Not a good breakfast experience!!

The room was nice, clean and comfortable. Good restaurants are only walking distance from the Hotel. The receptionist was really helpful when we checked in. She was one of the few highlights of our stay.

The location of the hotel is good but our room was opposite the street. The weather was extremely hot and as the room was without A/C the windows had to stay open during the night. With the breeze came even the sound of the cars passing by so even if we were on holiday we had to wake up at around 5 in the morning. Breakfast was very very very disappointing. When I saw the pictures on booking.com I had high expectations for breakfast but they were shattered as soon as we entered the breakfast area on the first day. All the tables had a surname on them indicating to whom it was reserved. As no one came to meet us at the entrance of the restaurant we went looking for our table. After going around all the tables we had to seek a waiter to see where our table stood. She told us that we did not have one and we had to wait. So we stayed there looking at her as she went all around the restaurant in search of a table!!! Not a good start... Apparently this hotel caters breakfast for a nearby hotel as well. So all the residents of the other hotel have their table but us, that we booked with Barbarahof have to wait. Finally our table was ready. During breakfast we had to seek the waiter 5 other times.... to replenish the fruit for the juicer, for the bowls of the cereals, for the glasses for the juice etc. Every item we went to get for breakfast either was finished or missing. I am a very understanding person but these are thing I do not want to deal with especially when I am on holiday. The same happened on the second morning. Plus the lady of the omelettes and crepes was missing. My children were really looking forward for the nutella crepes as there was not a good choice on sweet items and they loved the crepes of the previous day. Apparently the lady was on leave and no one was there to replace her. That is what the receptionist told us when we asked the reason why we had many more items to choose from on the first day.

Comfortable and great for families with young children

The location of the hotel was good, just outside of the busy towns themselves, but close enough. There is a bus stop for the free bus a 100 metres away, as well as a supermarket. The food is excellent, especially the really wide array of breakfast foods. Also, if you have young children, this hotel works great: there are lots of other children, so you won't feel uncomfortable if yours yell or have a tantrum occasionally. Moreover, there are lots of toys in the garden for them to play with. My children also loved the three rabbits they keep (though those aren't even very tame). Also: the Joke Card is awesome! Makes your stay infinitely cheaper and more relaxed.

Staff is friendly enough, but (maybe given the size of the place, or the fact that our active command of German is not great) not very personal. They don't ask any questions, or if they do ask how your day was, they don't really seem interested in your answer. Also, the playroom off of the dining area is fun and well-equipped, but on the small side for the amount of children that used it during our stay. This sometimes led to some squabbles amoungst the children.

wonderful stay, and hospitality was very good! I would definitely recommend it.

It’s very well taken care off! maintenance is done with love and care. Also renovated part looked great. Breakfast was very good and great assortment, love that there was a fresh juice press you can assist yourself. Dinner was also very nice, portion of the main dish, could have been a bit smaller. But quality was good and made with love.

It’s a pity the hotel is straight infront of the main road. but that we slept on the back of the hotel, which was perfect.

Everything was excellent, Roland and his staff go out of there way to give you a top class stay and nothing is to much trouble the breakfast was everything you could possibly want and the evening dinner was superb, They provide transport to the slopes in the morning by means of land train which was great fun , A great hotel with brilliant staff , a real credit to Roland and his team

Amazing Breakfast (lot's of variety, vegetables, fruits, fresh on demand eggs, fresh squeezed juices), Great Dinner (4 course meal: Salads/starters, soup, main course, desert), Lovely Staff. Amazing Sauna facilities. Clean rooms.

The staff and the hospitality was great. The owner of the hotel was always there for a friendly chat or to help you. Good food and very nice wellness area. They celebrated my birthday. Really liked it. Also Heiligenabend was great. Good atmosphere/food.

The location is between Saalbach and Hinterglemm. You have to use the skibus or ski shuttle. It is quite easy, but takes some time. Normally you you can ski to the hotel, but due to poor snow condtions it was not possible.

Fantastic hotel

We had a great three night stay at this hotel on our way home from Italy. The staff were amazing and so welcoming and we were incredibly grateful that they were happy to speak to us in English (and that they spoke it so well!) Food was amazing, 4 courses most evenings and we especially enjoyed the BBQ night on Tuesday. Hotel location was great with lots of lovely hikes all around and we made good use of the Joker cards. All in all, a great hotel and we’d like to come back again some day.

Lots of attention to the traveler needs - I.e. bicycle washing station, outdoor areas. Really good breakfast - kitchen staff was super nice!

Bicycle storage area was too small. In case of any small repair required - there was not enough place.

Very nice experience

The staff was very welcoming. Our reservation included dinner, breakfast and access to spa and other services (including a "joker card" to benefit from the local gondolas and many other attraction) at a really competitive price. The dinner had a limited choice but was good and the breakfast was really amazing.

The language was a little problem that could be easily overcome: they sent us a message in German and the list of possible services or menu was only in german. The window to have dinner was quite short so if you haven't nordic time schedule you better check it out first.

Great time spend in Barbarahof during weekend in Saalbach for mountain biking.

Great hospitality of the owners. Great leisure space at the "mountain" side of the building. Great restaurant. All the facilities needed when MTB biking in Saalbach are on site like bike cleaning/service station and garage. This is a place worth visiting once again for sure.

Relaxing, super friendly owners and staff who care, great food, warm, comfortable, clean - loved it!

The food in Hotel Barbarahof was exceptional, a huge variety for breakfast with a different special added every morning like pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict etc. Dinner was even better, they really do have someone running their kitchen who knows what they are doing and cares about what they are serving. All in all there's a fab choice and quality of food in this hotel, well above its 3+ stars. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and have been modernised, the staff were all very friendly and professional and the owners were around every evening, making a point of chatting to guests at every table. You can tell they like what they do and it comes across as a happy place to work. They make a real effort to lay on extra activities for guests as well with a weekly programme of things to do and the little private train to the lifts in the morning was much appreciated.

Hotel Barbarahof was honesty all great, there was nothing that we disliked or were unhappy with and we would love to return.

Amazingly beautiful family hotel with beautiful interiors and wonderful breakfast. Very friendly staff and unique home atmosphere. Perfect experience!
