The staff was excellent was very helpful. The hotel reminded of beauty and the beast it was like being in a fairly tale was lovely
There was nothing that I didn't like but would have loved for spa facilities and the swimming pool is not what is shown on the advertisement

Authentic design , location is perfect.
Best of all was the kind staff who made us feel at home. Will be back again!
Leaving a cosy big bed for work.

This was my first time at the Crazy Bear. After hearing good feedback, I decided to try. Staff was friendly
The room was very dark and extremely cold. The room was small and by going by the pictures on booking.com do not live up to my expectation. I was not given the room I had initially requested.

On first glance the hotel including the bar area, patio and room all looked fantastic
On arrival our room wasn’t ready (we were early so no issue here) so we went to the bar to order a drink whilst we waited. Everything was table service so we looked over a menu. When we went to order we were told cocktails weren’t on offer for some reason. So we ordered an alternative, five minutes later a pornstar martini and a Long Island iced tea were delivered to the two gentlemen in the corner. Clearly there is cocktails. The next couple to enter were told no cocktails same as we were. The room (suite 3) was lovely but terribly dark, no doorway between the bathroom area and the bedroom so the automatic lights woke us both up when someone got up to use the bathroom during the night. The sinks were stained and not nice to look at and there was a cracked window. We were under the impression we were booked into the hotel Thai restaurant however this was located down the street, a small inconvenience but one nonetheless. Finally after dinner we went back to the bar and ordered a liqueur to take up to the room. The bartender had a little look then asked what it was because they’ve never heard of it and didn’t know where to find it on the bar (it’s on their menu) all this whilst charging 13.5% service charge didn’t make for a good nights stay. Spending £219 on a suite I left really disappointed

so posh and very beautiful place
everything was is perfect

The bath was n the room
Lights were terrible to operate
Mirror above sink far too high
Shower was not great
No privacy for the toilet - heavy draped curtain across the bathroom - but half of mine was hanging off
No basic extras considering the cost - like tea facilities in the room - tissues - decent light / mirror to actually see to put any make up on -
No drawers to put away clothes
Service was very lacking in the bar - and considering the cost of the drinks - basic nibbles like crisp / nuts would of been appreciated
Felt like the place was run by work experience staff - and not trained hotel management/ food & beverage !

Exceptionally clean and tidy with good facilities. Finished to a very high standard
Staff were ok but failed to make you feel valued. Struggled to smile and didn’t offer that extra mile

Nothing? Maybe fancy decoration but that's about it.
Breakfast poor, room steamy as hell, no doors and curtains getting wet, cant pull them down, all moisture ends up in the room, extractor wasnt turning on, sensor lights switch off way too often and then cant turn them back on. Girl in glasses was super rude when I simply asked her about returning deposit as they said after one pm then it turned out i need to wait 24h+. Low water pressure in the shower, sharp tile edges I literally cut my elbow on. Nothing in the room, not even a cattle to make yourself a tea. For 180quid, it's a theft in bright daylight.

Food was lovely, the lay out of the hotel was as expected. Great parking right outside, quiet village, continental breakfast lovely cooked options available.
This was to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, nothing given to celebrate you had to purchase everything! When we arrived our required room we reserved with the hotel double booked it, we were given a bungalow which had no windows, there was dried pee on the bathroom floor, the couch in our room was broken, the stomping above our room shakes the lanterns, the only reason I booked this hotel and not the other was because they had a pool but warning it’s not heated so we couldn’t use, my husband doesn’t like massage so nothing really for us to do? Also told we couldn’t order drinks from the bar you had to be seated, so we were seated in the tented area out the back which was chilly! The waitress took our order then disappeared for 20 mins before she realised we had been seated in the restaurant so our drinks and starters arrived at the same time. For the price we paid we didn’t feel looked after at all and the facilities were not explained just chaos and panic in reception. Disappointed really as this was supposed to be a very special occasion and a much anticipated night away from our fostering and parent roles. I tried to contact the hotel by email to discuss but they didn’t reply!

The manager chris is the only good thing about this crazy bear.
The rooms are run down and the staff are rude and unhelpful,

Lovely property, nice atmosphere and cosy
Housekeeping need to pay more attention to detail when cleaning as we had empty bottles hidden around the back of the bath.
Receptionist staff could be more approachable and attentive

The hotel is nice and the rooms are great.
Staff are freindly and the food was good.
The room was a little dirty. Hair on the bed.
Ear plug between the mattress and the leather surround. Almost could have believed the bed was not changed

Walls are hollow. Can hear every door slamming and all footsteps from the corridor. Also air conditioning fan draining all night long making intermittent louder motor noises. Underwhelming experience

The Cocktails in the Bar and the location
That there was no sink to wash your hands were the toilet was and because the lights are sensored it made it difficult at night time to get from the toilet to the sink to wash hands. Floor was very slippery when showering. Rain shower did not work.

lovely decor
staff were so judging laughing at us on arrival as we were in joggers due to a long few hour drive and once we put on fancier clothing they started treating us with some actual respect.

Breakfast was fine, fresh food (continental breakfast included) cooked breakfast was extra £18.00!!!! lol
I was really disappointed with this stay! After hearing good and bad reviews on this hotel, we wanted to try it ourselves but it wasn't good! The actual rooms are not at reception but over a busy road, and we had to take our luggage up to the top floor only to find the room was so small there was nowhere to put anything! No door on the bathroom, just a curtain, no space to put out any toiletries etc and after a shower the whole floor was wet! Also, the reviews are correct - a £150.00 deposit was taken and HELD for 5 days before returned - why??? Wouldn't stay here again unfortunately.
