We booked dinner for 7.30 == it took 50 minutes for our starter to arrive -- and 1 hour 20 minutes before our mains arrived -- we both ordered sirloin steak which proved to be inedible -- could not cut the sterak with a knife --
The bathroom was shabby and had not been decorated for years - mould in the shower - we did take pictures to back up our claims

Great location. Pub lovely.
Room basic. Could do with another chair or some kind of table to put things on.
8.0
The cottages where the rooms were located were in a quiet location just off the main road and within a minute or so walk from the main pub. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room to move around and place cases etc. There was a television and tea/coffee making facilities and the room was cleaned every day. Food was available at the nearby pub, which was very nice and smartly presented. Breakfast was available from there in the mornings.
Space for clothes storage was minimal and a bit disappointing. There were only three hangers on a very small clothes bar in the room (a family room) which meant that we were not able to unpack any clothes and had to live out of the suitcase.
The evening menu at the Bear Inn was designed for main restaurant type meals. Whilst these were very nice, we could have done with a slightly larger menu to incorporate smaller, more snack type, meals - eg sandwiches, jacket potato with fillings etc. It works out costly if you were to eat there every evening.

The location was excellent and staff very efficient and friendly
The room was a bit cold and bathroom a bit tired but shower excellent.
9.0
Very good selection of food, all fresh and the options available for a cooked breakfast were excellent
My only criticism was, when we booked we specifically asked for a room not on 2nd floor as there is no lift and the stairs are more like a ladder. We were given room 9 on second floor. When we pointed this out the hotel said that if the request came via booking .com they dont bother looking at them. They appologised but were unable to change us as they were full. We were given complimentary breakfasts as compensation. Luckily we managed the stairs but someone less mobile would struggle.

Excellent location for shopping village in Street. Ample parking and friendly, helpful staff. Food from bar/restaurant was excellent
Everything was good. Only problem was the weather which was no fault of the hotel
10.0
the beds was super comfy, I woke up with no aches or pains!
very slippery floor and very slippery bath, I know there was a bath mat, but I do think bath mats carry germs so didn’t want to use it, but the floor was also very slippery when wet, needs the baths that have the built in grips and better flooring

A Beautiful location with amazing rooms, lovely staff, great food and bar with garden area.

the room was excellent great size.
A good choice on the menu.
again a good choice but i did complain about the meal i had on our first evening.
On the Tuesday night we had to eat away from the hotel following a telephone call to say that the hotel had staffing issues.
The time it took between courses seemed excessive
On the Wednesday when we turned up for dinner we were told the dining room was fully booked even though we had a timed booking for each night of our stay and we ended up eating in the bar.

The staff were so lovely and helpful
The food was very average, couldn’t eat the lasagne and for breakfast I had two poached eggs on toast with bacon, you couldn’t even see the bacon under the egg as it was so small, definitely not worth the money
