Beautiful, recently renovated house with a stunning garden in Rosebank. Very professionally run but also with a personal touch. The owners and staff were always friendly and welcoming. The generous breakfasts; fresh crisp linen and large spacious rooms were just some of the highlights. Highly recommend.

It is everything you want a boutique hotel to be: cosy, stylish, intimate, delicious. The facilities are great but like everywhere else in the world people make the experience truly unique. Yves and Valerie are incredible, excellent, truly outstanding hosts. They made us very welcome, helped with every issue we had and we happened to have a few during our stay with them.
With their knowledge of the area they give great guidance on where to go and what to do
But most importantly they truly care about their guests and they really go out of their way to be accommodating.
When we come back to Cape Town we know there is no need to look any further, we will be back to Carmichael house.

We can't say enough good things about our stay in the wonderful Carmichael House Boutique Hotel. It was our home away from home for about 8 days. First of all, Yves & Valerie (and their two adorable little dogs) were very gracious hosts. We enjoyed hearing their story and how they made the hotel and grounds around it so beautiful. They had really helpful tips on where to eat, where to buy take-out pizza for 15 students, and where to explore Cape Town. The hotel was boutique and beautiful. We loved the well groomed from yard, the trees, the birds, and the swinging chair. The swimming pool was small, but we would have made more use of it had the weather been warmer. Inside, the hotel is decorated with art work, beautiful painted ceramic tiles, old books, and (my favorite) illustrations from old Geneva (I think) along the stairway. We stayed I the "Ruby" room, which gave us a nice view of the front yard. It was cozy and despite the "load sharing", Yves & Valerie's generator keep one or two lights on, which was all we needed. Breakfast is served daily. The food was wonderful, and we particularly enjoyed the homemade jams and honey which fueled our journey up Table Mountain.
No complaints really at all. The live wires above the surrounding wall were a little unnerving but they are standard security protocol in the area. We felt comfortable waling to the little town of Rondebosch, but took Yves & Valerie's suggestion not to walk around during load sharing when it would be dark outside.

Valerie and Y'ves have created an exceptional b&b. They combine the best of South African and Swiss hospitality. The garden, the public rooms, and our guest room are beautiful and incredibly comfortable. Their staff are wonderful as well. We couldn't think of anything else we would want in a b&b.

Very pleasant stay in this excellently maintained historic building. Courteous hosts who make a lot of effort. The garden is also a small oasis and it is great to relax. Will be happy to come back.

Location in university neighbourhood in CT, Uber required to transfers but worked well. Beautifully kept garden to sit and have a drink (or breakfast) and compact pool area. Very tidy rooms, decorated with thought. We hade perfect room for family with bigger kids: double and twin rooms adjoint with little terrace area and joint bathroom. Breakfast was fresh and lovely with a few different portions to choose from. Hosts are the most welcoming and helpful, we got lots of useful tips concerning city and neighbourhood restaurants- you really feel looked after <3

The Hotel is very beautiful, with a small swimming pool to relax. The room is Big and wonderful, ver comfortable bed. The Breakfast is very good and tasty. The Location is very convenient if you plan to travel around. The hotel has good restaurants and supermarkets walking distance. The location is very quiet and safe. It is 15min from City center by car, from this location near the Highway it is possible to reach Table Mountain in 12min, Airport in 20min or to camp Bay, wherever you want to go, really good. For sure next time I will stay here again.
The Dry clean service is expensive .

beautiful old world decor and sparkling clean. comfortable beds, great served breakfast
value for money given the location was a bit lacking. could hear other guests stomping above (to be expected in an old house). full of mosquitos the first night due to lack of screens (and windows left open before our arrival, but this was fixed in subsequent nights. all in all, we would have been very pleased at half the price, but expected more for what we paid.
