It was in the centre of Sucre and a very interesting property, with good views over the city
Breakfast was not as good as we expected
We had trouble checking out and ended up paying US dollars cash as the property did not appear to have a card machine

Excelente ubicación, muy buena atención del personal. Desayuno bastante agradable. Fuimos con una mascota pequeña y no hubo problema alguno en que se quedara. Cuenta con buenos servicios adicionales tanto en la terraza como en el subsuelo.

We had a problem with the shower drain, our room was flooded, breakfast could be better

An excellent hotel.
Great team and owner,
Beautiful, elegant, the colonial fantasy.
With the best roof top bar in Sucre.
Highly recommended worth all five stars.

A stunning property with an amazing roof top bar

The room was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. We spent sunset on the lovely roof terrace that serves delicious food and cocktails with an amazing view of the city. The staff were very helpful and the location is great.
While the building is beautiful there are definitely some details missing. We stayed in the junior suite and there was no water, robes or information in the room. There was a light hanging out of the ceiling and the room smelled overwhelmingly of floor polish. There is a gym and some jacuzzis but both were closed and there was no information on when we could use them. Bathroom is very basic and the breakfast wasn’t great. Just not what you would expect from a 5 star.

beautiful rooms, amazing location (2minutes walk to main square), friendly and helpful staff
the Spa was run down, and the room had a weird smell. it’s not really a 5* hotel anymore and the du count reflects that.

Great hotel with supersized rooms and nice colonial vibe, perfect for Sucre. It felt like an oasis in the middle of the city
Room was great and very confortable. Facilities were very nice. Staff was courteous and helpful

Great location, close walking distance to the city centre. The breakfast was good with a lot of fruit. Possibility of paying in dollars by card.
Very uncomfortable beds! (I had a terrible backache after sleeping there). There was hair in the bathroom when we arrived, generally the hotel although being in antique style the equipment would need more cleaning and maintenance.
The room looked much nicer on the picture.

Excellent hotel, everything was more than perfect.

The location is right in the centre.
The hotel is in a group of old buildings whose colonial decor and atmosphere are preserved and nurtured. They even have a small museum of old objects (rather randomly arranged) in the basement.
The staff is generally nice and try to be accommodative.
The rioms are uncomfortable. All windows are to the corridors and passageways; even if some rooms have views towards the outside it's always across a corridor.
The cleaning leaves much to be desired.
On thw ground floor you get noise from people passibg by in the morning, and on the 3d floor you get noise from thw bar on the roof in the night.
The breakfast is rather poor. The coffee is always cold for some reason. They do have hot water though, so bring your own coffee.
Basic furniture is lacking. In one of our rooms there was only one uncomfortable chair and not a smallest table.
No tea /coffee machines in the rooms.
Finallt, the price is for a different category of hotel.

I can only recommend the Parador in Sucre, it is an excellent hotel at a fair rate. It is located just a few hundred meters from the Plaza Mayor and has parking availability. The breakfast was very good, the Wi-Fi was very good and so was the bathroom. I had a spacious room with a nice view over the town. Also excellent laundry service within 24 hours.
Nothing I didn't like.

The location was quite good and the staff organized us a taxi to the airport, but that's pretty much all that we liked :(
1) The receptionist who checked us in grabbed my suitcase, which obviously seemed like a lot less effort than my partner's backpack. However, he then proceeded to bang it on all of the steps and dragged it around like useless bag of garbage.
2)The room has very low privacy level:
a) the entrance door has large glass sections and the closing curtains cannot be closed tightly
b) bathroom has a normal glass window without any curtains or cover, which is easily observable from the spa relaxation area
3) There are no blinds or heavy curtains to properly cut out the light during the night. Glass on the front door doesn't help either.
4) Despite having a spa there is no list of services or other notes in the room to inform us about the services of this so-called 5* hotel
5) The breakfast was definitely nowhere near 5* standards
6) The water in the bathroom reached usable temperature on 1 out of 3 or 4 occasions.
So yeah, save your money and book something else.

