ubicacion y ambiente

Great location in the middle of many charming bars and restaurants and close to the city.
Very friendly staff!
Slightly too cold

it was the most perfect location (best bars, cafes and restaurants only minutes walk away) and such a charming building. Fernando was so welcoming and helpful - great tip offs. Easy to catch the vernacular down to a wonderful local live music venue that I would highly recommend. Breakfast was gorgeous with those incredible views of the water and all the colourful buildings on the hill.
I’d recommend getting an Uber to the vernacular (Cummings st?), to get there, then just riding that up to get to hotel with luggage, as hotel is at the doorstep of the vernacular stop (20 metres).
thanks so much Fernando - was a very special experience. ❤️
me personality, I loved everything and wouldn’t fault this place.
if you are someone who needs early sleep and are sound sensitive, the (amazing) live music does go on late so consider that.

It’s a funky period piece in a low down and dirty artsy barrio with cool bars and graffiti
room wasn’t ready, well turned out but y drains were rather smelly

The staff were amazing and wonderful. The room was clean and fresh. The view was spectacular. The location was perfect - right in the heart of the arts district. The Free Breakfast was delicious and generous. We felt very well taken care of.
The wifi could have been a bit better signal, I had trouble connecting a few times. If we had been able to afford a few more nights we would have loved to have stayed longer, but it was a fair price for everything that was provided. Thanks to the wonderful staff.

The staff was wonderful despite our very lousy Spanish, and went out of their way to help us, and to give us a large room. 😀 .Great location for exploring this beautiful town and it's art. We even got to watch tango dancers just outside.
Very narrow staircase, and had fun carrying 🧳 luggage up there.but the staff was very helpful 👍

the staff was great! the location was very convenient. the hotel was at the end of a long alley by the ascensor with lots of restaurants, music, street vendors and buskers. lots of energy.
it was noisy until late (2 am) and there was some drug activity next to the ascensor at night. we came at New Years so that had a lot to do with it. By the time we left it had settled down a lot.
3.0
Location was convenient and easy to access the tourist areas.
Room did not have air conditioning. Internet connection was poor. People parting with loud music until 4:30am outside in the mini plaza, which could be heard even with ear plugs in.
4.0
The location was ideal, close to many attractions, views to scenic areas, relatively close to downtown with nearby access to one of the many cable cars.
Through no fault of the accommodation, partygoers in the vecinity were very noisy over the weekend. But, we were given earplugs!!

amazing views, and incredible central location to art galleries, food, and places to go out at night.
Very noisy at night, but this didn’t bother us personally

The building is located right in front of Elevator Reina Victoria within a historical home. Each room has a little balcony and a beautiful view of different points of the city. The rooms are cozy and very comfortable. The staff in particular makes the place. Everyone was so friendly especially Miriam. <3
Additionally, we ate lunch at the restaurant, and it was great! Really recommend it.
The area has a lot of you people at night hanging around - it didnt bother us - but just know that

pro. it is a picturesque building at the end of the finest alley in Valpo. wooden and creaky.
Cons. But first - I am not a rage poster. I travel full time and spend >330 nights a year in hotels. I’ve stayed in great as well as super grimy places, and always consider the cost/value/location factors. But I would not stay here again even if I was given a free room.
it is INSANELY and unceasingly noisy here. I used to live in New York City, and thought that I knew what noise pollution is. The conversations of the staff and the ringing of the reception phone sound as if they are In your room. The building fronts on a plaza that usually hosts a very amplified, off key singer. The plaza, especially on weekends, hosts hundreds of kids drinking and smoking. The dramatically loud thumpy music down the hill plays through the weekend nights, usually getting quiet about 9 in the morning. Really, not exaggerating. There are a few moments of silence before the lunchtime restaurants crank up their music.
S American breakfasts are usually bland, but theirs is particularly dreary. A bit of processed meat and plastic cheese, with tasteless bread. come on, do something interesting.
The rooftop terrace is closed. The inhouse restaurant is minuscule, and looks like my grandparents basement, with chest freezers and cleaning supplies filling the corners.
The very worst thing. Guests must be buzzed in and out of the gate and front door. I stood, many times, and once in the rain, outside for 10-15 minutes waiting for a staff member to wander by the reception area, or hear the door chime over the CONSTRUCTION noise or music. Just trying to LEAVE the hotel I would search for staff to buzz me out. On checkout day the only guy I could find felt that he was not qualified to let me out of hotel prison….until I was literally POUNDING on the door! more than once, wandering the neighborhood, I thought that it would be nice to change my clothes or get my book, but decided that it would be just too much hassle to get in and out of the hotel!

Historic building with a lot of personality, super stylish with an interesting inner set up. The location is superb, and yes: it is above a tiny park were people party at night so it gets noisy. But partying at night IS Valparaiso, that is the soul of the town. Even if you weren’t staying at this particular hotel, you would still hear some parties happening. The staff is amazing, very polite, caring and attentive. The included breakfast was also excellent: great ‘pan amasado’ (typical Chilean bread - this one is fantastic!), filtered coffee, real orange juice, cold meats & cheese and scrambled eggs. Add the views and you will walk away with a smile. I will definitely recommend!
I only came for one night and I thought it was AMAZING

they not give to me my invoice. I struggled for 1 month and I couldn't get my bill that I paid for. I would give it to my company. I paid out of my own pocket.

The views
The noise just outside the building

Friendly people, location is excellent
Breakfast was not so good, no fruits and we had to do coffee on our own as coffee machine “did not work“ this was a bit strange
2.5
The staff were friendly and helpfulz
It was located next to a little square and every night we were there, music was blasting until 5am. I have never paid so much to not sleep for 3 nights.
