There was a lot of mildew in the bath room and in the windows. Photos do not match the reality. Lots of road noise and unpleasant smells.

location easy to access
the property is tired infrastructure needed to be updated, mildew in shower ceiling, water extremely hot need to be regulated would burn a child, no hot water stickers sink didn’t drain well, windows unsecured on 1st floor so child could fall out easily, heating on all the time, fire doors wedged open, needs a good decoration outside and in.

The location was great, it was an easy walk down to the quay and to access local facilities. The bar and waiting staff were really helpful and friendly and the food was lovely.
We stayed for 3 nights and unfortunately didn’t have any heating in our room and only warm water so couldn’t use the shower. The manager gave us a mini oil heater but it only had one leg so couldn’t leave it unattended or would have burnt the carpet! Due to this the room remained quite cold throughout our stay. We were offered an evening meal and breakfast though on one day as an apology which was lovely. Sadly once the manager realised there were issues he did his best to stay out of our way rather than chat to us which was a bit strange. However, the bar and waiting staff were great. There were other little bits missing such as no towel rail or hook in the bathroom so nowhere to put towels to dry, no toilet brush & the kettle was full of limescale. These issues didn’t effect the stay as such but are really basic things that should be done/provided as standard.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was large and clean and beds comfortable. Didn't hear any noise from the pub below.
The housekeeper was wonderful, lending me a walking stick after an unfortunate injury and offering any help we needed.
Room was hot despite open windows and standing fan. Breakfast wasn't worth the money but this is a Marstons issue rather than the Shah of Persia's.

Staff were helpful and allowed us early check in. Breakfast was pretty good though had to ask for juice and marmalade. Bed was comfy and water was hot.
Window didn't close but as there was a secondary sliding pane it was quiet. I thought £130 per night (even for our daughter's single room) was high particularly as breakfast was extra. Building is old and steep stairs but it was clean and equipped as expected. I would have preferred a walk in shower instead if one over a bath, but I was able to get in to it without accident.

spacious room for 4 of us
A portable shower head and some hanging in bathroom is more convenient.

very good location if you are working at Poole hospital it’s only an 8min walk / 3min drive. Even though it’s a pub I couldn’t hear the noise from my room. room was clean and beds were comfortable. decor was pleasant. For 160 pounds for 2 nights I would have thought breakfast might have been included ! but it wasn’t that was the only thing bad I could have mentioned. overall my stay was great!!
breakfast not being included

Problem with shower no cold water feed. But understand there are some issues and thus is being addressed the following week.

Good central location, adequate parking. Biscuits a with tea facilities a nice touch.
Room 9 above kitchen very noisy until fan turned off at 9:15, then turned on again early.

Staff always friendly and helpful, food very acceptable, price of drinks good value.
Had room 7 this time, I have noticed plumbing seems to be an issue in the rooms, taps dripping and I couldn’t get the shower to work, or that could just be me!
As a solo traveler the food prices are a tad high. There is a two for offer on all main meals which is great for couples. Solo diners are offered a free sweet but I’m not a great fan of sweets. Perhaps a short menu for solo diners might be helpful.