The style and ambience were first class .a beautiful hotel and ideally situated.
There was nothing to dislike

The hotel itself is beautiful, with the patios, plants, and rooftop terrace. The owner was friendly, talkative, and showed us the hotel-museum that is in the basement. The clerk and waiter José was very helpful and deserves a special notice. All the different workers at the reception were helpful and friendly.
Sadly a lot of small things are bad to catastrophic. The bathroom had ants, the faucet was non-stop leaking onto the board and mold was starting to build in the corners. Water takes longer than 5 minutes to get warm (the reception just says: keep it running, it will get warm eventually), so you never have warm water to wash your hands and need to plan a shower. Generally, the room needed maintanence, one bed was shaking and the door lock was often stuck.
The description says it has a fitness studio, however theres only 4 cardio machines and nothing else, for me just a wrong description, that's no fitness studio.
The spa existed but was closed.
The breakfast was pretty bad, the same every day, small selection only. But lots of pastries, of which about one in five was tasty. But they had a woman make omelette and eggs for you! Well, in 3 out of 6 omelettes were eggshells, total no go. Once the water tasted like from the tap, i hope it wasn't. Where's quality control?
We brought valuable items to the reception to keep them safe there (a note in the room suggests you can do that). We came back and the items were in the room because they misunderstood what we wanted. This time and every time when room service came they just closed the door behind them without locking, although I always locked it behind me. You still couldn't open it, but it is less safe. Why not leave it the same way as found?
All these things really make you pissed when you pay 120$ per night for a 2-bed room.

The location was excellent! Nearby historic places and museums.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. On the positive side, staff were friendly and Wifi was quite good. The hotel is essentially a museum with beautiful hallways and details. The location is ideal and super close to the Plaza del 25 de Mayo.
The furnishings in the hotel are rather old and it shows, although I guess the sense they are going for is "historic." Hot water takes a long time to get going in the shower and I mostly had luke warm showers until there were other guests in rooms next to me when I think they turned on more hot water. I had arranged for transport to the hotel (with reminders), but there was no one to meet me and I had to take a taxi. Hotel never said anything about it. Gym is fine, but equipment is super old (think early 90s) and only cardio equipment. Terrace would have been lovely for the view, but was only open Wednesday to Saturday, so locked while I was there. You couldn't even walk up just to see the view, which was odd to me. Breakfast was super basic -- mostly breads and a little cereal with one mystery meat and one local cheese. More options would be easy to fix. The door to the room has glass windows which you cover with a curtain, but there are still ways to peek through so you never really feel like you have total privacy.

The hotel is beautiful, the property is more or less well kept and the staff is kind and helpful.
I stayed at the Parador Santa Maria for 3 nights. If I knew that this hotel had no respect and zero care for its guests, I would have found another place to stay. I booked this place based on the reviews and the attractive pictures. If you are coming to Sucre to enjoy and relax, this is not the place. 95% of the guests in this hotel are college students blasting music, slamming doors and making noise throughout the night. It is a college party place with a mob of drunk kids running around all over the place and smoking in the hallways and on balconies. When I asked the front desk to speak to the manager regarding this issue, I was told that they only have a manager three days a week and he won't be in until next week. So, I asked who is in charge while the manager is off and they said NO one. The person at the front desk even admitted that it was really out of hand, apologized but said there is nothing that could be done. I felt very unsafe in this place. Please stay away from this hotel if you want to enjoy your vacation.

The building has a beautiful Spanish Colonial style, as so are the rooms. The location is perfect, about a block away from the main Square. The breakfast buffet is pretty much standard, and helps to start your day.
I believe that the bathroom could have an update, especially the tub, but otherwise, the room fits perfectly with the whole building.

Nice room, good service, but a bit cold in the night, not hot water in the room either. But the view from the bar upstairs is fantastic.
