Good hotel at the center, good views but quiet at the same time.

I want to express my gratitude to Kerry and the receptionist attendant. Arriving to 6:30 am I left my mobile at the taxi I arrived. They help me to find the taxi company and the driver telephone. After one hour I had my mobile again with me. Well done and many thanks!!

Good

The bed is comfy and the room is big , water in the swimming pool is clean

The floor in the room was sticky and dirty , the furniture was old and damaged , there is no ventilation in the bathroom , the carpets were dirty , there was no comb in the room , in the swimming pool there were no towels in free access , you have to ask for them from the Spa front desk , the light in the clothes storage room was broken .

Very good

Loved the bathtub and bed. The cleaning staff on the 12th floor was phenomenal...always polite and checking up on our comfort.

There were kids running up and down the hallway a few mornings at 6am. That was a bit challenging when you were on vacation and wanted to sleep in a bit. Also the room was a bit worn... but still nice decor. .

Good!

Beijing is very hot in July, so the hotel I hope is that the room air conditioner is cold enough. The Sofitel Hotel fully meets my expectations. The reception staff on the first floor are very kind, and the cleaning staff are also very polite

Very good

The counter staff who helped me check in was probably having a bad day or faced a tricky situation from the previous client. Made me wait for quite a while right in front of her while she was busy typing away on the phone, while my toddler was crying right behind me due to long train ride and needed some rest. Even though I told her I was checking in which she acknowledged first but then ask again if I was collecting luggages. After that commanded for passports and gave me instructions in a pretty rude way. First time experiencing it this way in a five star hotel, made me wonder if it’s really Sofitel. Probably need some training to handle service better.

Needs better management

A nice place to stay

Stayed here three weeks ago - then traveled entire China and managed to empty the one of my bank cards along the way. We decided to stay here also before going back home and had booked this hotel again. Only difference is that we were met with “Room cancellation” instead of asking for another card or trying to find a solution. Lucky for us we were in the subway 10 minutes away so we could resolve it.

A nice place to stay - Big room

Breakfast was very good. Room was comfortable. Bed was good.

The pillows were terrible. The ventilation system was strange - We couldn’t open a window for fresh air - even if there are windows available to open. Coffee in the breakfast was mediocre.

Very good as I like a room and service of hotel, only 1 hotel in China that staff can speak ENG

Exceptional

The staff is very helpful. The room was comfortable with all necessities for a good rest. The breakfast was delicious, full of big variety. Also the 'Happy Hour' snack time was actually a proper dinner time 😄 Will definitely be back!

Room too hot in winter, left early.

Clean, nice rooms, helpful staff.

During the winter, the heat is not controllable. The rooms are way too hot and even the fan they brought me didn’t work to cool me down.

A great place for a staycation.

The breakfast had a range of food- both Western and Chinese. The room size was amazing- really nice bathtub. Bed was huge and very comfy Comfy sofa/chair in the room. Powerful shower. Pool was lovely.

Although we had the air con on the room was very warm. We had club access this was a bit disappointing - nice wine but that was the only alcoholic selection. Food was basic. I have seen better club access facilities.

Superb

The staff was so friendly and helpful. Sherry was kind and her English was so good! Amenities were nice and bed was comfy. tub and view were great too!

The hot tub wasn't working and the pool was a bit cold and even closed early one night.

I booked here because Sofitel Hangzhou West Lake had been a great trip. Beijing Center Sofitel felt like a fancy three star hotel. The "Jacuzzi" is a bathtub, the TV was Chinese language only, the non-stop traffic filters through the windows all night and the breakfast buffet basement is freezing cold. Had I known this, I would have booked down the street at a hotel closer to restaurants and shops and not abutting a major road. A Jacuzzi is equipped with massage jets - this was merely a big bathtub. The TV channels no longer included any non-Chinese language stations, just CCTV. The movie channels, National Geographic, foreign news stations were all removed. A maintenance guy said something about admin cancelling the stations. The bed was incredibly soft for those accustomed to a typical Chinese mattress, and the windows didn't prevent the all night traffic noise from entering. Great breakfast but bring a heavy coat, the basement is freezing.

Great location, and reasonably comfortable.

The location was perfect and staff were very friendly and helpful although it was extremely hard to communicate in English.

The details that would make the stay better, there was no room service menu in the room. We had to call and ask for menus multiple times. The air conditioner was not working and so the room was continuously hot even after asking staff to help. There was no hair conditioner in the room and there was a lack of bottled water. Had to keep going to the gym for water as the reception phone wouldn’t ring through.

brilliant stay! exceptional staff

The room was amazing. We were upgraded to a suite because it was our anniversary and it was superb. the bed was the comfiest/softest bed I’ve ever slept in. struggled to leave it during the two nights we were there.

it was a bit further away from the city centre so we had to get a DiDi to different places. other than that, it was perfect.
