The property is beautiful and very well kept. We stayed in the Rose room and it was perfect. Breakfast was outstanding, and Naimh was very accommodating.

Beautiful scenery, rooms and décor fabulous, and a wonderful host. Breakfast was also delicious with freshly baked bread and scones and some of the nicest scrambled eggs I’ve ever eaten
Nothing at all to complain about

Beautiful Farmhouse clearly lovingly restored by Niamh and her husband and done up very tastefully.
The bedroom was cosy and warm with a very comfortable bed and lovely bed linen. We had the use of a sitting room, lots of water, tea & coffee making facilities in our bedroom with fridge and microwave - delicious cake on arrival too. The breakfast was also fab with a beautiful view across Blessington lakes.

Our hosts went above and beyond! Not only was the property in the most beautiful of locations with incredible views, but we also had the ability to walk around the farm and interact with the donkeys, hens, goats, horses, etc. and with loaner Wellingtons available to keep our feet/legs dry. Our hosts made us feel incredibly welcome and comfortable, and daily prepared the most delicious breakfasts. When we had to leave early for the airport on our last day, she even offered and prepared and set out muffins, juice and coffee for us so we could partake early since we would miss the typical breakfast time. What a memorable experience; will definitely be back!

The setting (overlooking the lake) is stunning and the farmhouse beautifully restored / decorated. The garden suite is extremely well equipped and private. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Niamh and her staff are wonderful!
This was our second visit and we will be returning. We love it.

Beautiful modern farmhouse with amazing views over the Wicklow Mountains and lake. Lovely walks from the farmhouse to the lake and surrounding countryside, wellies provided if needed. Amazing room with views and private patio. Home made breads and great choice for breakfast. Friendly host and great location. The drive through the Wicklow Mountains on the Military Road was mazing and the views were awesome. Would highly recommend a visit to this area and a stay at Abhainn Ri Farmhouse, but beware the carparks to the local lakes eg Glendalough shut early, so don't plan any evening trips to the lakes or you might be disappointed.

Naimh was a wonderful host. Being a fifth generation resident of the farmhouse she was a font of knowledge of "what to do" in this most beautiful part of Ireland. The views over the valley were tranquil and spectacular. There couldn't be a better place to recover from jetlag!
Irish hospitality at it's best.

Stunning scenery and an absolutely beautiful location. We enjoyed walking down to the lake and saying hello to the donkeys. The suite was exceptionally comfortable and warm and breakfast was delicious. But above all the views are to die for!

This property really exceeded my expectations. It is a lighting in a bottle type situation because the setting is absolutely magnificent, the property and grounds are really well kept, the room was modern and clean, and then the owners are really nice and hospitable too.
We had a super relaxing stay and enjoyed pattering around the farm. It was a nice touch that they let you borrow some wellies and interact with the animals. The breakfast was really nice too.
The location is a bit tricky to get to due to the very narrow one lane roads, so there are times when you may meet a car coming the opposite direction and need to figure out a way to squeeze past. However the seclusion of the property is a large part of the charm and it is not so bad once you get used to it, plus every car we met was very cooperative.

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely host! She was super friendly and accomadating, the farmhouse is where we stayed although rooms are not very big, they are so beautiful and the view from our window was stunning. Breakfast was really lovely and honestly the atmosphere is so relaxing there, if you have kids I believe the cottages next door are where you would stay. This place is perfect for a couples trip like ours when you want to to disconnect, especially if you like animals/nature or even for families to peel kids away from screens and get out into nature. If you are looking for an authentic irish stay this is the place to try. The grounds are truly exceptional we had lots of fun and will absolutely be back.

We had the most beautiful stay here at Abhainn Rí! Niamh was such a wonderful host, and cooked us the most delicious breakfast with fresh eggs from the farm. The location itself was incredibly peaceful, overlooking the lake with rolling hills and we could see it all from the window in our room. It was also only a short drive to some lovely restaurants. We spent the morning walking through the well kept fields on the property down to the lake, passing all of the lovely goats and hens along the way. The bed was really comfortable and the house was impeccably clean. We can’t wait for our next stay!

The farmhouse is very clean and there are plenty of welcoming touches in the rooms such as bath robes and quality delph. The views from the property are outstanding and their farm walks down to the lakes are great fun. (They even had wellies free to borrow). We had a very comfortable sleep. It was lovely to see all the animals and staff were approachable and friendly. Plenty of local attractions are only a very short drive away so you’ll be spoilt for choice with things to do in the area!
The location would be harder to get to without a car or if you are drinking so you might want to plan ahead for that. That being said, they provide wine glasses and bottle openers in the rooms. We knew about the location from reading reviews so it wasn’t an inconvenience to us at all and it was a very quick drive to all the places we wanted to visit. Well worth it for the views!

Due to ferry being cancelled and having to take later ferry then we arrived later than planned. Was impressed with the facilities and use of lounge and really appreciated the lemon drizzle cake that awaited us! Fabulous breakfast.

Abhainn Ri is unique, and absolutely magical - a bucolic working farm on the shores of the lough headwaters of the Liffey with magnificent views of the western slopes of the Wicklow Mountains. It's a peaceful base from which to explore the sometimes hectic Wicklows, with Glendalough itself just 25 min away via the Wicklow Gap. Farmer Joe is warm, welcoming and informative, and Niamh's baking is not to be missed. Our garden suite was immaculate and comfortable and a grand launchpad for a blissful morning walk through the farmland (Wellies available next to the henhouse). The tiny village of Hollywood is 5 min drive away and a perfect place for a delicious pub supper. We hope we can return someday!
The fact that we didn't book for a week! : )
