About this bed and breakfast
Little Hartley Hideaway
AMAZING SUNSETS & STARS!! Just minutes from several wedding venues.
Our property is nestled at the foot of Mt. York.
The unit/studio is on the lower level of a 2 story home.
Little Hartley Hideaway is so close to everything but far enough away to have that peaceful getaway.
The sunsets are something else, which then lead into the most beautiful display of stars in the evening.
A semi rural area with beautiful surroundings to enjoy.
We are on tank water and it just tastes the best ! and we do conserve it where we can.
Six acres of land with many native birds to wake up to. You will probably also see kangaroos and possibly our resident wombat.
We are very close to the The Japanese Bath House, The Blue Mountains, Katoomba, Lithgow, Bathurst and Lake Llyle. The Hydro Majestic worth a visit if nothing else to experience the view, it’s breathtaking.
There is an unfenced dam on the property so all care must be taken by guests if you venture down there.
There are many bush walks one can take.
It is also a photographers delight.
There are excellent restaurants in Lithgow and Blackheath and Mt Victoria. Bookings recommended.
There is a fabulous well known pizza restaurant called Alchemy, just 2 minutes away.
Collits Inn Function centre is within 7 mins drive.
You have your own private entrance and private balcony to watch the magnificent sunsets.
The unit has a kitchenette, with microwave, electric wok, hot plate, fridge everything you would need to creat a yummy meal.
A bbq is also available for your use.
A continental breakfast is included.
We do not have an oven in the unit.

The property was absolutely stunning! We arrived and there were fresh home-made muffins on the bench. Heather was very mindful of giving us privacy but very welcoming in her communication leading up to our arrival. We would love to stay again on our next trip to the Blue Mountains

We arrived late. The hosts had put the heaters on so that the rooms were warm and cosy for our arrival. In the morning we found homemade banana cupcakes (a very personal touch). We wanted for nothing, everything had been thought of. The environment was quiet and very relaxing. Certainly recommend.

I stayed at this property with my mum and we absolutely loved it. The room was sparkling clean and cosy. The owner checked with me for our estimated arrival time so they can make sure the house was heated upon our arrival. The kitchenette was well equipped and a variety of breakfast items was provided. I can sincerely recommend. Thanks for making our stay in the Blue Mountains memorable.

Cosy and comfortable in a fantastic location to explore

We stayed for a wedding. Room was clean but the bed was like a rock, we could hear every move upstairs and the shower was barely usable. Breakfast include is only multigrain toast with jams, lucky there were better foods in lithgow. Not worth the money.

Excellent!
We only had one night at the Hideaway but we loved every minute. We sat on the balcony enjoying the view; the unit was clean and cosy and had everything we needed. Having fresh bread for toast in the morning was a lovely touch. Thank you Heather!

Peaceful garden hideaway
Little Hartley Hideaway is situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. The garden is a beautiful place to sit, read and write while you sit back and enjoy the birds and kangaroos/wallabies. If you're lucky, you might even see the resident wombat. The rooms are neat, tidy and all that is needed for a temporary stay. Thank you Heather and John. Kindest regards

A perfect base to explore the mountains and beyond. Peaceful country surrounds with everything you need (and some things you don't, like home cooked muffins and biscuits, yum). More than enough for breakfasts and we enjoyed the front verandah and garden on returning from our walks and travels.

Little Hartley Hideaway is the perfect retreat if you're looking for peace and quiet amongst nature that's just stone's throw from all that the Blue Mountains has to offer. We saw kangaroos just a few metres from the house and even a tortoise lazing by the dam. Using it as our base from which to explore the mountains, we felt we were completely away from all the hustle and bustle as we watched the sunset through the beautiful gardens from our own private verandah.

Peaceful getaway
Exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, secluded, great views and a tranquil setting. The welcoming received was more than we expeted with a lovely selection of teas, coffee, fruit, breakfast cerial provided and muffins on arrival. Thank you. And we enjoyed playing the games of an evening.

Serenity in Hartley
Wonderful place to stay - beautiful surrounds visible from inside this cosy light filled unit. Attention had been given to every detail by our hosts Heather and John. Correspondence regarding the booking was prompt and very helpful.

Beautiful spot
We enjoyed being in a scenic semi rural area, and in Heather and John’s comfy flat that had everything we needed, including a tasty morsel waiting for us on arrival!

The property was clean and in a lovely location but is overpriced for what it is.
The bathroom is particularly small and has only one towel rail which means there is not enough space to hang two towels and a hand towel.
The room is well presented and the bed was comfortable.
The breakfast was a 'continental' breakfast which was a serve of muesli or Granola. As there were two of us staying there was not an opportunity for us to both have the same thing. There was only milk to have with the cereal and no fruit or yoghurt. There were four slices of bread, butter and marmalade but no other choices of condiment.
There was a good choice of teas and a drip filter coffee machine.
We only stayed the one night and chose to have breakfast elsewhere.

Cozy unit suitable for a couple
We had the opportunity to stay at Little Hartley Hideaway for 2 nights. We found the unit very comfortable and had everything we needed for our time there. The unit was small & cosy which suited us perfectly because we were there to see the sights of the surrounding area which were absolutely beautiful especially Newnes. We especially enjoyed sitting on the desk looking out at the beautiful gardens, even saw a kangaroo grazing on a nearby property. Thank you Heather

Great bed. Lovely view of sunset over the plains. Cosy room with all you need in the kitchen. Host left the heater on for us and a little snack for our arrival. Very peaceful.

A tranquil base in the countryside
The homely touches - host made banana muffins, butterdish in fridge, generous continental breakfast provisions, fresh flowers, sumptuous bed and bath linens, a very comprehensively equipped kitchenette, and great hot water shower, - together with the superb location and surroundings, really helped us to enjoy our quick 4 -day vacation in the Blue Mountains.

just about everything you need
A bit cramped in the bedroom, no space on the dresser cas there is a big jug and basin on it, and could of done with a bedside table on the other side as my husband has a cpap machine and he had no where to put it. Everything else was great

A lovely little get away
A quiet little stay at the foot of Mount York. Perfect for you and someone special to retreat after a long day of activities in the Blue Mountains. Wonderfully appointed with everything you could need. Cosy and warm even in the dead of winter.
Check in was simple and relaxed.
Heather is a fantastic host.
