Amazing hotel in a fantastic location. Personnel is very friendly and helpful
The only misleading thing is - on pictures family room is advertised as a room with the loft, that kind of separates the main bed from kids beds. But in reality, there are only 1-2 rooms like that. The rest of the family rooms are just a bigger version of a regular room.

Great location, service, breakfast. Staff helpful and friendly
Bath slippery- needs a handrail. Awful hairdryer!

Shower over bath was very poor. needs upgrading.
Shower very poor

From arrival the guest experience was exceptional. We were celebrating our anniversary and intend ti return every year. The room was the ultimate upgrade to a luxurious suite and the meal at the barbican restaurant was very special we enjoyed the truffle menu.
Nothing to complain about at all

We loved the location and the history of the hotel. Our room was gorgeous and had a door that opened into the garden.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Amazing hotel within the walls of the ancient city of Carcassonne. Spacious comfortable room with lovely bathroom. Wonderful staff.
Luxury comes with a price tag. But this is a 5 star hotel

Nothing!

Location is excellent and parking is available very close by.
Staff were very friendly.
The restaurant was very good.
Personally I think the hotel is more a 4 star rather than 5. Some aspects such as the swimming pool needs a makeover and our bathrooms are looking a bit tired.
While staff were friendly they lack any urgency for drink service and getting pool towels etc. It all seem a bit to hard.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Our room was a good size with an extremely comfortable bed, together with a spacious bathroom. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable.
The lighting in the room was very dark and we needed the lights on at all times. The shower was above the bath and we feel that in this day and age it would have been preferable to have been a free-standing shower. We ate in La Barbacane restaurant on one night during our stay and although the food was extremely good the selection was a little disappointing with several fish dishes but limited alternative, such as a vegetarian course. The staff and the food's presentation were first-class.

The location was superb - the hotel is inside Carcassonne. The room was very nice - large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fine - plenty of options from the self-serve buffet plus you can order other options from the staff: a selection of yoghurts and local cheeses, breakfast cereals and fresh fruit in addition to the standard hot food: sausages, bacon, eggs. A really good selection of pastries.
A really nice lounge area in the hotel with live music in the evenings - a great place to spend some time with your favourite people.
Due to the time of year, the outdoor pool was closed.

Beautiful location with wonderful views.
Outstanding signature menu at the hotel restaurant Là Barbacane with eight courses on Michelin level dishes. Lovely friendly service.
Fresh milk in the drinks fridge would have been nice!
Unfortunately due to the unseasonal weather we didn’t get an opportunity to enjoy the lovely seated garden or the pool space.

it’s location in the city walls can’t be beaten. The quality of food and the detail of how it served in the restaurant is exceptional.

It’s staying inside a Medieval city! How cool is that? The hotel had old school charm, the staff were all friendly and attentive. The restaurant is Michelin starred. Our room had a large balcony overlooking the castle rampart. So awesome.
TV didn’t work right, was only able to get 2 channels. Not a big deal since we didn’t stay in the room much to watch TV, but at $300 per night in the off season, I would like the TV to work!

This place is BEAUTIFUL. Book the terrace suite, if you can. You won’t regret it, because being able to see a literal castle sunset from your hotel room is a pretty unforgettable experience. Plus, I went in the off-season, so the room rate was actually less than the incidentals (Michelin-star meal, scallops were to die for, and a ride to the hotel from Toulouse). Extremely good value. The staff were responsive and kind. They left a rose on my pillow for Valentine’s Day, too! This is a great location to see the old city, as it is right inside it.
Absolutely nothing. Perhaps a hot tub would be nice, but I’m sure they’re not allowed in a UNESCO world heritage site.

it’s beautiful and the location couldn’t be better!
2 things that don’t change my 5 rating:
- our rooms were in an annex right across the street fro a noisy restaurant that began playing LOUD music each morning before 7am.
- there is ONE taxi service in Carcassonne and if there is a private car company, I couldn’t find it. We arranged for pick up at the train station, through the hotel. This really means nothing. It was very apologetically explained to us at check in.
IMHO, the Hotel needs to tell clients to just get in the taxi queue and wait with everyone else. Going back to the station FROM the hotel was great, but they really can’t guarantee pick up at the station and I would have preferred they just tell me that and we could’ve avoided a lot of frustration.

Restaurant is amazing. Highly recommend the dinner, it was delightful. Breakfast is perfect, with plenty of selections. Location couldn’t be better.
The pictures of the family room are misleading. We thought the children would have a separate loft area, the room did not have the loft area, it was one large room with a twin couch bed and an additional cot set up. This is usually considered a quadruple room, not a family room, so the space was very small and difficult to maneuver in with older children. It would be ok for families with small children.
