Très bel accueil de l’hôte, gîte très propre et chaleureux. Nous avons adoré notre séjour à Carcassonne.

Really nice place to stay. Room was lovely, was quite big it was clean, well maintainedand the bed was huge! Really nice choice for breakfast too. Catherine was very friendly and easy to get in touch with, answering a couple of queries before we arrived and was on hand during our stay also.
Location wise you couldn't ask for better being about a five minute walk from the Cite and right next to the footbridge that crosses the river to the newer part of the town.
Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Carcassonne.
Also if your wanting to visit in April make sure you visit nearer the end of the week as we found that quite a few restaurants/bars opened Thursday to Sunday and were closed the other days.
Nothing we had a great time

Such a beautiful b&b in a perfect street in a wonderful town. Only 7 minutes walk to the medieval city and with a load of character. Wonderful breakfast provided each day .
Nothing. We loved it all

Breakfast - excellent
Owner very helpful & with good English
No bad points to report.

The bedroom was spacious and pristine. I loved the breakfast each morning. Staff were very helpful with arranging taxis. And finally location, location, location....what more can I say. I can't wait to return.
Nothing.

The location was perfect to explore both the old ‘cite’ and the new town. Everything is walking distance. Some really good restaurants nearby which had been recommended by the helpful staff. The house has been beautifully done up and our room was massive! Very comfortable and with all we needed. Breakfast was lovely and with good choice of good produce. The courtyard is a lovely spot as well.
We liked it all :)

Excellent location near the old city.
Mezzanine floor was perfect for our teenagers to use.
Quiet apartment looking over courtyard.
Good facilities- everything we needed for a few days.
Comfortable and spacious.
Shower water didn't run away very well.

Location and room comfort were terrific.
Breakfast could have been included, or at least the property could have been more clear that it wasn’t, especially given the name. Price charged at the end was reasonable though.

Beautifully refurbished guest house. It has real character and a quality finish. Breakfast was lovely.
Not much could be improved really, it’s a place we would seek out again if we visit Carcassonne.

Staff is wonderful and helpful in answering questions. Parking is in front of the hotel so very convenient. We normally stay within the walls of Carcassonne but this location is only a 10 minute walk to reach the walls.
The shower is within the bedroom, while the toilet room is separate. It was a bit strange but not really a problem for us. However, it might be for someone who wants complete privacy. The room is like staying in a very roomy loft. The decor is bright, fresh and with lovely wicker accents. Very French! We felt like we were living in a magazine spread.

Situated close to the old city (castle) which was very convenient! It is on the same street as the best restaurants in the town which was a pleasant surprise, but just a 5 minute walk to the new city across the bridge.
The property is beautifully decorated and feels like home! The rooms are very spacious, we stayed in the Prince Noir room (recommended) and it had a beautiful view of the castle and the courtyard! If the weather is nice, then breakfast in the courtyard is amazing
Thomas was a great help during our stay, very friendly and helpful!
The breakfast is okay. However, if you are looking for the “french” breakfast of a croissant and coffee, check out the Boulangerie–Pâtisserie Papineauin town for the best chocolatine!
Other than this, it was PERFECT

The room was lovely and spacious; beautifully decorated and full of charm. Breakfast was very nice with extremely tasty bread and homemade jams. The location is very convenient, just a 10-minute walk from the medieval city centre.
The wi-fi was patchy at best.

Facilities. The apartment was very nice and comfy.
Breakfast was limited.
A little bit expensive.

La Maison Vielle in Carcassonne is possibly the nicest hotel we've ever stayed at, no exaggeration!
Located right in the centre of town, between the old and new sections of Carcassonne, this guesthouse offers a perfect starting point to discover this gem in the south of France by foot. The house is run by two sisters who quite obviously put lots of effort and love into it, making us feel at home from the very first time we entered.
Our room was very large, immaculately clean and offered the flair of an old country retreat, with delicately chosen bits and pieces of decoration. And the huge and very comfy bed was the icing on the cake!
Breakfast is served in a cute and romantic patio, which could just as well be the site of a high class restaurant. We could hardly imagine a better start to the day than by enjoying our morning coffee in the shadow of the old olive tree and with some nice French pastry offered by the superbly forthcoming landlady.
We are definitely hoping to come back and have already recommended La Maison Vielle in Carcassonne to many friends! Thank you for this wonderful stay!
Nothing, really!
The only thing to keep in mind is that there is no parking nearby. You can stop to unload your luggage, but be prepared for then having to park the car some 5 walking minutes away.

Location and Style.
Would of been nice to know. Summer months you cannot park outside the Hotel. You have to park at the 2 free car parks 2 mins away. Not a problem, but when you arrive you don’t know this and cause a bit of hassle.

Beautiful space! Excellent service and high quality bed, linens, decor. The location is perfect! Just outside the walled city with great restaurants all around.
The wifi sometimes did not work.

It’s too hard to single out just one thing about this property. I loved EVERYTHING about it! The location was outstanding! The staff was fantastic and the hotel was charming!
I loved ALL of it!

Great breakfast. Superb rooms with comfortable bed. Huge bath. Walking distance to Old City with restaurants for evening meals.
Lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms
4.6
Location was fantastic, right at the start of the old medieval city but also just a short walk into The Bastide and new town. The whole property was super stylish and spotlessly clean. Really friendly staff
There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like.
4.6
Comfortable self-service apartment. Easy access to the medieval city. Air conditioner was a life saver in the heat of summer.
While there was no noise from the street, the walls are poorly insulated from noise. Voices from adjoining staircase and apartments carry through. Same for courtyard where guests have breakfast.
4.6
Spacious and beautifully decorated rooms with large separate shower room (barbicane) or in room shower (Dame Carcas). The Dame Carcas was exceptionally large with high ceilings. We went in August when temperatures were around 39 degrees and both rooms were cool and comfortable ( air conditioning). Lounge and outside dining area were also very cool, atmospheric and evocative of the beauty of the area. Face masks were worn indoors and breakfast served outside. It was easy to maintain social distancing. The location was exceptional, at the foot of the old bridge and right at the start of the restaurants, cafes and shops on the Rue Trivalle, less than 10 minute walk to both the Old City (great view from just outside the door) and New City.
The hosts, Catherine and Beatrice, were both very friendly and helpful, and provided helpful suggestions for activities and also recommendations for shopping and dining.
This place is a gem!
A very, very minor point and almost feel bad writing it but breakfast could have been a bit more varied but this is beyond a minor quibble.
