The staff was amazing - Karine and Damien (I hope I am writing right).
The cleaner was also very nice.
We had local food and was amazing - breakfast and dinner.
You can feel very welcomed by people in this island.
There is an access to the water in front of the hotel and a very nice spot for snorkeling.
You can go to a small motu by canoe, but it’s not easy work - the coral garden there is amazing, but there was some current, my legs paid the price (wounds).
We also made a tour booked by the staff, it was one of the best tour of my life. You can feel how people love their island and respect the tourists and the fauna and flora.
These are not bad things, but things for you to know:
The Internet was not very good. Very slow to download and upload and therefore to open websites and etc.
But, it’s a small island, I know I cannot expect the best internet.
Was good to spend less time on the mobile and more time reading.
Be aware this is not a luxurious place, is kind of a mid away between a hotel and an airbnb, we loved the familiarity and etc. This was our favorite stay in the 5 islands we tried due to the proximity with the local people.
You may find small animals in the room, we had a visitor a lizard. It was not at all dangerous and afraid of us, but for you to know in case you have any fobia.
Other thing, if you have food restrictions speak well with the staff first before your visit to see if they can accommodate since the meals are good but you don’t have many options.

The upgraded room second from the waterfront had a fan & air con which was good. Damien the owner was very hospitable & likable. Breakfast & a very good 3 course dinner was available
The room was painted dark brown or black rather odd.

Excellent stay in a great location on the Tahaa Island. Karine and Damien are very friendly and helpful. In a word super hosts. As the island is remote, there is little choice of restaurants and it is hard to go somewhere for dinner unless one has a car. Hence we elected for a full board at La Perle Tahaa. The breakfast and dinner were very good prepared by a Tahitian team.
all the "limited attractions" are close by and can be reached by bikes freely available on the facilities.
Karine and Damien are very well connected to get a car, or a shuttle service booked.
We had a great time and will make la Perle Tahaa definitely our destination next time we go there.

We liked the bedroom
The dogs and the geckos
On arrival at the quay we were hustled into a van and charged a lot of money to be driven about 2km. The property was missing kitchen equipment. It was not kitted out for cooking a meal. The hob had to be dismantled and cleaned before it would work The internet was very intermittent and is essential for travelling in FP

The Large Bungalow - de l'Archipel, we rented the two units available, were both nicely appointed but needed maintenance.
The air conditioning worked well. We enjoyed having a refrigerator. We enjoyed the front porch for seating outside. The sea life near the dock is great....we saw Manta Rays, Octopus, tropical fish. Kayaks and bicycles are available without charge.
The Large Bungalow - de l'Archipel, we rented two units. The property is tired and small things throughout the bungalow were broken, worn, etc. Windows leaked rain and the seals were gone so that the windows were foggy. Bathroom floor blistered. Cabinet doors hanging from hinges. Front door locks either broken or handles missing. Bathroom door had no handle or latch. Inadequate or no towel racks. Inadequate lighting particularly around the bed. The rooms are dark. The traffic noise is quite loud early in the morning. Sun blinds not working. Broken wind chimes hanging everywhere. The restaurant is too far uphill from the rooms and is way too expensive. There is no wifi available in the rooms, only in the restaurant. Smoking was allowed in the restaurant areas. Staff was really only interested in selling us tours, which we declined. There was no offer of towel changes or room cleaning during the week. Transportation to and from the property is complicated and expensive. The similar property next door went out of business during Covid. Most of the cabins here are not air conditioned.

Location was perfect for snorkeling and using kayaks to get to Coral Garden on motu nearby ( 20-30 minute paddle depending on wind)
We saw manta rays twice in four days directly in front of the resort and paddled kayaks to the Coral Garden on 2 days. We are snorkeling geeks so we have high standards. The sunsets were so beautiful to watch with Bora Bora as a backdrop.
Be aware that the best view is across the road from the bungalows at their private “beach@ and pier. There are 5 chaise lounges and 2 chairs and a small table there for all the bungalows. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, but don’t expect ice cream to stay frozen.
There were no reading lamps in our bedroom, only a mood lamp with dim light and an overhead fan light. Also, only one side of the bed had a table. The entire interior is painted dark brown so light is important. We only had 1/2 Roll of toilet paper at check in and no matches to light stove. This was quickly remedied by Damien, the very kind owner at dinner time. Make sure you let the owner know if you have no hot water. They are apt to run out of gas, but can recharge as needed. Having to walk up the hill to the restaurant to use wifi ( none in room) was a bit inconvenient, but we knew this in advance.

