Food was very good.
The room was extremely dark. We were given a room with a disabled bath. We did not need one but considering that often disabled people may be elderly and have poor eyesight,we suggest that the lighting is improved..
4.3
Beautiful grounds. We had a well equipped self contained unit. Swimming pool was a fantastic bonus.
Breakfast choice for vegetarians could have been slightly better and was a little pricey but fine...
4.3
food was very good, and the sundowners was very good nice atmosphere, the grove is set in some nice grounds and close to the coast.
Unfortunately the Grove isn't really suitable for disabled no lifts to any of the rooms and steep staircases

Convenient location for our needs
It was very tired looking and in need of some updating.
The restaurant was overpriced.
4.3
Breakfast was lovely local fresh produce used, we got a free upgrade as the hotel was not full which made it special walking distance to town centre
It was all lovely

Room was cosy, clean and comfortable and nicer than expected from the photographs on the website. Being able to use the pool - privately as well - was a lovely bonus.

Lovely building with character and history. Really like how they have kept it with original features. Love the old worldly furniture and it was so warm and snuggly. Loved the pool, especially having it all to myself each morning. Wonderful breakfast set me up each day.
Was disappointed with dinner. Whilst my duck was perfect I cannot say much good of the veg and potatoe accompanyment. The waitress did offer to exchange these, which was nice, but appetite was spoilt.

A lovely country hotel very close to the cliffs and Cromer town centre. Swimming pool lovely and easy to book. Room very comfortable and endless tea and coffee top ups.

We chose this place for our wedding night as we wanted something a little special.
Staff were friendly and greeted us with a smile. Accommodation was great and clean with underfloor heating, multiple choices of teas and coffee, a cafetiere and bathroom accessories. The places outside looked beautiful lit up at night.
Lack of parking and maneuvering space was bad. We went out for an evening meal and on returning there were no spaces left to park and multiple cars trying to turn around.
Bread was mouldy when we arrived for breakfast but was given more when we told staff about it. Juices were not topped up so couldn't have any orange juice or more than one glass of apple juice.

Only the Food
Room was very poor

It was quiet.
The room was basic and rather plain and small.
The bed mattress was worn down so one tended to slide to the edge and off the bed. The towel warming device was a nice touch.

Lovely wooded setting with a traditional feel and modern conveniences. I had to change rooms due to a mix up but was given a free breakfast. The room was very comfortable and all food was fresh and delicious. I enjoyed a solitary relaxing swim . A lovely stay

Everything, the hotel is warm, clean and a friendly place to stay.
Noise coming from reception in the early hours. This was quite disturbing.

The location and room was excellent. We didn’t pre- order afternoon tea so that was unavailable to us. We had dinner in the sundown - pizza, and that was great. The service was great.
We only breakfast on one day of our stay - scrambled eggs & salmon. The eggs were lovely - the muffin was a little burnt. We had our twin 3 year old with us - and even though they only had some cereal we were charged the full £15 each for breakfast as we booked via a third party.

Everything was wonderful, the staff, the welcome, ease of arranging things, no complaints in any area. The Grove is so well maintained and it shows, so cared for and intimate, a wonderful location. The food is beyond excellent.
The suite (room 11) was so quirky and comfortable, although getting in and out of the bath a little tricky, but only thinking about anyone with mobility restrictions, also it may help to have a small piece of ribbon on the main bathroom doorway, as the sign about minding your head cannot be easily seen, you need a visual item to force you to duck.

Staff & location. Public areas looked great. Nice gardens too.
Room was a little small.

very spacious room although a little quirky but very comfortable. Staff were very good and food is excellent

The location of our room was in a small group of 4 set in lovely gardens to the side of the main hotel. We picked this room, at a 'premium rate' as we value peace and quiet and to a degree the room fulfilled this expectation.
The room itself was large and comfortable.
Breakfast is at extra cost, so we walked into the town as it was cheaper.
We were lucky that we had likeminded fellow guests staying in the adjacent rooms as the wall of the building are wafer thick and we could clearly hear the fellow guests talking. If we had had noisy neighbours, it would have been an issue.
A radio is provided with no way of plugging it in and there are only basic TV channels.
The biggest let down of all was the bathroom. This was nowhere near a premium rate bathroom. Some of the issues I had (Dirty rubber bath plug and the broken toilet seat) were dealt with speedily as I had to make a complaint to the duty manager.
Some problems like the missing metal plugs for bath/ basin, the damaged China basin and loose bath tap, and the general shabby appearance will only be fixed with a refurb.

historical building. excellent rooms. great service. friendly. top food. great time. will be back
