The host Reni was incredible, she went above and beyond for us,super helpful, we paid for her to cook on the last night and oh my god, she’s an amazing cook and she made so much food! Even the next day she reheated it for us to have for lunch. The Villa was way bigger in person we were all amazed at how pretty it was, included mosquito nets and mosquito cream also!
The only negative thing I can say is the location of the Villa, isn’t in the centre of Ubud,so it’s a bit of a walk/car ride to get to shops or restaurants

Run by the most amazing people who helped with everything we needed, beautiful house and pool

the property is very beautiful with an awesome view and pool located a bit away from ubud center but near to rice terraces and bali swings. the host was very friendly and helpful. the fish pond underneath the property was also very beautiful.
IT HAS ALL BALI FEELS AND GREAT VIBE but do read the drawbacks and decide
the property was not clean at all too many spider webs and lizards the property needs a very deep cleaning and maintenance and a bit more lighting might be helpful too
kindly look into cleaning more seriously

Absolutely loved our stay! This was our last accommodation booked for Bali, and I can confidently say that we saved the best for last. Reni took very good care of us and the closeness of nature was just wonderful. Whenever we come back to Bali, we are definitely staying here again for a bit longer!
There wasn't such thing

Breakfast was exceptional
Our host RENE made our entire stay fantastic
She is the heart and soul of the villa and her husband Made was a fabulous tour guide
It was great - separate villa was a little cramped but no major problems
Air conditioner might need a service in that separate room

The whole stay was incredible which was solely down to the amazing upkeep and communication from Reni. She was always on hand to help with literally anything from organising transport, cooking breakfast, ordering takout when we first arrived as our cab was delayed coming from the airport and even to organise massages on our last day. Made, Reni's husband is the king of transport. If you don't have Gojek downloaded or are short on cash, Made is able to drop and pick up and you can just pay by card at the villa.
I fully believe our stay would have been around a 7/8 had Reni not been around to make the trip so delightful. She was always incredibly helpful, smiley and kind. All five of us were so impressed with the villa and how beautifully kept it was. There are cobwebs and bugs high in the ceilings but this villa is so remote and backs into a complete jungle so that's easy to overlook.
Some local food recommendations would be The Shed and Jungle Fish just left of the villa. You have to walk about 20 minutes down the road but the journey isn't bad and the road is straight and smooth so pretty easy to navigate. Jungle Fish is definitely more up-scale and 'fine dining' so be prepared to pay slightly more than usual for dinner in Bali here, but the food was incredible and the view is insane. We went for dinner but you can go for a pool day as they have other accomodations. The Shed is a bit more laid back but the view into the ricefields is nice.
Another good option for food is The Elephant which is about a 15 minutes drive away from the villa. Food was incredible. Completely vegetarian so if you like veggie foods you'll enjoy it there. Another place with incredible views as well and the margaritas are delicious.

The villa is beautiful and so is the pool area. Reni is the best, she made us delicious breakfast every morning and helped with all our needs.
We stayed here and did the full ubud tour, white water rafting, and if you have tike do the atv tour as well. Many tourist attractions are near ubud so it is a good place to stay for those. We also ordered massages and they came to the villa. The 3 bedrooms were really nice to have.
This is not walking distance to any restaurants or grocery stores. Reni will get whatever you need but just FYI if you are looking to stay more in town this isn't it. It's much more rural. The neighbors have kids and a dog, it wasn't loud just sort of nice to know.

she cleaned it everyday but still there were lots of ants.

it was in a beautiful quiet location, however it is 7km by road from the main town area. we were happy, but others might find it too far. The grounds and pool area were excellent. the staff, Reni and Made were so helpful and kind to us.
it was a bit tired and dated, but we soon relaxed and enjoyed it. the Villa is in 3 pavilions and there quite a few stairs to reach the third bedroom - located under kitchen building. the bathroom for main bedroom is not an ensuite, but a separate pavilion. these are not complaints, but things to be aware of if you have mobility issues.

Everything about Kupu Kupu Villa was absolutely perfect. Our flight was delayed so we arrived at 1am but Reni and her husband were there to great us warmly with welcome drinks even though we arrived so late. Kupu Kupu was our favourite of all the places we stayed in bali and the most memorable. The views were so beautiful to wake up to and the sounds of insects and birds made it so relaxing, the prefect way to start our holiday. The Villa is breath taking and exceeded our expectations. Reni is the most kind hearted person, we appreciate everything she did and taking great care of us while we stayed. The flower bath was so relaxing and stunning, something you see on instagram. Reni sure is the heart of Kupu Kupu. We wish we had booked a longer stay at Kupu Kupu Villa but we will sure be booking again here when we come back. We loved everything about this Villa exactly what we imagined and more. I Highly recommend booking here. Thank you so much for the most memorable stay we will miss you Reni. Xx

The owners welcomed us very warmly, showed us everything in the property and explained everything. They are very kind, they treated as so well the whole stay. Reni was preparing delicious breakfast for us everyday and her husband was driving us around every time we wanted to go somewhere. The villa is big, very beautiful with big swimming pool and amazing plants outside. The views of forest is amazing. You have whole property just for yourself so the privacy is a big plus. You can just calm and relax. The villa has 3 separate bedrooms so I highly recommend it for families or group of friends. It was hard to leave it. We want to comeback here for sure.

What an amazing stay!! Everything was perfect - the location, the view, the host. Located at a 20 min drive from Ubud centre, this jewel was a true find! The view is extremely incredible. The pool, bathroom, living space are all fabulous. Just a little walk outside and you are amidst rice fields! very close to Campuhan ridge walk. Go left from the villa for some amazing spas and restaurants. You are truly amidst nature here. So be prepared for ants and tadpoles and insects - but that comes with the package :) Breakfast is nothing to write home about, but everything else makes up for it.
Reni is truly an amazing host and she will go out of her way to help you. Her positive energy will make your stay a truly memorable one.

the villa located on the green area where you can hear the beautiful sound of animals such as frog, gecko and birds.
the villa floor is made from beautiful wood, unfortunately the surface floor is slightly slippery

The in house service from Reni was great. Very helpful and friendly
The owner kept walking through the villa which didn’t make the experience very private.
The cleanliness of the bathrooms and bedrooms was poor. There was mould in the shower and the bed sheets smelt of damp and mouth balls.

The villa was beautiful and Reni's cooking was amazing. It was great having Made drive us everywhere also. Both were very friendly and welcoming.
The villa wasn't as private as we would have liked. It's more of a guest house as the owner lives next door and there were times that random people would walk through the pool area with no explanation.

The place has a great layout, pool is lovely. If it was cleaner you would get a real wow factor but that element is sadly lacking
We arrived to find no one there to greet us despite giving an arrival time as requested. Waited an hour in the sun for someone to arrive. Beds unmade, loads of cigarette butts in ashtrays and place just very untidy so the lady who arrived hung around for nearly 3 hours making the place ready for us. Obviously we couldn’t relax in this time. Wish it had been ready for when we arrived as the whole experience put a real dampener on the stay. Even after the tidying and bedmaking the bedsheets were grubby and everything else generally in need of a good clean. To be honest, although the villa looks delightful it is somewhat a raspberry and I would stay somewhere else next time
