I would highly recommend the Beraja hostel to everyone visiting Lima! As a couple, the room with private bathroom was perfect to relax in after a couple of long flights. The hostel has a quaint, lovely atmosphere and a very good breakfast, but best of all, a hospitable host to make your stay worthwhile!

very cute hostel, not too crowded. has a nice rooftop. breakfast is great, and the staff is super friendly

- Neighborhood of Barranco with nice place to eat - as we were so hungry after the tiny breakfast served, we could enjoy Lima gastronomy at its best
- The daughter was friendly
- No answer when we requested if we could check in earlier ( before 2:00pm). We arrived at 9:30 am and the housekeeper barely let us in, she had to call the owner to confirm it was ok to stay in the living room and use the kettle before check-in, not the warmest welcome. We could only check in at noon even though the owner told us that the previous tenant left at 6:00am
- Breakfast is the smallest and cheapest in portion we faced in 4 month of travel in South America: 1 egg (we asked if we could have a second egg but a NO was answered, we’ve always had two before in other places), 2 pieces of bread with butter and jam, a tiny portion of fruit (3 thin slices of banana, 1 quarter of mandarine, 2 pieces of papaya) - All served in small plates for dolls to not make it look too ridiculous. The impression it gave us is that the managers are being very STINGY which is not what we expect from a family guest house.
- Stairs to access the room are a bit dangerous ( careful not to hit your head), there was a noise of washing machine during the night ( until midnight) but don’t ask if you could use it, the answer is no.
- It seems that the management of the guest house was done by the parents before and now is done by the children and the booking rating is going down each year, we could understand why. Today, it clearly does not deserve a 9

Great hostel, our host gave us a brilliant 1 day itinerary for our short stay in Lima too.

i liked how the place was so quiet compared to Miraflores hostels, it is a simple hostel in a beautiful house where you’ll find amazing stuff.

Had an absolut warm welcome in Peru in the Family Hostel. Would definitely come again! :)

Very nice owners, good vibes in the best quarter of Lima.

- The kind hosts.
- The place itself and the location is right in between Barranco and Miraflores.
- You are basically staying with a family so the place is very homely.
We were here for only two nights and everything went well :)

We stayed here twice during our trip to Peru. A very nice accomodation with a friendly family who runs it. Often there is lasagna and cake available to buy which we were very thankful for when we arrived late. It was delicious.
Great location in cozy Barranco and walking distance to Miraflores (30 min walk). Comfortable bed. Hot showers. Quiet. Great value for what it costs.
Everything was great.

Very friendly staff, cute place with a nice terrasse upstairs, nice decoration, good value for money, next to a bus station
A little too far away from the city center of Barranco for me (20 min walking)

the family treatment received by the hosts with lots of very useful hints about where to eat, withdraw money without bank charges. Confortable bed

Luz and Willy are amazing hosts. In my 10 years jaunting around latin America this is one of the most welcoming and comfortable places I've stayed. It also seems to attract very similar travellers. Chilled artists, composers, musicians. There is a real feeling of community here.
That I actually had to leave..! I could happily live here in Barranco.

they even offered me some cake, which was very nice.

The hosts were super friendly and welcoming, we felt like home and also enjoyed the company of other travelers. Also the neighbourhood of Barranco was very untourisistic and great to explore Lima safely. The breakfast was amazing.
The rooms next to the kitchen can be really loud and bright if people are using the kitchen. I would suggest the hosts to put on curtains especially in the dorm in front of the kitchen.

It is a true family hostel. The owners are just more than lovely, super relaxed and friendly.
A lovely homelike ambience and interior. The beds are super comfy, the place is really clean and the breakfast is great. I'm going to stay here again next time in Lima. Graciasss

Small nice, clean and quiet hostel, located in a quiet area of Barranco, however not too far from Barranco's restaurants area (10 mins walk), little market near by (if you want to buy some fruit etc.) and near the bus stop for the express bus to the historical centre (5 mins walk)
The hostel is run by a really nice family, nothing is a bother
I enjoyed my stay (4 nights)

An amazingly warm and hospitable family. Even without being able to speak spanish, I had a great time. Cool terrace to hang out and meet other travelers. Great location to easily walk to Miraflores or Barranco. Cute cats as well.
Even with the language barrier the owner helped me out when I lost my passport and helped me find a place to get the yellow fever vaccine
I couldn't stay longer

We absolutely loved everything. The owners are so nice and accommodating and went out of their way to make it feel like home. We met so many new friends here as well. The breakfast is delicious. We are coming back in a couple days and we cant wait!
everything was great

the staff is super friendly and helpful and its really confy to stay here and they cook amazing food and desserts!

Clean rooms with a comfortable bed, staff is nice, breakfast included (bread with eggs, juice, jam and coffee or tea), good location in walking distance to miraflores and barranco, nice rooftop terrace
good value for money in Lima
Little privacy as some rooms are facing the community areas, can get noisy
often not possible to use the shared kitchen as the owners use them quite frequently and they didn’t really offer you to use it even though a shared kitchen is mentioned in the hostel’s description.
the shared bathroom wasn’t that clean and often there was no toilet paper

Completely feels like home! The owners are so nice and attentive. It was so nice to wake up to a smile and home cooked breakfast. I have never stayed in a hostel quite like it. Beautiful.
4.6
Nice family and warm welcome.
Noisy and smelly because of the cats I guess. And a 15’walk from the center of barranco.
4.6
Lovely breakfast every morning, and great roof terrace for relaxing in the afternoons. Also brilliant how close markets and shops are, for any snacks needed.
Nothing, it was great!
