a quiet part of the city center. The room was clean and the bed comfy.
The atmosphere in the hotel was nice, also due to the beautiful traditional architecture.
Metro station was in walking distance.
Many restaurants and bars nearby.
- Simple Chinese style breakfast
- No English-speaking staff

Nice hotel, good room, great position, quite happy all in all.
Quite puzzling that an expensive hotel can't employ people who speak basic english and need to rely on automatic translators for easy things like checking-in, not speaking about Nietzsche or the political situation of Taiwan.

A beautiful hotel in the Wenshu Temple area, traditional-style architecture with courtyards. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Nothing.

We stayed for 1 night and enjoyed it immensely. The hotel premises are incredibly beautiful, feels like you are in a movie. Area around the hotel is also very pleasing - steps aways from Wenshu Yuan Monastery with a lot of dining options.
Service was also great: everything is clean and comfortable.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, though English may be a problem.
Breakfast options can be a bit more varied.

Great location in quiet side street but in a beautiful area. Very helpful English speaking staff. No breakfast in my room but I wanted anyway the Chengdu Dandan Noodles for breakfast which were 5 minutes away. The panda reserve park is a must see and the local cuisine is the best all over China. Great transportation available.

The hotel is stunning, built in a traditional style, and in an area which is similar to an ancient town. It's exceptionally clean, no dust at all considering everything is made from dark wood. The staff spoke conversational English and were very helpful, especially one young man at reception, he provided me with a map, and recommended some places for me to visit. The hotel doesn't offer any meals but there are many restaurants nearby, including a lovely vegetarian hotpot, a teashop and a bar right opposite, which plays music till 1am. I could hear it faintly from my room, but it wasn't an issue for me. Unfortunately the spa was not operational during my visit, which was a shame. The location is very good, it's a 10 minute walk to the subway, and there are many shops along the way, Chunxi Rd was 3 stops away.
The room was a little cold for me, however I left the AC on warm so it was nice and toasty within 30 minutes. The spa was not working, not sure why. Slight noise from the bar opposite, but nothing major.

The hotel is situated in a nice pedestrian area which has a temple close by plus lots of small shops and cafes. There is some building work going on right next door but it didn’t affect us at all. Completely quiet for sleeping. Just to be aware that it is a big development so you are not surprised on arrival. It doesn’t detract from this lovely hotel. Lots of character, excellent front desk staff who are very helpful, comfortable beds. Shower was powerful and lots of hot water. Rooms very clean. Great for the price too! Recommended.
Perhaps rooms are a little old fashioned but they’re in keeping with the style of the hotel. We loved our stay!

The location was perfect beside the Wenshu monastery. The Chinese breakfast was good, and so was dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Having more time for breakfast - breakfast ends at 9.30.

Classic style with comfort but...
... they are punished by a big construction during the daytime just beside the hotel which takes most likely until September 2021 (info from staff). I’d go there anyhow again 👍

Great central location and modern room in an old style building
