Everything was absolutely perfect from the second my husband booked our room. The staff are professional, friendly, attentive. Breakfast was delicious! Our room was gorgeous. We felt the age of the building but modern amenities.
The only thing we didn't like was leaving!

St Josephs is located about five minutes by foot from Pile Gate, inside the city walls right in the heart of Dubrovnik's old town. It's a small family run hotel. Our room was in the top floor, nicely designed and very well kept. The building dates from the 15th century, but the hotel has been renovated to the highest standards. Despite the central location, it was pleasently quiet in our room.
Breakfast is served in the room and comes with all sorts of sweet and savory pastry, fresh fruit, a smoothie, and coffee or tea to your liking.
Staff is enormously friendly and helpful. We were guided to our nearby restaurant as the streets in the old town are a bit of a maze, and were offered help with booking a wonderful day trip to Ston and the Pelješac peninsula. They even called the tourist office to check if the cable car is already running (right at the beginning of the tourist season). On our last day, our bags were kept until we left to the airport in the late afternoon and we were offered to keep our room key to have access to the rest room in the common area. Absolutely amazing service!

It was a great location but off the main drag, so nights were quiet.
Would definitely return.
The staff is very helpful.

The fabulous location in the heart of the Old City was just amazing. This was backed up by the wonderful staff - especially Nemanja who was so helpful with advice and ideas.

Our stay at St. Joseph's was perfect from start to finish. We were so pleased with everything. The location couldn't have been better, the room and bathroom were beautiful and fresh, and the included breakfast was delicious. I was worried getting to the hotel would be challenging given the Old City, but the hotel made it seamless.

We spent 5 nights at St. Joseph's which is right in the heart of the old town, a superbly renovated town house. We had a lovely, large, comfortable room on the first floor with a useful little kitchenette. All beautifully decorated, in keeping with the old building. The hotel doesn't have a dining room, breakfast is served every morning in your bedroom at a time of your choice with hot and cold food beautifully presented.
All the reception staff were extremely helpful, there is always someone on duty. They arranged a chauffeured pick up and drop off for us from the airport which made everything completely hassle free. Someone met us at the town gate and walked us to the hotel, taking care of our luggage. They also recommend tours and will book restaurants. Dubrovnik is a great city to explore, take a boat trip to the beautiful nature reserve island of Lokrum. There are lots of fantastic places to sample the wonderful Croatian food. I highly recommend staying at St. Joseph's.
Everything was excellent. You do hear early morning noise from people delivering to the restaurants in hand carts as the whole place is pedestrianised but it's part of the charm

St. Josephs was terrific. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. We were upgraded for free. The room was beautiful, cleaned everyday, breakfast was brought for free. An exceptional hotel.

Perfect location to explore the city. St Joseph’s is a hidden gem, our room, Queens studio suite was fabulous. Breakfast was delivered promptly each morning at requested time, ‘green juice’ was a highlight! A big thank to all the staff who couldn’t have been more helpful, you’re all amazing.
Nothing at all, we loved it.

The breakfast was prepared to order when we arrived. The best breakfast we’ve ever had at a hotel. The location was unbeatable—right in the middle of the old town but on a quiet street. The hotel personnel were exceptional. You will never find a more accommodating staff. The building and the rooms were very charming. I don’t see how you could make a better choice in Dubrovnik.
The room was a little small.

This boutique hotel is an absolute MUST. It’s almost 500 year history makes you smile as you approach it’s private entrance. Unexpectedly, As I entered and went up to the room, I was surprised at its cool clean color palette, combined with rustic natural stones and antique charm. The rooms were very clean, the service absolutely SUPERB (Namanya and Team you are outstanding!!!!!!) and the morning breakfast delivered to your room was absolutely the perfect way to start your wonderful day in the historic town. St. Joseph’s is our must the next time we are in the area.

Incredibly dedicated staff — to the point of seriously wanting to carry our suitcases up to the airport bus stop, which must be at least 120 steps up (we took Uber from a closer spot instead). Great breakfast brought to our room each morning. Fun being within the walls of the old town. Only six rooms in the hotel, so very personal. Spacious and comfortable room, very nice bathroom.
No issues

Amazing crew, location and felt like home
Cleaners were just a little over-eager and cleaned things like cosmetic samples, and unopened cup noodles from our room when cleaning

Apart from the general facilities – we stayed in the room in the picture – the highlights included the choice breakfasts and its perfect location.
But above all, the service: both in terms of attitude and accomplishment. Of course, the expected assistance – restaurant selections, tourism recommendations – but then so much more. Nemanja, the concierge, looked after us like royalty: bringing forgotten items to us in person while we were on an excursion outside the hotel; going in person and using his own money to buy concert tickets for us when we were elsewhere; carrying out our luggage through the streets to and from the taxi; giving us a surprise 25th wedding bottle of champagne; and offering us an extended checkout when we hadn’t even asked for one. That’s service – congratulations to whole St Joseph’s team!
Our room had a beamed ceiling which gives an extremely cosy feel but unfortunately also a porous barrier from noises above. Fortunately these were not many – so just a niggle.
Also the hot water in the bathtub didn’t go up to just below scalding, so it took a while to fill as almost no cold water was required. But really, another niggle.
The only fly in our 5-star ointment was the decision of a stonemason to repair the surround of a drain just below our window, starting his chiselling at 7:45am on a Wednesday morning. But this was: (a) clearly outside the hotel’s control, (b) to be expected in a central Old Town location, (c) in any case, quickly over – less than 20 minutes.