The owner welcomed us warmly with coffee and fresh sweets
the locations is so good, in front of the beach where you can snorkel with a lot of fish and if you are lucky even with Manta Rays!
the room is great, clean, equipped kitchen
we would love to come back!!
nothing.

the owners couldn't be nicer, and same for the folks working in their restaurant. if you're lucky, one of the waitresses might sing after you eat, a real treat. be sure to have the owner's special cocktail - it's really special.

We stayed at this property 3 years ago and were displeased with the hospitality of the owners. We were informed that the property had been sold so we decided to try it again. The new owners were extremely welcoming and kind! We would return!!!!
Everything was fine

it’s well maintained and the family that manages (specially Damien) is lovely and efficient.
Food is excellent.
Bike and Kayak service is definitely a plus.
The shower in the bedroom (doesn’t look like a water pressure problem. Probably just need to change the shower).
Food was excellent and tasty but very expensive.
Same prices as the Taha’a resort.
Beer price is even more expensive then the resort.

Hosts were very pleasant and tried very hard to make our stay enjoyable. The meals were fantastic-excellent. Location was good and the snorkeling and swimming with manta rays superb.
Rooms were a little dark which made reading difficult. No tea or coffee supplied in room. An ice tray in the freezer would be appreciated and some towel racks in the bathroom. These would be enhancements not criticism’s.

The staff and owners of La Perle Tahaa were incredibly welcoming and friendly! Their English wasn't quite expert level (and my French is bad), but they kindly and creatively helped us figure out all of our questions, including where to dock our small boat! The room was perfectly clean and very cool, everything worked well and we loved the dark wood interior! Breakfast was lovely fresh fruit!

Bungalow was clean and nice, kitchen was useful! The staff are very nice, they helped us to arrange taxis to get there and back to the airport. They are friendly and gave us necklaces when we left. Kayaks were free to use and we could kayak to the coral garden. Also, sunsets at the dock were amazing. We recommend!!

The staff was exceptional! Marianne, the manager/chef, made delicious meals and arranged our scooter rental and a tour of Laorana Pearl Farm. Also, her brother Bruce took care of our transportation from the ferry to our bungalow and our return.
The location was bathed in gorgeous sunsets over an ocean of colorful fish and manta rays.
The serenity of this garden oasis was well preserved.
We didn't like the fact that we couldn't stay longer! If anything, and it's not a complaint,, but the bungalow had slow wifi. But all of the islands of French Polynesia have slow wifi.

We were given a free upgrade to a beautiful front bungalow, with very nice Polynesian and Thai decor. It was a short 50 meter walk to the end of the pontoon where there is a beautiful wall of colorful coral. We were lucky to see Manta rays while snorkeling. Maryanne was a wonderful host. She was very quick to respond to my questions about the booking, was very gracious and made us feel very much at home there. She has some very interesting stories and taught us a lot about traditional Polynesian traditions. She was really fun to talk to. She speaks excellent English in addition to her French and a bit of Italian as well. She has some very nice handicrafts in the restaurant area.
Nothing negative. It was a great stay.

The rooms were pretty and the location was very good. We enjoyed the island tour that we did with the owner
The rooms were not fully equipped.
We did not like that we had to pay extra for air conditioning
The half board was not value for money

The location was good
The staff were very difficult to work with. They really only speak French and seemed to get quickly frustrated with trying to communicate with non French speakers. They seemed to want to charge for every little extra item. It was very difficult to figure out how to get to their location

The contact person would not talk on the phone with me. I had a person at the airline ticket desk talk with him and when she handed me the phone and I said my name the contact person turned his phone off.
